"Rubber" sell
The leadership of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation continues to argue that pneumatic models are necessary for equipping false positions of combined arms units, visual simulation of transportation tanks over long distances by rail and road tractors with heavy trailers. In addition, dummies are used to equip false zones of aircraft concentration (airfields). These measures are designed to divert the enemy's attention from a real, covert redeployment. aviation units from operating military airfields.
The creators of the models claim that their products are not just an exact replica of real military equipment, but also reproduce radiation in the near infrared, thermal and radar range, similar to night vision devices. In the near future will be added and play radio range. Of course, behind all these statements about the technical capabilities of the so-called "rubber" military equipment, its developers forget to mention that all these features are provided with additional systems and special materials, which is not only difficult, but also expensive, for deceiving the enemy.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation made a decision on annual deliveries to the balance of military units about 100 models of real military equipment. In the near future, the total number of "rubber" military equipment will reach 800 units. But in this case, first of all, the prices of certain samples look amazing, in particular, the layout of the aircraft is estimated at 1,2 million rubles, the tank is somewhat cheaper - 450 thousand rubles. Is it really a normal price for the layout, even if it has additional features?
But in this matter there are a lot of nuances, and they are connected, first of all, with the transportation of mock-ups, which should resemble the redeployment of real combat equipment. As is known, in the transportation of military equipment there are subtleties that the intelligence centers of all states are well aware of.
It seemed that it could be difficult to organize the transportation of prototypes of military equipment on railway platforms - cargo and cargo. But not everything is so simple. Sending a military echelon is a difficult task, it is a whole complex of events in which a large number of representatives from both the Ministry of Defense and Russian Railways take part. It should not be forgotten that a potential adversary can have an agent network in these structures as well as among local residents. After all, the appearance of a tank battalion in a certain area will cause a number of questions from the enemy. What kind of battalion? Place the previous deployment? Which way? Total number of tanks? Accordingly, it is imperceptible and difficult to load air tanks unnoticed by the enemy onto platforms of iron transport. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account the fact that after all the previous re-formations in the air of the “new look” there remains an extremely limited number of tank regiments and tank battalions in separate motorized rifle subunits, the potential adversary is quite well aware of their permanent deployment points. Another important issue is the feature of transporting tanks by rail: the tower is turned back to 180 degrees, and the gun is locked with a towing cable. Accordingly, the layout should be made with a swivel tower.
The most difficult event is the transportation by air, as it will require a huge number of departures of transport aircraft. Of course, one plane can take out all the folded layouts, but you need to simulate the transportation of not one tank, but a whole tank battalion, which at least is 30 tanks. So in terms of money will come out extremely expensive.
When transporting military equipment by water transport, there are also obvious vulnerabilities. If, for example, a military train passing through the western part of the country can easily get lost in a fairly dense railway network, then you can’t say anything about water transport, its path is fairly easy to control.
Layouts can, of course, play a role in the disinformation of the enemy, but no more. For example, in combat, their need is reduced to zero. Apply the "rubber" tank in a real battle is not possible in any form, including distracting. On arms of modern armies there is the equipment capable to distinguish real thermal signals from imitating.
In general, there is no particular sense from mockups that even perfectly imitate real military equipment, and it is obvious that all these developments are nothing but ordinary fraud when armies sell balloons that the wind can carry away at any time. But despite this, the Ministry of Defense continues to order "rubber" military equipment and argue that it is an extremely necessary means of disinformation of the enemy. Or maybe it is not the benefit of the army, and personal gain?
