New thermal camouflage makes objects invisible.

14

Recently, the Altix defense company, Ashkelon, introduced the Black Fox thermal masking system. The bottom line is that, for example, an army jeep shielded by special thermal panels becomes invisible to the thermal imager due to mimicry to the environment - “smart” panels adjust external factors to the desired device.

The next stage in the work of Altix was the development of a new component of the disguise - the active window - a special technology, thanks to which the vehicle crew will be able to observe through the open windows and at the same time remain unnoticed by thermal monitoring tools.

In a commentary to the Israeli media, Ronen Meir, Altix CEO, the development is commented on as follows: “If you close the whole machine or one of its sides, it will become invisible, but you still will not see its protected part. Creating an active window eliminated this drawback. It is, in fact, physically a window further, but neither it nor the observers see thermal means of observation in it. ”

In autumn 2010, the company patented its technology in the United States. Armored fighting vehicles can equip it, Tanks and even the Hammers.

The new system can be useful for special forces, which, when conducting various operations, must hide their presence. Regardless of speed, field conditions (temperature, vegetation, humidity) thermal sensors probe the data, and thermal panels create the illusion that the object is perceived as part of the landscape.

In the future, the manufacturer is going to adapt this system for ships and helicopters.

It is interesting that the heat of the exhaust from the tank will be extinguished ???

I wonder what kind of silencers come up with? Technologies then develop not only in disguise, but also in target detection.

ATGM has not yet been induced either by sound or by exhaust gases, although such physical principles are already used in the Navy and in aviation.

So I say that the introduction of noise attenuators is not far in the case of the introduction of masking with thermal insulation. Well, something like this :) There are already developments, it seems I saw such a gear.

    Well done Janke.
They themselves have created a range for tracking equipment and pointing out destruction means, and now they have developed multi-billion dollar defense against it. Now, it’s more likely to introduce this to all types of military equipment.
Do not forget to hang on the White House capitol, So that the Islamists would not see them in yellow glasses.
    :)) :))

forma2, actually, that crap was done by the Jews-- because they are fighting against terrorists entirely armed with thermal imagers wink

All this is certainly good, but RPGs do not need to keep warm, how much does such know-how cost to stick around the same abrams that already costs a lot of money, such a miracle of invention is more likely to be really suitable for special units. My opinion is not such a straightforward advanced technology, if necessary, this can be created in our country.

We already have an invisibility cloak, the article is even on the site!

This has already been invented in Belarus, we already have this.
But it’s the USA that they should be the first everywhere, if not the first, to claim that the first.

in this case, the funds spent on camouflage will be too large, if we take into account the combined arms battle. Although for amers this is the norm

Such a disguise will most likely be used for sabotage or for surprise attacks.

It is unlikely that Arab terrorists have thermal imagers. Thus, the Americans will use this invention.
