Boeing looks to the future. What will helicopters look like in 2030?

Recently, in Washington, the company Boeing showed images that depict four helicopters, the alleged release of which is already planned for the 2030 year. This event occurred at a meeting of the American Military Association (Association of the US Army's, AUSA). And although a little less than two decades to come before the expected release of these helicopters, some of these prototypes are already undergoing preliminary flight tests.

The first of the helicopters demonstrated is a high-speed general-purpose transport helicopter, which will replace the MH-60 Blackhawk. Increased speed and efficiency of the helicopter provides horizontal traction screw, and small wings increase its carrying capacity.

For the new helicopter, the prototype was the “Piasecki X-49“ SpeedHawk ”, the creation of which began back in 2007 under a contract with the US Navy. Currently, SpeedHawk is participating in a flight test program.

The outlines of the second future helicopter are familiar. Its prototype was the Chinook transport helicopter. Is that the new helicopter, apparently, will become even more roomy and more.

Active readers are also well aware of the next project. He participates in the “DARPA DiscRotor” program of promising research programs of the US military. Specialists of the Boeing company are currently working on designing the 20% flying fully functional model of the Boeing helicopter.

And the fourth (last) project. This is an updated helicopter-aircraft "V-22 Osprey". Representatives of the company "Boeing" in the very near future made a promise regarding this project to provide more detailed information.

They are smart enough to squeeze out everything possible. Why build a new helicopter if it’s much cheaper to improve the old one. By the way, the Russian military-industrial complex also follows this principle and is very successful.
