EKP and stop cranes

The designers offer to return the life of the Russian North, but they are not heard in the government

The main trouble of our North is the almost complete absence of all-season communications. How to solve this problem, the “Military-Industrial Courier” was told by the designer, Doctor of Technical Sciences Vladimir Bukovsky.

Many people in the north, both ours and those of others, drew attention to the key difference in the psychology of the inhabitants of Alaska and Chukotka. In Anadyr and Lavrentia, the majority of the population arrived for a short time, to make some money and return to the mainland. And nothing, that already the third and fourth generation of northerners is growing - the thesis “we are not here forever” is written in the subconscious. Alaska was mastered by those who went to live there. The difference in approaches was key. We have everything temporary, on a live thread. Americans settle in comfort worthy of Seattle and New York. They live in comfortable private houses, acquire small planes, even build cottages along tundra streams.

–Teasers and local residents - two fundamentally different approaches to the development of the northern territories ...

- While the bet is placed on temporary workers, unfortunately. The territories rich in resources, once inhabited, are now being developed on a rotational basis, often from near and even far abroad. This is largely due to the degradation of the transport system of the regions.

The planes of local airlines have developed their life, airfields are in desolation, there are no modern analogues of An-2, the cost of helicopters is so high that flights are inaccessible to the average citizen, and the safety of their operation is a matter of concern. Inland waterways are no longer able to provide even the reduced need of the population for transportation due to the termination of clearing of once navigable rivers, as well as due to the physical aging of ships and the decline of coastal infrastructure. Lack of supply of essential goods, full medical care, educational institutions and workplaces, separation from truly cultural values are pushing the working-age population of the outback to move to large cities.

It is especially important to ensure year-round transportation in regions with an underdeveloped transport structure. Here it is an economic, social and political problem. Restoring traditional transportation systems in the form of local airlines and fleet is an expensive and time-consuming process. Even with super-powers of power, the result will manifest itself not earlier than in five to ten years. Transport problems are trying to solve, as they can, with the help of local administrations, small private companies. But they have an extremely small set of opportunities and a limited financial resource.

- How realistic is it to return those opportunities when people in Siberia and in the north easily moved by water and air over 50 – 100 kilometers, could fly to the regional center for everyday affairs, to the doctor or even to the exhibition and return home the same day?

EKP and stop cranes–Amphibious vehicles were successfully produced by teams headed by Tupolev, Bartini, Beriev, Alekseev, Koronatov. Amphibians that have achieved unsurpassed characteristics have been built and massively exploited. They were used everywhere - from mail delivery in villages to the landing of large amphibious units, they threatened to become "aircraft carrier killers." But all this is in the past. We need new things.

Over the years 16 we explored the capabilities of amphibious vehicles - WIG, hovercraft (SVP), on the cavity, with aerodynamic unloading, aerobot and others. And now we offer high-speed amphibious transport. There are no analogues to it in the world. And this is not just a means of transportation, but the whole system, an amphibious transport complex (ATK). Self-contained combination of high-speed vehicles and local infrastructure.

–What are these amphibians?

–High-speed amphibians (ICA) can perform five different types of movement:

- sailing, as an ordinary displacement vessel;
-glissing, as a high-speed vessel, partially coming out of the water;
-contact-contactless mode (BCF), being in a water-air emulsion;
-contactless mode (on the screen and off-screen to a height of 150 m);
- snowmobile mode (on ice, snow, swamp, tundra).

The choice of a specific type is carried out by the crew based on the flight objectives and traffic conditions. We have already developed, built and operated in Yakutia, the vehicles VSA-7, capable of carrying up to 24 passengers at speeds up to 250 kilometers per hour. Developed and built VSA other dimensions with a capacity of 10 and 90 passengers.

–The question is: is your child able to replace airplanes and helicopters?

- BCA is no better and no worse than traditional aviation devices. They are different. It is appropriate here to recall the outstanding aircraft designer Igor Sikorsky, who, when asked whether helicopters will replace airplanes, answered: “A helicopter will never replace an airplane, but it will do what an airplane will never do”. Although some comparison is still possible. The BCA-7 has comparable capabilities with the Mi-8 helicopters. The volumes of cargo cabins, carrying capacity (passenger capacity), speed, tasks, regions of application - these positions are close in their values. However, the operational parameters of our machine have features:

-the safety of passengers and crew of the ICA is incomparably higher;
- at cost - 25 – 30% Mi-8;
- on fuel consumption - 10 – 12%;
- at the cost of maintenance - about 20%.

