PKSK Carabiner - 10

7
Such a thing as “service weapon", First announced in the wording of the law of the Russian Federation" On Arms ". This is due primarily to the development of private security business. This type of weaponry includes firearms, smooth-bore and rifled weapons with a shortened barrel made by Russian enterprises, and the muzzle energy should not exceed the value in 300 J, as well as a smooth-bore weapon with a conventional barrel length.

An additional constructive condition is that when using this type of weapon there is no shooting in automatic mode with a holder capacity of no more than 10 cartridges.

PKSK-10 is a short-barreled carbine, which is equipped with various security forces and detective agencies, along with the chop. For the first time this type of weapon was demonstrated during the exhibition “Security-98”, during which high ratings of this type of weapon were obtained by experts.

The production of this type of service armament is organized at the machine-building enterprise of Zlatoust by the production company “Weapon Production”, which is engaged in the manufacture of various types of sporting and service products used as weapons.

There are a number of rather contradictory opinions on how to properly identify these weapons, like a “submachine gun” or “short barrel carbine.” Opinions diverge, but in terms of their functions, this is more a carbine than a pistol. Let us dwell on the “short-haired carbine” variant. This sample was the result of the refinement of the pistol - machine gun PP - 71 "Cedar". Changes occurred both in the ammunition, (the ammunition 9x17K was used) and the exterior. The cage capacity has undergone a change; the shot production mechanism and the receiver barrel box have become structurally different. The shutter of the product is of a free type; during operation it slides along the guide channels of the receiver box. The mechanism for producing a shot of a hammer type is located on a base that is easily disassembled. The clip latch and the reload lever are located on the left for the convenience of most shooters.
To create a certain comfort in the production of shots at targets that are at medium and long distances, there is a folding metal butt. Sighting device is made in an unregulated version of the combined type. When an unused butt is used, the aiming is conducted through a rectangular slot. With the use of a weapon with the butt folded down, the sight automatically switches from the mechanical to the diopter version, thus achieving shooting accuracy, and the aiming is noticeably improved. The design of the sighting mechanism allows this service weapon to change the sight, both vertically and horizontally.
The safety checkbox is located to the right of the receiver box and, if necessary, “locks” the trigger and the bolt carrier. At the end of the ammunition in the cage triggered delay bolt carrier, which feeds up the tooth of the dispatch cage. The re-cocking lever is located on the left side of the product.

The trigger mechanism is made in an easily removable version, when turning and removing the safety lever-bracket, it is easily separated. Structurally, it is assumed to conduct firing only single shots.

.When a shot is fired, the barrel channel of the carbine is closed with a bolt.

The button to connect the clip is on the left side of the product.

A ramrod is mounted under the barrel of the product, which serves only to visually distinguish the service article from the PP-71 Kedr or Klin military weapons.

Tactical and technical data of PKSK-10:
Caliber - 9х17 K
Length with folded butt -: 312 mm
Length with folded butt: - mm 540
Barrel length -: 120 mm
Height with magazine -: 180 mm;
Width -: 54 mm;
Weight without cartridges-: 1,6 kg;
Magazine capacity - 10 cartridges;
Target shooting range -: 50 meters.

A few words about the operation. Short carbine in the study and application is simple. Wearing it can be carried out in a hidden manner on a belt or a special holster, which is supplied in the product set.

The model range of portable carbines in service armament is still represented by only one PKKS-10: This product allows you to fire at targets more accurately than short-barreled classic samples, which plays a big role in conducting mobile patrols and guarding service objects with a long security guard route. Visually, this type of service weapon is clearly different from gas weapons, and the appearance, similar to military weapons, can serve as a deterrent for violators who decide to encroach on private property.

      For specialists there are other types of weapons, for which specialist a short-barreled carbine and even with a "kurts" cartridge? Correctly written - weapons for collectors and chop officers

    And what is the meaning of it? Scare you. So you can drag a howitzer from the museum .. As a military weapon, even for protection, it is not effective. Small store capacity weak cartridge, heavy weight. Better a gun like Rook or Fort-12.

      About the small capacity of the store - read carefully the law "On weapons"! Civilian weapons are not allowed to have a magazine for more than 10 rounds. Yes, and a simple chopovtsu, who will shoot from him, God forbid, only in the shooting range - it is!

        Those who know the law will not be afraid of the sight of a false submachine gun. And under a shortened cartridge, it is better to make the gun a half to a half easier and without gadgets, such as a stock, after all, not a hundred meters.

          Under the shortened cartridge IZH-71 (or whatever the PM service alteration is called there) - you can’t imagine any better.

      For money. If there are no orders from the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at least cut a penny from private security companies and civilians.

    The Mauser has more civilian times, and the store has more, and the firing range, and the wooden butt, and no one had the mind to call him a carbine. What the fuck is a carbine under a pistol cartridge?

      Almost all 19th-century Winchesters are under a revolving cartridge, but this is not a civilian shortened one, which is intended for shooting cans.

      The carbine is a lightweight rifle with a shortened barrel. There are many such carbines, we have a Marlin Camp 9 carbine behind the hill at the Vityaz base, etc.

      Well, let's say, the Mauser of the times of the Civilian magazine had the same store capacity (there were also 20-round models, but later). And he (model 1912) was positioned in the avenues of arms stores as a "pistol-carbine for travelers"

      Shortened samples used to be called carbines. AKSU is, in its own way, a "carbine" from the AK-74. Smoothbore carbine "Saiga-12K", no one calls a gun like "Saigu-12"? Although I could be wrong. Caliber, and even more so a specific cartridge, does not play a role here at all. Now I'll go to WIKI ... :)

        A carbine is a shortened rifle. AKSU cannot be a carbine because AK itself is a carbine in international classification. The cartridge really does not matter. The Americans during the Second World War had several samples, but they were all under a revolving cartridge.

          AK, this "assault rifle" they have - an assault rifle / shotgun. As well as M16 (A1). You are confusing something. AK never passed as a carbine (AK-47, AKM, AK-74).

            It has now been equated to assault rifles. Somewhere on the Internet there is a selection of "USA Millitary magazine". Read it. There, during the Vietnam War, the Americans got acquainted with the automatic carbine. The rifle has a different barrel length, so the bullet flies along a less flat trajectory, they are intended for shooting at shorter distances.

                Sorry to interfere in your dialogue, Andrei, but I also heard that the amers, when they met our AK-47 in Vietnam, called him the Soviet automatic rifle. Serving urgent as early as 80, our political officer, praising Soviet weapons at one of the political activities, mentioned this fact.

        And then the SKS carbine is an option of what? then it’s easier to say a carbine - a shortened weapon in simple language. because the SCS does not have a full-fledged analogue with a longer design.

      You know, the KEDR submachine gun itself is not bad (in my opinion), more impressive than the PM. At 25-50 meters, he puts it quite heap, in terms of disassembling - assembling simple. But why he was castrated before such a "carbine" God kill I do not understand.

      In the Russian Federation, they try not to eat guards without a license, and in order to get it you need to get a certificate for carrying weapons as well.

    He worked in a private security company, was responsible for armament. We had 5 units of this product and for some reason it was white. We bought it just in case. This weapon was not assigned to someone and served as a dust collector in a weapon cabinet. 2 years ago it was handed over to the Ministry of Internal Affairs on I can not judge about the performance characteristics, but the white color killed.
