Innovation Day of the Southern Military District: the main battle tank T-90A

41
A regular participant in various events and exhibitions is the main battle tank T-90А. Armored vehicles of this type regularly take part in parades, salons of weapons and equipment, as well as in other events. The machine is well known to specialists and amateurs of technology, which, however, does not lead to a decrease in public interest. In early October, the T-90A tank was present at the exhibition "Innovation Day of the Southern Military District".

Like other vehicles of this class, the T-90A tank is designed to combat armored vehicles and enemy fortifications when interacting with infantry and other military branches. As an option to upgrade the base T-90, the T-90A continues to develop the basic ideas laid down in the projects of the T-72 family. Through the use of a set of new equipment, it was possible to significantly increase the characteristics and overall combat effectiveness of the machine. At the same time, the T-90A is not the last representative of its family. Further development tanks The family continued, resulting in the emergence of several new projects.

The tank T-90А is equipped with differentiated anti-shell armor. The frontal projection of the machine is protected by combined armored obstacles on the basis of armor steel. An additional means of countering attacks are dynamic protection blocks on the front hull plate and the turret. Protection of the armored vehicle is also provided by the “Blind-1” opto-electronic countermeasures complex. This system disrupts enemy attacks with infrared spotlights and smoke grenade launchers.

The basic one weapons The tank is a smooth-bore gun-launcher 2A46M caliber 125 mm. The gun is associated with an automatic loader and can use various types of ammunition. The tank ammunition includes armored-piercing and high-explosive fragmentation shells of various types, as well as Invar guided missiles of the Reflex complex.

On one installation with a tool mounted twin machine gun PKTM. Also, for the attack of various light-protected targets, an anti-aircraft machine-gun unit with a large-caliber NSVT or Kord can be used. This device is located above the commander's hatch.

The T-90A tank is equipped with a 1-42 type fire control system. The system includes the 1-46 sight, the commander T01-K04 sighting and observation instrument, the 1-43 information system, the laser range finder and a number of other systems. All of this equipment, as well as a two-plane weapon stabilizer, allow you to determine the target’s location and distance, calculate the required shooting parameters and launch an attack using unguided and guided weapons.

The tank is equipped with a multi-fuel engine B-92C2 with power 1000 hp. With a combat mass at the level of 46,5 T, this power plant allows it to reach speeds up to 60 km / h on the highway. The average speed on a dirt road is within 35-40 km / h.

It is known about the existence of two variants of the T-XNUMHA tanks. The 90 and 2004 modifications have some differences in the sighting equipment. In this case, both cars were built in series and delivered to the troops. According to reports, the release of T-2006 tanks of the 90 modification of the year was only 2004 units, while the tanks of the 32 version of the year were built in the amount of several hundred.

The T-90 tanks, including the “A” modification, due to the relatively large number are present in various ground forces formations. A certain amount of such equipment is also present in the Southern Military District. In early October, one of the main T-90A tanks from the Southern Military District took part in the exhibition “Innovation Day” in Rostov-on-Don.

Many thanks to the author! The photos are just great!
You can blame me, but I have long had a question - why is tank biathlon carried out on T-72! ?? Why not T-90 ?? The same Chinese are bringing their new cars! Indians also have T-90! Are they really not interested in the result? ?? request

Well, it’s considered that this is not a competition of equipment, but of crews. But yes, I personally would be more interested to watch if the competition was held on tanks of different brands. Just while the main participants are countries with Soviet T-72s, there are almost no countries with their own developments.

Pavel, this is not rust, gun grease. Before firing, the barrel is cleaned to avoid carbon deposits, then grease again to protect the barrel bore. (previously used by "Litol-24").

      Something like this. hi

In a combat situation, the first shot is fired by a sub-caliber projectile - barrel grease will be collected in its washer.

Pay attention to how the frontal armor of the tank looks in these photos. Well, it’s clear that this is armor, it is thick. Very fat. Tank ...

It is possible that this is a sham. On top of the windshield is probably active armor - the size and shape of its boxes are covered by this piece of tin, with rectangles drawn on it.
I’m sure that the tank that will be on the conveyor will be slightly different from what was presented at the parade,
like Kurganets-25 (the parade model had a driver in the center, and according to the documentation of the car, it will sit on the left and slightly in front, where the radiator is located at the parade version)