In addition, the exclusion of the ICA from commercial operation for several months for scheduled repairs in the factory is excluded.

–You said it is not only about creating a new vehicle, but about the whole system based on it.

–We have developed a strategy for locating and operating ATCs nationwide. The bottom line is this. On the banks of the meridional rivers and their tributaries, as well as along the Amur River, near the settlements, ATK strong points are established. The same - along the entire coast along the Northern Sea Route. The places of installation of the support points and the distance between them are determined by the location of the settlements, the configuration of the coast, and the radius of action of the ICA used.

Thus, the territory of the country will be connected by an all-season transport network. Moreover, ATK strongholds are interconnected by local information networks to provide navigation and dispatching. The development of transport based on the Armed Forces will give impetus to other types of transport - automobile, aviation, the fleet.

As in the past, starting from the XIII century, postal stations and inns provided the transport accessibility of the vast territory of Russia, and now it is realistic to cover all remote regions with ATK strongholds. Initially, neither roads, nor airfields, nor ports are needed - they will appear gradually, as these or other areas develop. The network of strongholds of the ICA is developed separately for a specific region, taking into account the maximum possible number of factors (geological, geographical, climatic, demographic, interaction with other modes of transport). So at the new level will continue story "Station rangers."

–What do “end users” think about this? And most importantly - what are they doing?

–There is “The concept of creating a high-speed cargo and passenger transport line of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for 2012 – 2014 years”. In pursuance of this document, the “Agreement on cooperation and joint activities to create a high-speed fleet (ICA)” was signed. A step-by-step action plan for the creation of a high-speed fleet of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for 2012 – 2016 was formed and approved by the Minister of Transport and Road Management of the region. In addition, proposals have been developed for the use of ICA in various regions of the Russian Federation (Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Azov-Black Sea basin, the Caspian Sea).

“But the infrastructure of the transport complexes you offer also needs to be created, which will require both time and money.

–All elements of the proposed ATK are made on a single technological basis from a specially developed composite material. Even with compartments and cavities filled with water, ATK elements retain positive buoyancy. This material has another important property - low thermal conductivity, comfortable temperature for staff and passengers is maintained for a long time without the inclusion of air conditioning systems. When creating a composite, issues of reliability, lightness, hygroscopicity and hydrophobicity were solved. The strength characteristics of the material are confirmed by tests at the Krylov Research Center.

The structure of the ATK includes floating moorings in several versions, office premises for various purposes, as well as shelters for the ICA. Berths and modular premises are made on a single project, they can be assembled on site by hand.

ATK is based in any place necessary for the operator, and is always ready for redeployment. The simplicity of the design makes it possible to operate the ICA without fail throughout the entire life cycle without costly and long overhaul. The year-round navigation of the BCA will alleviate the problem of the northern delivery, it will simply cease to be necessary.

The price of an amphibious transport complex in the basic configuration with the preparation of the required number of crews and technicians corresponds to about a third of the cost of one Mi-8 class helicopter. Available calculations show that investment in the construction of a batch production plant with a capacity from 20 to 50 complexes per year will pay off within six years.

–So the VSA themselves are worth something and must be made somewhere ...

–The operation of both individual ICA and ATK as a whole is assumed within the Scientific and Production Transport Complex (NPTK). These are organizationally and financially united enterprises (design bureaus, pilot and serial plants) and transport companies that interact on an ongoing basis with the goal of the most effective and safe work throughout the entire life cycle of the ICA from creation to disposal. Organizational interaction (within the NDFC) of industrial and transport enterprises will allow us to constantly improve personnel training, improve the design, quickly eliminate its shortcomings, restore damaged vehicles, and optimize costs. The issues of traffic and safety management are already being worked out and partially tested by us.

