The main task of the Interior Ministry troops is to maintain law and order regardless of the existing conditions. This structure should carry out the tasks assigned to it at any time and in any situation. In particular, the internal troops must remain combat-worthy under conditions of radiation, chemical or bacteriological contamination, which may arise as a result of a man-made disaster or combat operations. To work in such difficult conditions in the internal troops using the appropriate equipment. Thus, at present, the UAZ-469xx chemical reconnaissance vehicle is in service with this structure. In the near future, it should be replaced by new equipment of a similar purpose.
The new reconnaissance chemical machine РХМ-ВВ based on the Tigr armored car is currently being considered as a replacement for the existing UAZ-469хх in the relevant units of the internal troops. The development of the RHM-BB machine began in 2011 year by order of the command of the Interior Ministry troops. In winter and spring of 2011, the customer held a tender, according to the results of which the contractor for the development of a new machine was selected. The creation of RHM-BB was carried out in the framework of the Razruha research work.
The task of the project with the cipher "Razruha" was the creation of a new reconnaissance chemical machine based on the existing chassis, equipped with a set of special equipment. A prospective machine should have had the opportunity to conduct radiation, chemical and non-specific bacteriological reconnaissance. For this, the onboard equipment complex had to include detectors of α-, β-, γ-radiation, as well as gas analyzers with the ability to search for chemical warfare agents, toxins and aerosols of biological agents. Also, the machine complex should have the possibility of sampling air, soil and water, followed by delivery to a specialized laboratory.
In addition, the research and development requirements of Razrukh meant using modern navigation equipment that would allow the reconnaissance vehicle to constantly monitor its location. It also implied the use of a radio station that ensures stable communication at a distance of up to 25 km and the transmission of information about the detected contamination of the territory. Finally, it was necessary to equip a new machine with equipment for installing fencing signs and launchers for grenades for various purposes.
The complex of special means was to be based on a wheeled chassis with the formula 4х4. In addition, the chassis required power density of at least 25 hp per ton, air transportability and the possibility of transportation by rail, as well as the possibility of using roads as a full participant traffic. The base chassis should have an armor protection of at least 3 class and a penetration attenuation coefficient of at least 4. The crew of the reconnaissance vehicle, according to the technical requirements, was to consist of three people.
In the spring of 2011, the developer of the new machine was determined: the Razruha competition for research and development was won by the Vector Special Design Center. The next two years, the specialists of this organization were engaged in the creation of a set of equipment designed for installation on one of the chassis available in serial production. The main work on the project ended in 2013 year. The result of this was the assembly of a prototype of a reconnaissance chemical machine РХМ-ВВ, which was presented at the Interpolitex-2013 exhibition.
Shortly after the first display of the layout, work began on the production of the first prototype of a promising machine. The Premiere of the RHM-BB prototype took place at the Interpolitech exhibition in 2014. Later, a new reconnaissance chemical machine for internal troops was once again demonstrated to specialists and the public. The last at the moment its show was held at the recent forum "Army-2015".

The presented prototype of the reconnaissance chemical machine РХМ-ВВ is built on the basis of one of the modifications of the Tigr armored car. Such equipment is already actively used both in the army and in the internal troops, which should accordingly simplify the operation of reconnaissance vehicles. In the cargo compartment, on the roof and on the back door of the base car a set of special equipment is installed, designed to study the situation, transfer information and perform other tasks. In addition, part of the special equipment is made in remote form.
As follows from the available data, the crew of the RHM-BB vehicle, consisting of three people (commander, driver chemist and reconnaissance chemist), can carry out a survey of potentially dangerous areas to detect various types of infections. According to the specification, the internal volume of the case of the reconnaissance vehicle must be separated by a hermetic partition into two compartments. In this case, the commander and the driver are placed in the front office, the reconnaissance chemist and special equipment are placed in the rear combat compartment. In addition, stacking for indicator and signaling means, remote equipment, etc. is provided in the aft of the hull.
The jobs of the commander and intelligence officer are equipped with a set of control devices for various systems. To simplify the work of the crew are widely used automated systems. Part of the control panels is made in a remote form and, if necessary, can be used outside of the reconnaissance vehicle.

The existing equipment is capable of detecting radiation, as well as conducting an analysis of atmospheric air with the search for chemical warfare agents and other threats. The study of contaminated terrain is provided both in direct presence at the site and remotely, using special laser equipment. Due to the relatively small (compared to other chassis) dimensions of the base vehicle, the device for conducting meteorological observations was made remote. After arriving at the indicated position, the crew of the reconnaissance vehicle must remove it from the installation, prepare it for work and install it on the ground.
To identify the infected zones, the РХМ-ВВ machine has special equipment located outside the body. On the spare wheel bracket on the rear door, a device is provided for installing flags, similar to the equipment of other reconnaissance chemical machines. While moving, a special throwing device drops and sticks flags into the ground, warning personnel of the presence of contamination. A stock of flags is provided in the fighting compartment, allowing for the marking of relatively large territories.
According to reports, at present, the only prototype of the reconnaissance chemical machine RHM-BB is being tested. After their completion, the customer will have to decide on the adoption of new equipment and the order of mass-produced vehicles. Details of the tests are still unknown. Perhaps the new information on this subject will appear before the end of this year.
