Iran has added to the air defense division of anti-aircraft guns "Saeer".The other day on the Internet and on the remote Iranian media was quite interesting news - The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps received one of the first factory batches of a modernized Soviet-style anti-aircraft gun, the KS-19 - 100-mm Saeer.

On the anti-aircraft gun installed automatic loader, which ultimately led to the minimization of the staff. Additionally, an electrically operated servo transmission was equipped, which, in turn, is connected with an optical-electronic system for fire control. The SV system is most likely made on the basis of infrared elements. The ammunition supply store is located on the gun itself and does not exceed 10 ammunition.

The likely use of these guns is the defeat of American reconnaissance unmanned vehicles of various designs, using a height of up to 14 kilometers. Versus modern aviation and modern armored vehicles of the same America, the anti-aircraft gun does not pose any danger, since most likely it will be hit before its own radar takes on the target.

But, in general, it is very pleasing that Iran is building up its military muscles, although it is a pity that in this way. Iran has repeatedly shown its outrage with reconnaissance flights, perhaps a couple of shot down drones cool a little hot American heads.

The main characteristics of "Saeer":
- weight of the 16 projectile kilograms;
- rate of fire to 15 shots per minute;
- caliber 100 mm;
- damage range in height to 15 kilometers;
- Personnel 2-4.

    The question is - is it possible some kind of "renaissance" of cannon anti-aircraft artillery in connection with the proliferation of subsonic UAVs? After all, spending missiles, which are often more expensive than a target UAV, is not rational. And so you can shoot down with cheap shells. You just need to combine all this with a radar and a targeting machine.

      Barrel artillery has gone down in history. Portable air defense systems are cheaper and more efficient.

        The opera house, how far they are, even scares a few!
        For some reason, the video shows how they rejoice at their successes, albeit a tortoise. It is necessary to toss at least a little something more respectable to Ahmadinejad, he has a lot of money.

      Yes, for a long time in the USSR it was combined (barrel artillery, radar and automatic guidance) - back in 1949 it seems to be the year.

      there were no guns of this caliber in the USSR. There was a 52K anti-aircraft gun - 85 mm. Or did "you" have just such calibers? fellow

        the anti-aircraft gun “aht-komma-aht Flak”, officially called the 8,8-cm Flak, was still in the arsenal of the USSR, although in small quantities, purchased before the war and repelled as trophies

      A little later in 1947 In the instructions for this gun, the following curiosity was noticed: "Pulling the handle, make sure that the second click occurs after the first"

      At the time of its creation and adoption (19), KS - 1948 took into account the latest design decisions, and at that time it was recognized as a perfect model.

    on one downed plane, some unbelievable amount in (thousands) of shells. on TV showed the memories of the veteran of the Second World War. So that the savings are dubious, but no efficiency. NATO airplanes do not enter the fire zone even of archaic missile defense systems. c300 to deliver to Iran. some unbelievable amount in (thousands) of shells

    Once I looked at statistics on Vietnam, the ammunition consumption is really impressive.
    With a target speed of up to 200m / s - about 7000 units.
    At a target speed of 200-340m / s - about 10000 units.
    True, with all this, 50% of aviation was struck precisely by the fire of barrel artillery. (probably it’s a matter of tactics)
    ps Iran does not give a ride.

        Not at all, another 10-12% are attributable to destructive aircraft.
        8-10% to mixed fire damage, 30% remain on the air defense system.

      Continuation of the saying "but no bird and ass is a nightingale." In my opinion, it's good that if ours do not supply anti-aircraft systems, then if they can use at least barrel artillery. A soldier must have at least a club, otherwise it is not a soldier. countries all the ways are good. If possible allies do not want to put up modern means of airspace defense, fearing to anger the Pindos.

    With this caliber, the projectile simply must have a proximity fuse. In the presence of a decent SLA, the destruction of a low-maneuverable target, such as a reconnaissance UAV, is not a big problem. Three or four shots should be enough. And this is indeed several times cheaper than missiles. In addition, the Tor M1 air defense system available in Iran has a range of 6 km in height. Those. the gun covers this indicator more than twice. And when compared with missiles capable of reaching a target at an altitude of more than 10 km, the difference in the cost of destroying one target will be tenfold.

      With such a caliber, the projectile is simply required to have a non-contact fuse.

      On this anti-aircraft gun in the USSR, a radio fuse was used in shells

    it’s interesting how this anti-aircraft system feels in a complex of echeloned air defense systems, how the targets are distributed between missiles, and this anti-aircraft gun immediately understands that this little thing is designed for integrated defense and not as an independent defensive weapon, a lot of questions with tactics of application appear to this Saeer like addition, transportation speed, deployment time, including compatibility with other types of radars, for how many targets it works, reload time

    If there are one hundred ~ two hundred pieces, then a decent fence will be a fire. Shoot down the C-130 will be possible. It would be better of course to equip Shilka with SAMs.

    Great solution cheap and efficient! Guidance on the IR channel, which Artemka 2 rocket will you look for the IR receiver? Against low-speed targets, the most important thing, given the psychological effect, people who don’t get rid of mattress mattresses into the 100mm air defense zone will not be sent anymore. They will be ironed with guided weapons, which are not dofig and it’s not cheap, and if the position is silent, go find it in the sand, + false positions, + if they’ll directors of interference, aerosols. They abandoned the cannon air defense because of the high speeds, altitude and maneuverability of the target, and according to the c130 raptors, the entire Apache was armored, even the Kevlar was solid, it would also think 10 times from below. The point is not even victory, but the binding of the enemy, change of plans, psychological pressure, like the fear of loss of 2-5%, but everyone is scared. But Americans, apart from remote warfare (and with strange hands) know little.

    Anti-aircraft gun is a psychological weapon. During World War II, there were 2 shots for every shot down aircraft, but the nerves of the pilots spoiled them well, forced them to drop bombs ahead of time, change course, etc. But today, the goals for these weapons seem vaguely, even if 600 Combine anti-aircraft guns into one battery and direct along the laser beam.