The technology allows you to place environmentally friendly company anywhere. Preliminary work has already been done on the design of new generation plants for both pilot production and serial production of VSA. They can even be located on a completely uninhabited territory. Thus, both the ATK strongholds and such small plants, united in the NPTK, will become the bases of the new settlements. Moreover, the developed structural material is suitable for the construction of prefabricated buildings for various purposes.

In fact, we propose to form in our country (the first in the world!) A new type of transport - a high-speed amphibious fleet and, accordingly, legalize the emerging industry. The formation of such a fleet is comparable in importance to a breakthrough into space. Work is already underway on the design of VSA with a carrying capacity of up to 300 tons. This will provide an opportunity to create sea and ocean transport systems.

- What prevents to realize plans?

–As it turned out, the resources of private companies and even individual subjects of the Russian Federation are insufficient. Efforts are national scale.

High-speed amphibious (ekranoplanny) transport and therefore ekranoplanostroenie as an industry actually already exist. However, this is not fixed by law, which in a bureaucratic state is tantamount to a complete ban. The initiative of enthusiasts, endorsed in words, comes up against a hidden, and sometimes even a clear opposition. Moreover, the regulatory and legal framework for the design, construction and operation of the ICA is absent. To legitimize a new type of transport, it is necessary to develop, coordinate, approve and put into effect several dozen documents at various levels of government - regional, sectoral and federal. A list of priority regulatory documents developed. However, all initiatives stall in government. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation does not even have promising programs for the development of high-speed amphibious (ekranoplan) transport.

“But someone is above the bureaucrats — one of those who can make decisions?”

–The problems were discussed at a fairly high level. October 24 The 2014 of the year saw a meeting of the Expert Council under the State Duma Committee on Industry on the theme “Development of the production of civil aircraft and civilian military in the Russian Federation. Legislative support ”, which was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, developers and manufacturers of amphibious technology, universities and research institutes. As a result, a resolution was adopted proposing practical actions, and a working group was established to prepare draft legislative acts. Subsequently, State Duma decisions were prepared on the legislative consolidation of high-speed amphibious transport, which passed three independent examinations. The meeting with the same agenda was included in the business program of the International Aviation and Space Salon in Zhukovsky. Representatives of federal legislative and executive bodies, the scientific community, enterprises of the aviation and shipbuilding industries, and public and trade union organizations participated.

There is a unique situation. There are high-speed amphibians (ICA), there is an opportunity to ensure with their help the transport accessibility of remote regions. Companies are ready to invest in the creation of the route network, the regional authorities agree to place on their territory an innovative product that can significantly change the quality of the environment ... But there is no regulatory framework for the use of ICA, which makes their operation illegal.

And there is no practical action by the executive branch. Moreover, for five years, the government does not accept the “Concept for the development of civil and military WIG in the Russian Federation”. Now she continues her drift in the offices of the domineering bureaucracy.

      Were there projects of normal, large trucks? "Lun" and "Eaglet" not to offer - they are sharpened for other purposes. The ekranoplan eats fuel like an airplane - just imagine what prices will be in the north (and they are not small there anyway). It is cheaper to bring goods to navigation by ships - the cost of such transportation is much lower.
      They need such a transport that will take a lot of cargo, but will consume little fuel and an ekranoplan does not fit these requirements.

        The ekranoplan fuel eats only on take-off, and then the savings at times. If you take the lunar eight engines to start, then it flies in two. Which two-engine aircraft can drag eight mosquitoes?

          any aircraft weighing 500 tons Yes. Eaglet. Took a load of 20% of its own weight. Mi26 80% - the mass of the cargo is the same. Compare Lun and Eaglet with airplanes of equal mass in speed, range and carrying capacity and you will see that the benefits of EP are a myth.

          How much will it cost in money? And the competition here is not with airplanes, but with ships.
          Here it is necessary to consider the cost of transportation per unit of cargo - the more cargo a vehicle can take, the cheaper the transportation, and its cost is included in the price of the goods.
          Who wants to transport their goods ekranoplan at the cost of loss of competitiveness?
          There are, of course, exceptions - every perish like fruit and vegetables, well, maybe milk.
          Everything else can be brought into navigation by the classic sea route.

            With summer operation there, all the norms are there, according to what was written in an interview, they are finally feeling for that narrow niche for ekranoplanes - local passenger and emergency transportation along rivers and coasts of hard-to-reach areas with small EPs.

