German sniper rifle DSR-1

The sniper rifle was designed to provide police and special units for use in anti-terrorist operations.

History creating a sniper rifle "DSR-1"

At the very end of the last millennium, the company "DSR-Precision GmbH" developed from scratch and launched a sniper rifle to provide anti-terrorist actions. For about five years, the rifle was sold on the European market under the name AMP Technical Services DSR-1. Due to the fact that the rifle was not intended for military units, the focus was on achieving high accuracy with small compact sizes. And such characteristics as durability and reliability faded into the background, due to the use of a rifle in combat single operations of the police forces.

The Defensive Sniper Rifle 1 sniper rifle was specially designed for the .338 “Magnum” cartridge, but it was possible to redesign the rifle for firing the .300 and .308 rifle cartridges. Weapon made according to the “bullpup” layout, when the locking assembly and the magazine are located behind the control handle.

The barrel of the rifle has a free location, and is made with the longitudinal lobes, equipped with a two-chamber muzzle brake. To increase the range and accuracy over long distances, the muzzle brake is disconnected and fired without it.

The locking protrusion and a special notch fix the barrel with the breech and the receiver, and fasten it with several screws to the receiver.

Also, the barrel has protection against overheating in the form of a tubular casing with small uniform holes.

Using a sliding bolt with six protrusions, and turning it, before the protrusions enter the slots located on the breech, we perform a solid closure of the barrel bore. The shutter has a shortened design, and is supplemented with a shortened handle. This type of coupling of the barrel and bolt allowed the developers to perform a lightweight receiver. It is made of aluminum alloys and at the top is equipped with a strap for fitting the aiming device. The sight to the rifle is selected from the “12x56” series, it is possible to mount the NSV-80 night sight in front of the usual sight, to use the rifle in night operations.

At the end of the receiver fixed application unit. Butt has the ability to adjust the length to 50 mm. The shoulder support with vertical shock absorber is adjustable to 50 mm. Head lining is height adjustable up to 20 mm.

The butt has a recess, which creates a convenient handle under the left hand - a specially designed supplement for firing from the stop, for which the rifle itself is intended.

The special back support located inside the butt, the height of the support 17cm, complements the fixation for aiming.

Clicking on the trigger occurs with a warning, and according to the results of testing and use, ensures a smooth pressing, in which the tip remains at a given point and is not reset. It is secured by the trigger bearing bearing.

The safety lever is designed above the trigger mechanism, the middle position is the trigger lock, at which the rifle can be loaded, the back position is the complete lock of both the trigger mechanism and the shutter. Front position - unlocking rifle for firing.

On the bar for mounting the telescopic sight, set the sliding fry with legs. The legs have an adjustable design. In non-fighting position, the bipod is folded parallel to the bar.

To shoot from the arm or with support on the additional support, the forearm can be attached to the barrel and have 3 fixed positions.
The single-row rifle magazine holds four .338 cartridges or five .308 and .300 cartridges. The shop is fixed by side-position latches.

To facilitate the replacement of the store, it has an enlarged cover, which can also be used to support the arm.
A spare magazine is attached a little ahead of the trigger mechanism, which ensures instant replacement, and the store suffers less from external influence.

The “DSR-1” rifle when shooting at one hundred meters shows very good results - the deviation does not exceed half a centimeter, the dispersion diameter is at this distance 1.5 centimeter.

Hmm ... not bad. Unfortunately, we must admit that the West overtook us in sniper weapons.
Nobody will throw a reference? - Do we have any promising developments?

Moreover, there were no tanks here and there was no word about tanks. Yes you are right, the west has overtaken but maybe not everything is lost, for example, the Orsis T5000

The barrel of the rifle has a free arrangement

This is called a hung trunk. For uniform heating.

In war, yes. And if the bed takes part of the heat, then the microscopic skew of the barrel will lead the bullet to decimeters at long distances.

If you read the article, it’s kind of obvious that it’s not an army rifle ...

It depends on how you take care, but how you can’t get out of the SVD (maximum 50 rounds, then cleaning).

In Russia, there is a company called Tsar Cannon, which makes tactical rifles much more accurate.

Already not, right now a new office has appeared, but again for the army it will not work to make trunks, they are too expensive for the Defense Ministry ... therefore, Perdyuk decided to buy from Accuracy International, although as it is easier for me, the same erm or sig, to the extreme barrel or Remington, in any case, is cheaper, but one question remains, where will the cartridges be taken?
There is another option, though it’s more expensive at times - to buy the whole production line, for calibers 7.62x67 (.300 Winchester Mag), 7,62x51 (.308 Winchester), 8.58x69 (.338 Lapua Mag), 12.7 (.50 BMG ) and produce by ourselves, the optics will have to be purchased behind the cordon, a catastrophic lag ...
