The US military wants to endow the soldiers with inhuman abilities

He assures that the system created by the specialists of the center will be easier, smaller and smarter than the reconnaissance and night vision devices presented today. In addition to a set of powerful infrared sensors that allow you to evaluate the picture of the battlefield at any time of the day, as well as in thick smoke, fog and abnormal temperatures, the system will include in its composition a device for enhancing image clarity. In addition, scientists are working on the development of the control display, which is planned to be integrated into the composition of the soldiers' uniforms.
Using a multifunctional video display with a touch screen will help to quickly analyze data from sensors, highlight immediate threats to the fighter and get the most accessible information about them. Apparently, a minicomputer will be connected to such a display, which will be responsible for analyzing the situation developing in the battle. In addition to the image, various characteristics of the targets will be displayed (digital vision of the famous T-800 cinema robot terminator worked in the same way). After the target has been identified, the user will be able to aim with a laser marker. Dr. Rego himself notes: “Today, the research center for electronics and communications is located at the forefront in the development of such systems for military equipment and infantry units. Over time, we will give our military the ability to "predators" from the eponymous feature film. "
In an interview with the Russian Planet, Alexander Khramchikhin, deputy head of the Institute for Political and Military Analysis, noted that the system being created in the United States must be assessed quite carefully, since the results of the field tests are not even known yet. In words, everything can sound very smoothly and well, but how effective the system will be in the field, in real combat, can only show a complete test, in which many factors will interact with each other. In addition, the issue remains not so much the possibilities as the price of such systems.
Khramchikhin believes that in the Russian Federation, advanced technologies for ground forces are traditionally practically not used. Previously, such a question did not even stand - the infantry was always perceived as a consumable item. The understanding of what is wrong came gradually. At the same time, adaptation to the new realities of wars is taking place with us. For a long time, nothing like this has been created in us, but now, looking back at foreign developments, we are beginning to frantically catch up with them, the Russian expert notes.
If you go back to the Americans, then the department, which is headed by Dr. Don Rego, has real experience in developing advanced electronic devices. Previously, with the participation of this center, a long-range observation and reconnaissance system was developed under the designation LRAS3. This system can be installed on various armored vehicles. The infrared long-wave infrared imager used in the system, the GPS-system for determining the targets and the ordinary video camera allow the intelligence officers to detect the targets long before establishing direct contact with them.
LRAS3 (Long-Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System) - an advanced long-range reconnaissance and surveillance system, this touch kit comes already from Raytheon. The kit is able to detect, recognize, identify, as well as determine geolocation data of remote targets. The structure of this complex reconnaissance system includes an 2 generation thermal imager with HTI (Horizontal Technology Integration) technology implemented. The device has two fields of view. Also included is an ordinary daytime camera, which also has two fields of view. In addition, the LRAS3 uses a laser range finder safe for the human eye with a range of 10 kilometers, as well as an integrated GPS subsystem with GPSIS interferometric measurement.
The use of all these subsystems allows the LRAS3 complex to efficiently locate targets at a distance of 10 kilometers less than half a second after they are illuminated by a laser beam having a circular probable deviation of less than 60 meters.
In the event that the American engineers and the military manages to realize their aspirations and create a full-fledged multisensory system, it is likely to complement the TALOS (Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit), which is developed by the US Special Operations Command. We are talking about a light tactical suit, which would give the soldier "super abilities." According to the most optimistic forecasts, tests of such a suit may begin in the next three years.
A light suit for US troops involves the use of an exoskeleton, which would seriously increase the strength and endurance of a fighter. In addition, it is planned to use a layer of "smart" materials and a variety of sensors. Together, all of these sensors would be able to monitor many of the infantry’s vital signs — his pulse rate, body temperature, and even the level of water in his body. It was even planned to build devices in the suit to provide first aid to a soldier for injuries. In addition, the suit is planned to be equipped with access to the network and with special glasses, similar to the already existing Google Glass. The main requirement for a new outfit is a combination of innovative armor, exoskeleton, sensors and displays of control of the strength and health of a fighter, as well as powerful weapons. This is also the main problem of development, which does not allow to say for sure when such a “miracle” will find a real embodiment in life.
