NPO Strela has shown a radar reconnaissance vehicle SNAR-10М1
Self-propelled radar reconnaissance station SNAR-10М1 is a further development of the equipment of the СNАR-10 family using new equipment and new element base. The purpose of the machine remains the same. In the armed forces, this technique must monitor and detect various ground, surface and low-flying air targets. The station SNAR-10М1 is capable of detecting single and group moving ground targets, for example, armored vehicles and equipment groups or enemy enemy strength.
In addition, the station can be used to monitor the waters and air space at low altitudes, which allows timely detection of ships, boats, airplanes or helicopters. An important feature of the complex is the ability to detect ruptures of artillery shells, which allows you to control artillery fire.
As before, the MT-LB tracked chassis, which has undergone some changes, is used as the base for the radar reconnaissance mobile station. The necessary electronic equipment is installed in the middle and aft parts of the base machine. A module with antenna equipment is mounted on the stern roof. According to the developer, the combat mass of the machine SNAR-10М1 reaches 12,7 tons. The chassis provides highway speeds up to 60 km / h.
To ensure the efficiency of electronic equipment, the intelligence machine carries a separate diesel generator. This unit supplies electricity to all onboard systems, including climate equipment. Comfortable work of the crew of four is provided by air conditioning, heating system and filter-ventilation unit. Declared the possibility of autonomous operation of the complex for three days. The time of continuous operation of electronic systems is limited to 24 hours.
The radar antenna is located in the back of the case of the SNAR-10М1 machine. The antenna design provides an azimuth range from 12 to 360 degrees in 6 ° increments. Electronic equipment allows you to monitor the situation at distances from 200 m to 40 km. At such distances, the complex CHAP-10М1 is able to find various moving targets, from vehicles to shells.
A moving person is detected at a distance of about 15 km, for a tank-type target this parameter is 35 km. In addition, the radar machine SNAR-10М1 can be used to monitor the work of artillery. The detection range of ground artillery shells is 10 km, for surface gaps, this parameter is twice as large.
The use of new elements of the equipment allowed to significantly improve the accuracy of target detection in comparison with the previous modifications of the complex. СNАR-10М1 can determine the distance to a moving target with an accuracy of 10 m. The errors in determining the azimuth are reduced to 0,12 °.
The machine SNAR-10М1 is equipped with equipment that allows you to monitor the situation in a particular sector, receive and process data, and transmit information about the detected targets to the command post. To enhance the performance in the complex of electronic equipment, there is a navigation system with an electronic map of the area and satellite navigation equipment.
The armored hull of the base chassis MT-LB protects the crew and electronics from small bullets weapons and artillery shell fragments. For self-defense, the SNAR-10М1 radar reconnaissance vehicle has a PKT machine gun of 7,62 caliber mm. This weapon is mounted in the commander's turret, located in front of the roof, at the starboard side.
In May of this year, NPO Strela announced the completion of state tests of the complex SNAR-10М1. The radar reconnaissance complex successfully coped with the tests and showed its characteristics. Details of the test of the new machine are unknown. News about the passage of a complex of state tests suggest that in the foreseeable future it will be adopted and put into serial production.
After the start of serial production and deliveries to the troops, the new CHAR-10М1 machines will gradually replace the outdated equipment of similar purpose with the SNAR-10 Leopard, and then, possibly, the newer CHAR-10M Panther systems. The base machine of the family of radar reconnaissance systems was supplied to the troops from the beginning of the seventies, in the middle of the two thousandth it was replaced by a newer CHAP-10M. Approximately ten years after that, the troops can receive another updated and improved version of the mastered equipment - СНАР-10М1.
