East-Kazakhstani troops build capacity - Sky-M radar
From 2012 of the year, a new Sky-M radar complex will be delivered to VKO units.
The main purpose of this RLK is to track objects at high and medium altitudes.
From the official report of Colonel Vladimir Drik, who is the representative of the information department and the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the military department planned to provide the armed forces with dozens of Nebo-M RLC.
“Sky-M” refers to interspecific high and medium altitude radar stations. The RLC is capable of analyzing information at working heights on low-dimensional hypersonic and aerodynamic purposes in adverse weather conditions, transmitting the collected information to the missile defense units - anti-aircraft missile units of medium and short range.
October 2011 of the year became significant for the Sky-M RLC - the tests of the multi-functional station were fully completed.
Domestic armed forces will receive a reliable means for quality control of space and airspace with an effective range for determining hypersonic, ballistic and aerodynamic objects and vehicles at a distance of up to 1.8 thousands of kilometers and at a height of up to 1.2 thousands of kilometers.
These data are officially reported by the press service of the enterprise "Federal Scientific-Practical Center“ Scientific Research Institute of Radio and Nuclear Research ”.
The latest development of domestic designers is provided with good mobility and can replace if necessary any of the existing radio engineering units of this class. No matter how trite it sounds, the Sky-M radar complex has no analogues.
Today the enterprise "Federal Research and Production Center NIIRT" is one of the leaders in the design and creation of radar equipment and complexes. The company has more than 35 of various types of radar stations and complexes in its account. The volume of all stations and complexes amounts to today 17 000 units, this technique constitutes the radio engineering support of the air defense of our Fatherland.
3 000 units of radar technology from this volume are delivered abroad, in the armed forces of the order of 50 states.
