Rapid patrol boat project 03160 "Raptor"
High-speed patrol boats of the 03160 Raptor project are a series of coastal boats that can perform tasks in the daylight and at night. These high-speed boats in the fleet are planned to be used for patrolling the waters, landing of assault forces, performing search and rescue operations. Depending on the need, one such boat can transport an 20 man with weapons and equipment, as well as carry out military service in a given area, intercept and detain the boats of violators, etc. One of the features of the boats of this project is the fact that they are able to move at any course angles during sea swells up to 5 points inclusive: at a speed of 20 nodes with a wave height of 4,5 meters and at a speed of 28 nodes at a height of waves of 2,5 meters. Thus, the design of the boat provides him with excellent seaworthiness, high speed, safety and efficiency under different operating conditions.
The boats of the Raptor project are able to work in the coastal marine zone, in the straits and estuaries. The equipment installed on the boat allows to perform the assigned tasks at any time of the day at a distance of 100 miles from its base. The hull of the boats of this project is made of aluminum.
Appointment boats 03160 "Raptor":
- Delivery of groups of troops to 20 people with the highest possible speed during the embarkation and disembarkation of the group.
- Maintenance of duty in the specified areas.
- Ensuring the defense of naval ships' base sites on unprotected raids from attacks of small surface, ground and air targets.
- Ensuring the actions of special forces units from the marines in coastal areas, as well as assisting the forces of the Border Service of the Federal Security Service of Russia in carrying out tasks to protect the state border of the Russian Federation.
The armament of the boats of the Raptor project consists of a universal remotely controlled combat module "Uprava-KORD" with a caliber of 14,5 mm, which has a gyro-stabilized optoelectronic module (GOEM). The target detection range is 3 meters, the effective firing range is 000 meters. Additional weapons are two 2P000 Pecheneg machine guns of 6 mm caliber, which are mounted on swivel mounts.
The boats of the Raptor project are distinguished by the presence of armor protection. The premises of the special staff and the wheelhouse of the boat were equipped with armor protection, which corresponds to the Russian 5 and 5А protection classes. The portholes of the boat are made of bullet-resistant glass 39 mm thick.
The “X-NUMX” Raptor, project X-NUMX “X-NUMX”, with the serial number “274”, was launched on August 03160 on the 701 August. 15 August of the same year were carried out his factory tests. Since 2013 December 27, as part of the Novorossiysk naval base, the 31 boats of this project have been tested. 2014 March 3 of the year at the naval base of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia in Novorossiysk, the state acceptance commission conducted the acceptance of these patrol boats. 5 June 2015 on the Day of Russia on these boats were raised St. Andrew's flags, all three boats were enlisted in the detachment of anti-sabotage forces and means of the Novorossiysk naval base. We are talking about high-speed patrol boats "P-12" serial number "2015" and the first and second serial boats of this project with serial numbers "P-274" and "P-701" and serial numbers "275" and "276", respectively. The third serial boat of this project, the P-702, with the serial number "703", was launched in the 281 year. 704 March 2014, he was adopted by the state commission, after which he was taken to the base - in the port of Kronstadt. The high-speed patrol boat will be used to conduct various operations as part of the Baltic Fleet of Russia.
Externally, the new Russian boat being built at the Pella plant in St. Petersburg very much resembles the Swedish multi-purpose boats of the Strb 90H project, which are also known as CombatBoat 90 or CB90. These boats, designed and manufactured by the Swedish company Dockstavarvet, have been widely used since 1991. Total built more 250 boats of this type. The boat was quite successful and was adopted by a number of states. These boats are actively operated by the naval forces and various security agencies of Sweden, Norway, the USA, Greece, Mexico, Brazil and a number of other states. Most likely, the Russian Raptor has become a licensed version of the Swedish multi-purpose boat, which has expanded a number of numerous options and modifications of the original Strb 90H. At the same time, apparently, the Russian adaptation of the boat is slightly larger in size, received more powerful engines (due to this increased speed) and more powerful weapons. On the main Russian boats weapons is the 14,5-mm machine-gun module, while in the west mostly 12,7-mm machine guns are used.
In all countries in which the Strb 90H boats and their versions are in service, they are used to patrol waters, disembark amphibious assault forces, conduct search and rescue operations and conduct special operations. For all boats of this type is characterized by the presence of a nasal ramp landing, which is used for landing on the coast and the width is able to pass on one paratrooper at a time. Immediately behind the ramp there is a wheelhouse, in which the working places of two crew members are equipped. Behind the wheelhouse is the troop compartment, in which 20 people can be accommodated in comfortable seats. In addition to landing through the nasal ramp, paratroopers can land through the rear and top hatches of the landing compartment.
Ships project 03160 "Raptor" are not the first such boats, entered service in our country. From 2004 to 2012, the Federal Security Service (FSO) purchased the IC11MII design boats (building numbers 16, 534-548, 550, 558-569) from the Swedish company Dockstavarvet 574, which were used in various Russian waters. These boats were slightly reduced in size “commercial-law enforcement” variants of the popular Swedish small combat boats of the CombatBoat 90 project (CB90) and, unlike their military ancestors, did not have a full-scale reservation and weapons. Boats with building numbers 569 and 570 entered the FSO in 2011, initially they were based in Moscow, but in the fall of 2013, both boats were transported to Novorossiysk, where they were transferred to the Russian Navy. It is known that these boats were used to ensure safety during the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. After the boat, they transferred 9 in May 2014 to Sevastopol, where they participated in ensuring the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin there.
