The American company JMS announced the creation of the stealth boatAmerican, little known to a wide range of ordinary people, the company Juliet Marine Systems (JMS), located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA, 10 August 2011, announced that she received permission from the US Navy to declassify the experimental low-profile military boat GHOST (GID), in in which for the first time in the world the technology of "super-cavitation" is applied. According to the company’s representative, the GHOST was designed and built entirely by “US citizens to provide the US Navy with new technical equipment without the slightest government funding. The main goal of the boat is to provide American naval sailors with waterborne vehicles with maximum protection for life.”

The development of the first super-cavitation system made it possible to create a ship navigating at water at supersonic speeds. At its core, GHOST is a kind of hybrid between a ship and an aircraft that moves due to the created underwater gaseous environment, which creates body friction with the surface 900 times less than ordinary water. According to the developers, the GHOST technology can be successfully used in manned or unmanned land and water vehicles.

Any fleet with GHOST technology will be able to carry out various combat missions in the territorial waters of the enemy and remain unnoticed, which ultimately will be the main factor in gaining advantage in confrontation with conventional ships. GHOST refers to technologies that can be used on ships much more than a regular boat. In particular, today JMS is discussing the plan for building a 150 foot corvette in close cooperation with an international company engaged in the development of military systems. The name of the company that agreed to the development of a ship using the GHOST technology has not been disclosed. The US Navy can reduce its financial expenses for the maintenance of the naval forces by deploying a squadron of GHOST in Bahrain. In particular, cruisers and destroyers stationed in the region will be able to return to their bases in the United States, and this will lead to savings in labor and maintenance costs. GHOST is an ideal tool for fighting sea pirates, as well as an excellent tool for civilian use. The global shipping industry using JMS-developed hull to reduce friction due to super-cavitation will receive significant fuel savings.