            Here they have a few pluses:
            - the possibility of using and servicing piston engines in place
            -amphibian EP that can fly from water, ice or snow.

            But this amphibiousness has very big restrictions, which were "forgotten" in the article: there should not be hemp and bumps under the snow, driftwood and ice floes on the water, on ice hummocks. Those. the landing zones will still have to be prepared and cleaned.
            By the way, too, about flight paths, if the EF will often leave the screen, then what is the economy here.

        The minus, especially the anonymous one, is certainly a very compelling argument in any dispute ... laughing It is a pity only he is not able to cancel the objective laws of aerodynamics ...
        The beneficial effect of the screen on the aerodynamic characteristics of the wing is manifested in two factors: firstly, in limiting the power of the inductive vortex at the ends of the wing (reducing aerodynamic drag), and secondly, in increasing the pressure under the wing (increase in lift). Hence, the difference from the winged wing from the airplane lies in the ability to block the incoming air flow under the wing and limit its flow to the upper wing arch. The effect of the screen is manifested the more, the smaller the height of its trailing edge relative to the wing chord above the screen, therefore, with equal area, wings of small elongation (l = 2-5), with a large chord, are used, and vertical plates (washers) are installed at the ends , reducing the gap between the wing and the screen ... The aerodynamic quality of the wing (the ratio of lift to drag) with approaching the screen increases by about 4-5 times or more, and the lift only by 1,5-2 times. This indicates an approximately equal effect on the quality of both the increase in lifting force and the decrease in inductive resistance. The increase in lifting force simultaneously shows the degree of wing self-stabilization along the flight altitude.

The cost of maintaining pressure based on the design of the skirt as a whole is not very large, and even more so for skeg skirts, although the latter lose amphibianity.

      Somehow a couple of years ago, the topic of ekranoplanes was discussed at VO. One of the articles explained why ekranoplanes remained unclaimed. It sounded very convincing. In fact, there were no advantages to this invention (as explained in the article). As a cargo float. it is expensive to use it. They did not consider it as a "killer" of aircraft carriers. aircraft are much faster and less vulnerable.
      So, quite possibly, the ekranoplane does not have the set of qualities that the armed forces need today.

            In the conditions of the Far North (swamps, tundra, river deltas), it is impractical to build large cities. It is not necessary to reinvent the "screen bicycle", but it is necessary to create optimal conditions for conducting the economy (military service) on a rotational basis. And building castles in the air and coming up with what to do in them is possible only from the stupidity that arises from satiety and limited labor (creative) activity.

      At the state level, this task can only be solved by the Ministry of Emergencies and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Businessmen do not want to get down to business for a simple reason: long-term (6 years) payback of the project with an uncertain demand for this vehicle. The pilot of the EP is trained according to the aviation program, while at the SVP - a simple navigator learns in a couple of months. But each of them has its own "+" and "-". There will be a need (and there will be!) And the state will return to the issue of transport accessibility of the remote northern territories. Orders will appear - there will be performers. And to see for yourself they have already worked out the issues of operation. The only interesting thing is how the accident protection will work. If pedestrians collide, and then 250 km per hour. At least forehead to forehead (already 500 km will be) at least along the way someone to bring down. And at night how to rush at that speed?

And at night how to rush at that speed?"- There won't be 500 km / h, well, it won't, try to analyze it more closely. Unfortunately, the laws of physics in this case say that the economy of the vehicle data grows with increasing speed. If this is a drawback, then it is not a big drawback.

          Venya! 08.19. Unclear. With a head-on collision, aren't the speeds added up?

          No, they don't add up. In such problems, energies are considered, not speeds. If two objects with equal mass are moving at the same speed, then their energies will be equal (E1 = E2), i.e. when they collide, they will balance (E1-E2 = 0 (this is sooo rough, but reflects the essence)) and this will be tantamount to hitting a motionless absolutely rigid object (for example, a wall). To put it clearly, then: in such a collision, vehicles will spend all their energy at the point of collision. If one ship has more energy, then it will transmit a part of its vehicle with less energy, with all the resulting ones.
          For some reason, this fairy tale about the addition of speeds walks through the minds and does not wane, despite the fact that already in the school physics course there is an answer.

