Concern Radioelectronic Technologies (KRET) reported on last year's deliveries of new technology. In 2014, the Nizhny Novgorod NPO them. Frunze supplied the Ministry of Defense several sets of the latest small-sized 1L122 “Harmony” radar. The operation of these systems has already begun. For the first time in practice, the new radar was tested during the Olympic Games in Sochi, when it was used to monitor the air situation in the area of the competition.

Radar 1L122 "Harmony"

Two radars of the 1L122 family were first shown during the MAKS exhibition in 2009. The project has developed two versions of the radar. One of them was made in a portable version and can be transported as a different technique, and by calculation, and the second is mounted on a tracked chassis and has higher characteristics. The portable version of the station received the designation 1Л122-Е1, self-propelled - 1Л122-Е2. In addition, the stations are named "Harmony".

The Harmony systems are a new type of equipment for the Russian armed forces. Earlier, the troops did not have small-scale detection tools designed to work as part of the air defense. Radar 1Л122 can be used to detect targets in the interests of short-range and medium-range anti-aircraft missile batteries, troop defense, etc. In addition, these radars are suitable for use by air forces in order to quickly equip field airfields with the necessary equipment.

1L122 radars are designed to monitor the air situation, detect and track various objects, such as airplanes, helicopters, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, etc. The equipment of the stations automatically determines the nationality of the detected object, and also calculates and transmits information about the target parameters to consumers. In preparation for the operation, the radar independently performs topoprivacy using the GLONASS and GPS navigation systems.

The portable version of the station 1Л122Е-1 (also found the designation 1Л122-1Е) consists of several units for transport packed in special containers. The weight of each container does not exceed 30 kg. Dimensions and weight of containers allow you to transfer them by force of calculation. Radar "Harmony" in a portable version consists of three main blocks: antenna-hardware post, technical post and power supply unit. The assembly of the station and the preparation for the work of the calculation of three people takes about five minutes. The antenna-hardware station includes an antenna, a container with receiving and transmitting equipment, a turntable in the form of a tripod with mounts, and a ground-based radio interrogator. The technical post consists of equipment for processing the collected information, navigation equipment and a control panel with a monitor for displaying information about the air situation. In addition, the calculation has a radio station for communication.

The need to ensure mobility and minimum size has affected some of the characteristics of a portable radar. The total weight of its units does not exceed 150 kg. The 1Л122Е-1 system includes an antenna array with dimensions 1200х800 mm. The design of the turntable allows circular observation. Provides an overview of the zone from 5 ° to 45 ° by elevation. The station operating in the L-band is capable of detecting air targets at distances from 1 to 40 km at altitudes to 10 km. The maximum target speed detected is limited to 700 m / s.

The equipment of the station measures the distance to the target with an accuracy of 100 m. The error in azimuth does not exceed 0,5 °, in elevation - 1,5 °. Interference protection is provided: up to 55 dB in local subjects, 18 dB in noise-active and up to 40 dB in passive interference.

The radium "Harmony" in a portable version consumes 800 W at a voltage of 22-30 B. Power is provided by a separate unit, which is part of the complex.

Information on the purpose is displayed on the liquid crystal screen of the control panel. Data update is performed with a period of 2 or 4 with. Information about the routes and flight parameters of the detected targets can be transmitted to various consumers, both at the command center and anti-aircraft batteries.

Earlier at the exhibitions was demonstrated self-propelled radar "Harmony" - 1Л122-2, mounted on the MT-LBu chassis. A special boom with an antenna device was installed on the base machine, as well as control equipment and power supply system. Basing on a self-propelled chassis improved some of the characteristics of the complex. In particular, self-propelled 1L122-2 radar is equipped with antenna dimensions 1900х1800 mm, and the total weight of its units reaches 900 kg.

By using a more powerful transmitter and a lifting boom, on which the antenna is located, the target detection range is increased to 80 km, height - to 20 km. Rotating antenna keeps an overview of the sector from 0 ° to 60 ° in elevation. Other survey characteristics remained at the portable station level. The accuracy is slightly improved: the coordinates of the target are determined in azimuth with an accuracy of up to 0,3 °, in elevation - to 1 °. The self-propelled version of the Garmon radar consumes 5 kW of electricity.

In February last year, it was reported about the conduct of exercises using portable radar "Harmony" at the site Navaglou (Abkhazia). In this training, more than ten units of various types of military equipment were used. The task of calculating the 1Л122Е-1 radar was to monitor the air situation and transfer data to anti-aircraft gunners. For the attack of conditional targets, the Osa-AKM, Strela-10, etc. complexes were responsible.

It is known that at the beginning of last year, the Russian armed forces received a number of new radar stations. Several such systems were used in the Sochi area during the Olympics, ensuring the safety of facilities, athletes and spectators. Together with the Garmon stations, the Thor anti-aircraft missile systems were involved in protecting the Sochi airspace.

Yes, even a "chegunk", if only they did not put it in the oven. I think that the next version can also be called "Talianka". The main thing is that the complex itself is very necessary and is able to greatly help in saving the life of our fighter.

How interesting. And what were the Gadfly and Assembly? And then, such small-sized radars are needed not several a year, but several dozen

The trend, however, with an interval of a week, in VO to publish articles devoted to the same event smile
As for the "gadfly", look at the year of issue and the performance characteristics, the article could possibly have an excursion into history, but is devoted to a specific event. As for the quantity, I think both in our country and in Israel, the military budget is not unlimited, probably between "accordion" and "sky" or "demonstrator" (in order to, in principle, take the latter into service) choose the second and third

Friends, have you seen the pictures of amerskih radar stations for observing art and mortar fire? Dimensions, entourage ... In-in, their "station" reminds me of the "Stone Age ...", well, or the 50-60s of the previous century!
I myself am a specialist (not great, though, but at the level of rationalization proposals and a couple of inventions ...) in the field of radar.

If you think that under the cover there is a radio-transparent fairing, and if it is a segmented AFAR?

Well, have you seen the picture of "Harmony"? And she DOES NOT SPIN! What questions can there be? PAR or AFAR?
Why does the amerskaya station have a round "plywood"?
Even so. Behind, too, like should "smell"? Rave....

it's all about the high speeds of a flying projectile - the main purpose of their radar and the need to update this information with a high frequency to determine the trajectory of movement, so most likely the antenna really has a segmented structure

Well, it’s in vain that their station is capable of detecting a flying projectile and tracing its trajectory and calculating the location of the gun that released it. Against this background, our product looks like a stone age. By the way, something I have not heard about the creation of such systems with us. in the place of a soldier in the photo, I would not stand so close to the radiating transmitter of the L range even in the radar shadowing zone

Well, why so soon. If this thing can quickly take control of the desired area or object, and let's say detect small or ultra-small UAVs. That turns out a very interesting development.

For this purpose, the "Aistenok" has other tasks for "Harmony". Perhaps it is "Gramone" in conjunction with something else that will cover our communication centers or other important objects from all sorts of "Spikes".
And the soldier there is marching for furniture to show the dimensions of the installation. The place is really not for a happy demobilization smile

If I understand correctly those who are discussing, then the characteristics of "Harmony" are lower than those of the "old" of our opponents. Thus, it turns out that this is not an advance, but a "catch-up" with the worst effect. I would call it "sabotage" (although this concept is already pretty worn out). It seems like they do it according to the principle: if only it was for accountability am
