Submachine gun MP-661K "Thrush"
Pneumatic submachine gun MP-XNUMHK "Drozd" was a kind of "firstborn" of such technology in Russia. It was invented in the design bureau of the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant by an excellent Russian gunsmith-designer VL Cherepanov on the basis of a sports-type IZH-661 pistol. This type of weapon is a submachine gun with 46 charges and a gas cylinder with carbon dioxide that looks like an Israeli-made Mini-UZI submachine gun.
The latest model of this unique gas cylinder pistol with automatics gained a high rating and popularity among the pistols of this segment, which incorporated all the new technologies and design projects of designers from Izhevsk enterprise Baikal.
At present, the purpose of the pistol is formulated as a pistol for entertaining firing, while at the same time the exterior of this type of weapon and the linear dimensions correspond to a submachine gun that is in service with several NATO countries.

The trigger mechanism electronics is powered by six "AA" 1,5 B batteries, which are located in the shank. In the MP-661K "Drozd" application, the usual metering device MP-654K, where the expansion tank, which provides high rate of fire, has been added constructively.