                  Although I do not work with energies as such, but I deal mainly with static calculations based on equilibrium equations, I still remember something. And for the simplest definition, in relation to the above-described case, it is possible to use “on the fingers” and kinetic energy, and not necessarily momentum, although for the solution of specific applied or scientific problems, of course, a vector.
                  Kinetic energy is a part of the total energy of the body, and at the speed of the body much less than the speed of light, it is expressed (mv ^ 2) / 2, so that it is quite possible to use it conditionally as a measure of motion. Especially in this case, with very simple and insignificant boundary conditions. And for this case, it is quite fair to write down both E1 = E2, and p1 = p2, or E1 = -E2 and p1 = -p2, if in vector form. So, although you are right, and the questioner said the correct definition of "add up" (but put the essence differently, considering that they add up with the same signs), this case can be expressed this way and that. Not worth it, about absenteeism in physics. hi

            Not. Not this way. These are equal in absolute value multidirectional pulses mutually compensated.

            The law of conservation of energy is fundamental - total energy is always conserved.

            Given the fact that energy is a scalar quantity, there can be no mutual compensation of energies. The transition of energy from one species to another can occur.

            When two bodies collide, their kinetic energy passes into the internal and kinetic energy of the fragments of the bodies (if these fragments exist).

                why do you actually write down the law of conservation of energy? Is the energy of one body equal to the energy of another body? Isn't the energy of a closed system equal to 0?
                that is, not E1 = E2, but E11 + E21 = E12 + E22? for justice, you still need to shove the internal energies of the bodies themselves + the energy of the environment.
                about yours if a body of mass M1 crashes into a resting body of mass M2 at a speed of W1 and if these two bodies interact with speeds W2 and W3, and W2 + W3 = W1, then the total energy of the system will change ?????
                did you even go through the concept of reference systems at school, and 1 Newton’s law? and the law of addition of speeds? law of energy conservation? and this is actually the basics of the basics!

                  Sorry, but I want to swear at you. Did NOT write down the law of conservation of energy, from the word at all and did not even talk about it and did not intend to. This is an attempt to explain on the fingers, to a person who is not aware that oncoming "head-on-head at 250 km / h" is not 500 km / h at all. Go to school and learn to read:

                  If two objects with equal mass move at the same speed, then their energies will be equal (E1 = E2)

                  The fact that he did not specify the "kinetic" energies or did not write more precisely "impulses" does NOT CHANGE anything! And why is it not needed, academicians.
                  You are probably one of those who are sent for flour, but receive grain or bread! Why then, for the tasks "Petya had two apples, ate one, how many apples did Petya have", do not prove to the teachers that Petya has 1.8 apples left, because three times have not gone anywhere and until it came out naturally, it is still at Petya, except for the stub?
                  Body 1 and body 2. E1 = (m1 * v1 * v1) / 2 and E2 = (m2 * v2 * v2) / 2, or, for bespectacled pedants - p1 = m1 * v1 and p2 = m2 * v2. m1 = v2, v1 = v2, vectors with opposite signs. Pure mathematics. The task is NARROW LOCAL and does not require ANYTHING more, for an explanation "on the fingers". What else is needed for the existing boundary conditions? As the saying goes "what for a goat accordion, or why does grandmother need a refrigerator if she doesn't smoke."
                  If it’s sverbet, then you can count the masses of the aircraft, in one there are five passengers, three fat uncles and two thin girls, in the other seven passengers and a dog, refueled in different doses in grams, traveled different distances, etc., etc. Then calculate the total energy of the system, the momenta of the fragments, the work of gas in the fart of the observer, positioning, at least in the Cartesian, at least in the polar coordinate system, and for the zero point at least take the center of the galaxy, even the left egg of the pilot!

