“Pechora-2M” air defense missile system - modernization success
According to the directive of the General Staff and government orders, in the middle of spring 2002, at the central training ground in the Astrakhan region, the modernized Pechora-2M air defense system was fired. The 2 launch of missiles with a range of up to 20 km and 30 km, which resulted in the destruction of the "enemy's air targets", was made. The Defense Systems company noted that there were no failures and failures during the tests, all the blocks worked perfectly.
Here I would like to note that for the first time a company that does not have state capital won the tender for the modernization of military equipment with the investment of its own funds. The estimated cost of the tender for the modernization of the Pechora air defense system is more than 150 million dollars.
"Pechora-2M" has already been presented to the military representatives of the countries to which supplies of this complex were made, and the combat tests only confirmed that the declared technical characteristics correspond to 100% based on the results of the firing.
In total, over 400 “Pechora” air defense system was delivered abroad, the main countries to which deliveries were made - Egypt, Libya, Vietnam, India, Syria, Iraq.

The complex was developed since 1955, KB-1 of the Soviet Union as a means of combating aviation enemy technology at an altitude of up to 20 kilometers and a range of destruction of up to 25 kilometers.

The complex includes the newest transport-charging vehicle “PR-14-2М” with a hydraulic manipulator for working with the missile products of the complex, which adds the ability to load rockets into the launcher anywhere.
Replaced 44 units and 6 equipment cabinets of the complex on the 2 equipment cabinet "UK370" and "UK360". The zip materiel is re-equipped with equipment to ensure the operation of new equipment and amounts to 50% of the number of installed equipment.
Managed rocket "5ВХNUMXД" received an updated engine on the first stage, an upgraded warhead and a fundamentally new fuse. All this expanded the range of destruction to 27 kilometers and increased the possibility of destroying low-flying targets due to an increase in the mass of the warhead by more than 32 times and the fragmentation of fragments 1.5 times.
New features of the Pechora-2M:
