Army "hazing" invincible?

It is impossible not to agree with the popular claim that real life experience comes only when the number of mistakes made personally turns into quality. But if in a civil life this statement has the right to use, which has been proven for many years, then mistakes made in the army will never turn into quality. The army is a school of life for any man, but the army must not only train military specialists, but also educate young people. Unfortunately, to say that our army is truly a tutor is impossible. First of all, it is connected with such a negative phenomenon as hazing. Dedovshchina is struggling and eradicated not one year, but, despite all the attempts, it continues to exist, and this is one of the factors that make young people not willing to go to serve. They just do not want to be humiliated. However, these same young people after a certain period of service themselves humiliate younger co-workers, and so from year to year.

A few years ago, the Russian army moved to a new term of service, and senior military officials assured one and all that there was no bullying now and it could not be for the simple reason that after switching to a one-year term of service, all appeals are almost equal in age and between them non-statutory relations can not be a priori. But in the end nothing good came of this decision. Instead of senior soldiers, young conscripts are now mocked by contract soldiers and single conscripts, but they are members of groups of compatriots. It should be noted that the very concept of bullying is not limited to the term of service, it is something else, and the army itself with its established system of relations is to blame for this. A large number of regular officers, who are confident that it is intra-army relations that are the very bullying, are inclined towards such a thought.

To understand what is happening today in the army, consider a few examples.
Seven sailors, immigrants from the Republic of Dagestan, served in one of the military units of the Baltic fleet. These servicemen were punished for bullying their co-workers. Six of them were sentenced to between 1,5 and 1,9 years in prison, and the seventh, which for some unknown reason passed at first as a witness, was eventually sentenced to probation. It began with the fact that in August 2010, convicts brutally beat one of the servicemen, and after that forced 26 of their military comrades to lie on the ground, but not just, but so that their bodies made up the inscription KAVKAZ. According to the information provided by the Prosecutor General’s Office, during the investigation of the criminal case, which was instituted against Caucasian sailors, other negative facts were revealed, in particular, extortion and theft of personal property from conscripts. The offenders were charged with extortion, robbery and, most importantly, of hazing. On the issue of the presence of hazing in this case, we note that the convicted Dagestanis were younger than those who were bullied.

An interesting thought on this issue was expressed by the second rank captain Nikolai Vasiutin, deputy. commander of one of the military units of the Northern Fleet for educational work: "Honestly, if the pension did not come nearer, which I earned in absolute terms and which nobody would take away from me, I certainly would not have talked about hazing. Too slippery and at the same time a topical issue, its leaders too much tolerate. Practically formed men come to the army and the navy. Alas, the times of the USSR, where the patriotic and pre-conscription education of young people was put on the highest level, have long passed. were born after the collapse of the Soviet Union! Young people brought up in service, brought up by dashing and rampant 90, tried and sometimes addicted to drugs and alcohol, brought up on endless gangster serials and stupefied by movements and sects like skinheads, ready and so It is with this personnel that we are now forced to serve. Of course, you cannot speak with them in their language, but sometimes they just don’t understand a normal language.

What is the way out? In strengthening the pre-draft training system, which was lost with the collapse of the USSR. It is necessary to introduce in military units of new, but such necessary additional posts as officer-tutors, officers-psychologists. You should not be ashamed of and avoid developing a system of religious education, which should not be limited to the Orthodox faith, but should include Muslim faith, Buddhism, and Judaism. Do not neglect the technical means of monitoring personnel during the stay of military personnel in the barracks and cabin. First of all, this is due to the fact that it is much cheaper to put a video camera than to deal with the "feats" of barracks criminals - "grandfathers" and "countrymen". Of course, this is not all available measures to combat such negative phenomena as hazing and fraternity, but they can become the basis for further struggle! "

As another example, let's take information that appeared in the media not so long ago. In Novosibirsk, the trial began on the rather complicated and unattractive case of the major of the local military unit Nikolai Levoy. A cadre officer defended the soldiers against the arbitrariness of a group of fellow countrymen - Dagestan soldiers. Djigits quickly mastered the new conditions of life and laid aside a tribute to draftees who entered the service from other regions of Russia. From their comrades they demanded up to half of the monthly allowance, and those who refused to pay were severely beaten.

Throughout the year, Russian soldiers meekly submitted and suffered mockery. But patience, in the end, came to an end, in part there was a real riot. The order was brought with difficulty, information about the current situation reached the top military leadership. Dagestanis immediately seconded to other units. But the army can not be guilty, and someone has to answer for the unrest - this is the most that there is an emergency! Responsible for all called Major Left.