But why the project "stalls", we need to figure it out. The relevant ministers should be responsible for this. But since their inertia is very great, and sometimes there is no one to ask from. There is an opinion that if ekranoplanes are to be created for the North, then they will be small in size. Hovercraft are much better suited due to lower speeds and the same parameters of "cross-country ability". In addition, hovercraft have the best payload parameters. It is the large hovercraft platforms that are perfect for transporting heavy loads.
    The large ekranoplane is probably still a transport of the open sea, for example, the Pacific coast, and due to high speeds, it is excellent for the passenger and rescue fleets. The disadvantages are of course in seaworthiness, but it is precisely the dimensions that make it possible to somewhat reduce the dependence on weather.
    There is another, undeservedly forgotten mode of transport for remote settlements - narrow gauge. Firstly, it does not require massive embankments; secondly, expensive pavement; thirdly, the locomotive composition is often based on automotive tractor components. Branches are successfully laid in marshy areas at low cost, which means you can provide people with transport. Even if the train runs once a day according to the round-trip scheme, people will solve a lot of problems with moving.

    The goal is not very clear, who needs all these ekranoplans? The main difference between Alaska and our north is a different economy. Alaska is mastered by people who came to live there. They extract resources, sell them and live from this. Anyone can wash gold, catch crabs, fish, get oil, in general, do anything. It is not difficult for an ordinary person to obtain a license for any activity, plus a loan in a bank at 2-3 percent, do what you want.
    We don't have such a system. It is forbidden to wash gold for private traders, you can seasonally work "for an uncle" - large companies with licenses. Extraction of any other minerals is the same problem, everything is left at the mercy of the Rotenbergs. Fishing for seafood is also seasonal, catch quotas are again distributed "among their own", private traders are considered poachers. And so where do not stick. People were economically transferred to the category of low-income seasonal wage earners. It is impossible to be a local resident and go about your business of extracting resources, hence the result. If you give the opportunity to earn serious money, then the citizens themselves and the planes will buy ekranoplanes, and why seasonal workers need all this?

    Always alarming is the need exclusively for a GREAT deployment of the program necessarily throughout the country. Doesn't it pay off in a single operation? IMHO, we need a massive small aircraft with planes such as "Shtorkh" or Yak 12, which could land against the wind "on a handkerchief." This will be a means of operational communication in off-road conditions and remoteness. The speed of these cars is under 200 km / h, the fuel consumption (and there are also suitable aircraft diesels!) Is about 10 liters / 100 km. Political will is needed to allow small aircraft en masse. But here, as with a rifled short-barrel, there is a natural distrust of the rulers to the people. Well, how will they shoot each other? Or will they start flying in the wrong place and carry the forbidden? Alas. Or three-four-seater planes costing an average foreign car (tree sticks, such machines in the early 30s in the USSR were built by all and sundry, in gyms and bed workshops. An engine of 100 hp for such a bird was considered "especially powerful" ), or centralized transportation with An-2, airfields, infrastructure, and ... subsidies.

    The problem of developing the North is very important for the country, although not everyone is sufficiently aware of what the North is and they only know that "it is far and cold." Designer V. Bukovsky, seeing the main trouble in the almost complete absence of all-season communications, is silent about other problems: economic, social, political, technical, organizational, etc., which currently do not allow us to master the north of Russia in the same way as it was done in the USA and Canada. By the way, there, along with thorough development, there were also shift workers.
    Based on my own experience, I must say that never in Siberia and in the north did people easily travel by air and water for 50-100 kilometers, and it was possible to fly to the regional center for everyday life, to a doctor or even to an exhibition, but only from airfields capable of receiving An-12 or An-24. There were no amphibious vehicles successfully produced by teams led by Tupolev, Bartini, Beriev, Alekseev, Koronatov during the development of the North in the beginning of the 60s, as well as later, the main amphibian is the army ATC-59 and AT -T, "Urals" and ZIL -157. It is impossible to do without aviation in the North during its development, nor now. In the early 60s, the main load fell on the An-12, An-22 Antei, Mi-6, Mi-8 helicopters, and of course, on the An-2. Now in the North other cars fly besides them, but the An-2 worker is still indispensable.
    The creation of modern amphibious transport complexes throughout the country is an important and promising task that requires significant investment, and direct costs will be significantly lower than preliminary (indirect) costs. It could be solved only in the USSR. For Russia, given the current state of its economy, this will take 30-50 years, and even then, unless other problems arise in the world or domestically.

    I am not a specialist in this industry, but I agree that such transportation is simply necessary for the far north and remote sparsely populated areas. The construction and operation of the road network in these areas is much more expensive than the construction and operation of these machines. After all, YOU will not build a road to the reindeer herder camp, and they move along the tundra from place to place.