But strangely enough, in the course of an internal investigation it was established that the major pursued only one goal - the protection of injured military personnel. The members of the commission knew this very well, but they believed the Dagestanis, who, with tears in their eyes, told how the evil and bad Major Left had turned other soldiers against them and how he sowed international discord. It's a shame that they believed the criminals, and not the other servicemen and the officer himself. Of course, now the cadre officer will be punished, and the “honest” Dagestanis will reach the deadline and return home to talk about their “heroic deeds”. If such an approach to the consideration of cases involving non-statutory relations will be applied in the future, then it is not worth talking about the eradication of non-statutory relations.

For the most part, this problem relates to social life, and this is what Sergey Akinfiev, an associate professor and candidate of sociological sciences, said in an interview about this: "According to the results of a large-scale study conducted in 2010 in north-west Russia, due to non-statutory relations 39% of young people refuse to serve in the army categorically, resorting to "deviation", which is against the law. 29% hope for a delay. There is no internal rejection of military service, no fear of dedovshchina among the rest. 10-15 years ago, such data have been completely different. And the prestige of the modern army is growing. By the way, definitely noticed that the higher the increase in military salaries, the fact that very prestige specified above! "

The opinion of psychologists on this issue is also curious, and Igor Yanushev, a psychologist and a candidate of medical sciences, sees the situation in the army: "It should be noted that today, of course, there is no positive attitude to the army, which was, let's say, in Soviet times: it was believed that if a young man did not serve his due date by age, it means that he has a serious illness. This is the current reality: unfortunately, the prestige of military service has declined significantly, as people say, “below the baseboard.” According to official data, it is no longer hundreds, but tens of thousands. What is most controversial about this issue is that the higher the standard of living, the greater the "deviationists"! You can tell anything about the armed forces, but against obvious data statistics, as they say, you can not argue and do not argue ... "

To increase the prestige of the army, it is necessary to save soldiers from such shameful activities as whitewashing borders, laying cubes of snow, endless cleaning, shameful outfits (these are the instruments of humiliation of the old over young) and replace all this with constant training, shooting, and extreme driving classes for drivers.
And give all the affairs of the household, security, to private hands. At least for the example of the Swiss army.

I wonder what the lieutenants and the rest were doing at that time. In my opinion, hazing from idleness, as the army says, a soldier must be busy all day, so that there would be neither time nor energy for insubstance, digging from the rise to the end with a break for lunch (figuratively), and if someone else remains forces, cross in full calculation for the entire unit around the part and offset for the latter.
Regarding religion, it should not be in the army, it will distract from service, otherwise the ROC’s church, mosque and Buddha’s temple, etc.
We must understand for a long time that tolerance and liberalism do not belong in the army. The warrior who receives money from the communities, so that their children are covered up, must be driven with a broom with the removal of epaulets and awards.
Well, household. work to give to civilians.

Hmm, do you really need all these Dagestanis in the army, etc.? In the event of a serious conflict with the Russian Federation, they are likely to scatter over the mountains instead of defending their "homeland." These territories will not bring anything but problems to your state and will not. Serious problems are being tackled more radically. No, I'm not a racist. I just think the connivance and flirting of the Russian government is an open weakness. These problems have already become serious for you, and must be tackled harshly.

In the meantime, you can spray Dzhigits in different parts - are there really few parts in Russia? - thus, so as not to collect in each individual more than 2-3 pieces of this subspecies of people. Moreover, there are all sorts of units engaged in very dirty work? Send sources of strife there, adding up the deadline.

Prison is not a way out IMHO. There, these entities ripen, creating even more problems for your state and people.

With regard to bullying - it is beneficial for military personnel up to junior officers. By the way, what will the commanders of their subordinates teach and how will they educate them if many smart people leave the Armed Forces because of the government's boorish attitude to the issue of providing for the army? These are the ones they themselves bring up. It is impossible to eliminate bullying "from above" by dripping on the brains of battalions. This must be done in the bud - to introduce forgotten norms into the culture even from childhood. And then they stuff the youth with all sorts of dirt about the adventures of bandits in the world on TV and the Internet.

I hope the idea is clear, sorry for the "many beeches"

noname apparently you have watched the Dagestanis scatter so many times - that you could not stand it, and honestly told everything here.
And the identification of problems in the territory of IT, i.e. not at all yours, the state, trust those who are citizens of this state. At the expense (more than 2-3 pieces of this subspecies of people) - I think you would be embarrassed to repeat it during a live conversation.