    - What prevents to realize plans?

    Plans and ambitions are hindered by the state. It, the state does not give money. Without it, in any way, any private company will not give a knowingly unprofitable project. But the state can. Will give, and will build. Then these Pepilians will rot in the wasteland, and the ekranoplan enthusiasts will whine-built and no one wants to pay for the operation, ruined such an idea.
    To move in the far north from point a to point b there are many types of equipment - aviation, tracked and pneumatic all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles at last. And no one living in the north, even in a terrible dream, would ever dream of exploiting an ekranoplan.
    For not imaginative. Winter. Need to fly. A hired icebreaker cleans the raid for a couple of days. Cleaned. From a special hangar with the help of such a mother (to the address of ekranoplania enthusiasts), the pepilats are dragged. Until the runway is frozen again - take off. And here bam - there is no water near the destination! Frozen! I drive there an icebreaker. While he goes we cut circles. A blizzard began, with a gust of wind the pepelats struck a hummock. Damn, they ruined this idea again wassat

      High-speed amphibians (ICA) can carry out five different types of movement:

      - sailing, as an ordinary displacement vessel;
      -glissing, as a high-speed vessel, partially coming out of the water;
      -contact-contactless mode (BCF), being in a water-air emulsion;
      -contactless mode (on the screen and off-screen to a height of 150 m);
      - snowmobile mode (on ice, snow, swamp, tundra).

    ekranoplan of course an interesting topic, but not a panacea for the outback! He himself comes from a village, where you can get mainly by small aircraft, in a summer on a motor boat, you can also use an all-terrain vehicle, but not always, there are also a lot of obstacles for him ... By the way, the ekranoplane will not be able to fly all year round, even along river mouths. And there are quite a lot of such villages and villages ...!
    For movement along large rivers, the ekranoplan can and will be suitable along the coast of the northern seas in summer
    too, but in winter, with the formation of hummocks no ekranoplan will do! To ensure small settlements, large e-plans are no longer profitable, small ones will be too dependent on the time of year, and other obstacles.
    Here on the site there were articles about airships, in my opinion this topic is quite promising, but it is not developed yet, and when it will be, it is not known ...

      And if the storm? And you have to fly. As if there is an ocean coast.

        the wave height is registered in the performance characteristics of any winged aircraft, and if there is a storm, then you will have to wait for any like airplanes through fog and precipitation, etc.

    Dear, besides the North, there are estuaries, people live everywhere, so it seems to me that the release is not a big series, it’s quite reasonable, if the benefit is obvious, why not offer it to foreign partners, maybe this will allow you to promote the business, and there, build a network

    Comparing Lawrence with all of Alaska is incorrect. The inhabited territories are the southern part of Alaska comparable in climate with Kamchatka. Lawrence is comparable to the northern slope of Alaska, where the majority of the population are temporary, and the villages are similar to ours.

    We need good logistics for the development of regions, and the desire of the government. And then any technique can be applied, taking into account the time of year and the weather. Previously, before the war, Soviet pilots flew through U-2 camps and Grigorovich's seaplanes. Small aircraft + fleet of special equipment + support systems and infrastructure. Workplaces for all spheres and areas - medicine, science, Ministry of Emergencies, defense, domestic services, construction, etc.

    Winter in the far north how many months to recall? Create a technique that works three months a year as an ekranoplan, and nine as a snowmobile? And they wrote fuel efficiency for the ekranoplan mode, not for the sled. WIG can be beneficial in the southern regions, where the water does not freeze. But ordinary seaplanes work well there.
    You can certainly sit and revel in the theory of a conspiracy against ekranoplanes. But now on a large scale it is not profitable even where it can be operated without climatic obstacles.

    I assure you, until the ekranoplanes flock to fly abroad, until our rulers ride them, until they let them go over the hill like a Mercedes, until they come into service with NATO, our officials will not be scratched. (Read "The Tale of the Tula Oblique Lefty and the Steel Flea")

    Whatever is said, but in the operation of all these means, the question will be about efficiency and pricing, which will kill any design decisions - no matter how capitalism we have today.