Dear DAGESTAN333, a person has no expressed balance, during the army or officer courses after high school, the latter is more tragic ...
Concerning the Caucasus or Transcaucasia, honestly, I've seen enough ...
We arrived at a classmate (he’s a jacket) to the unit, I see that a Caucasian is beating him up, and his immediate boss, a combat commander (major), is standing and looking at the whole thing ... we are honestly fucked up ... as a result, the attempt to separate ended in a fight with sidekick, which he popped on my comrade, I’m HZ (he’s a Marine, after urgency - FPS lieutenant), he smacked him in black, but nonetheless it ended for him (the jacket) it’s sad, he was fired ... As they said in ancient times you want to raise discipline in the army, make it engage in fortification ... or as my grandfather says, Aimee them anything with a break for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so my opinion, to blame the officers, from the platoon (Lieutenant) to the commander (Colonel - Major General), or who is in FIG do not need ...

Hazing (anniversary) from inaction. In the early nineties he served on the KSF, in the second submarine crew. While there was practically no year-old ship on the ship, there’s just no time, every day you have at least 2 training alarms every now and then. You don’t even want to think at sea that some kind of offended crucian will give you a trick (for example, it will pierce). But in the base, while the first crew on the ship, the further the more. Boring, personnel officers are also not enthusiastic about the barracks, here the mess is blooming.

Or maybe society is to blame? After all, it’s not in the army that a behavior model is laid down in a person — to humiliate, rob the one who is weaker than you. The army is a cast from society, here just certain qualities are hypertrophied due to the isolation of the environment. If at school a young man can hide for a while from the aggressor, then in the army you either fight back or you are humiliated. Of course, the moral climate in the team largely depends on the officers, but the father’s commander will not be able to physically take each soldier by the handle into the latrine, so that the hooligans would not offend him there.
The problem is that Western society is being imposed on our society and offered to fight against unsolvable vices of Western society.
Hazing in the Russian army has always been. Remember at least "Tell me, uncle ...", because a soldier refers to the "grandfather" of that time, old-timers have always been the backbone of the army, keepers of traditions, and these traditions were completely different. "Only old men go into battle", "do not go into the scorching heat in advance" and many others. The old-time servant has always been a teacher and mentor, this is the model of behavior characteristic of Russian soldiers. Only with the beginning of the Cultural Revolution and the inculcation of Western values began piaraction in which they picturesquely describe how to humiliate a colleague and briefly or do not mention what punishment followed this, not because there was no punishment, but because the goal is to advertise the ways as much as possible and the forms of these humiliations. This goal, by the way, was pursued by the film by Germanicus "School".
There is nothing to blame on the mirror, if the mug is crooked.

I served as an emergency in the Air Force. There were many Caucasians in the regiment. Hazing was tough. During the ascent in the cockpit, an officer who came in could be thrown with a boot or a stool. The regiment was transferred from the Air Force to the Air Defense. A new commander was appointed. Hazing disappeared like smoke after 2 weeks. As a sergeant, they began to give me the honor of privates and corporal, not to mention ensigns and officers. So much for the eternal Russian question - Who is to blame? And what to do? By the way, under the tsar, the "Wild Division" was formed from representatives of the Caucasian nationalities, which proved to be excellent as a military unit.

I served as an urgent service in the USSR, in the Siberian Military District. We had hazing, had different forms. Soldiers clustered in groups of communities (Asians, Balts, Caucasians, Ukrainians, Moldovans - with slight variations), Russian-speaking - at the place of conscription. There were not many extreme manifestations in our unit. The service life hierarchy worked in principle. At the techies, specialists, drivers, old-timers prepared their shift. Well, it could not do without cracks and punching the "plywood" for the "jambs". Traditionally, order in the barracks was maintained by a junior (not even one of the squad) conscription under the supervision of the company officer on duty. If the "national" "grandfathers" tuned their young people, like "don’t panymay ryuski", then they could give the "grandfather" a tambourine. This whole situation suited the officers and warrant officers. The basic principle was this: no matter how "order" is ensured - the main thing is that it be there. Vainakhs, Dagestanis, Muscovites and Leningraders were not allowed to gather more than two (or even one). Served fine. I still correspond with my army acquaintances. And not only his call. But next to us the construction part was lodged, so there the orders are real, as in the "zone" were. There they raped, and there were extortions, and they were forced to work on the construction site, and they took away the rations (four Russian guys from Rostov-papa built the whole company).

Fighting hazing is simple and difficult. The good news is that there is already a legal framework for dealing with hazing. Bad news: no one benefits from fighting it.
For example, a comrade or platoon discovered hazing in his unit and reported where necessary (say to the military prosecutor’s office). Everyone knows what will happen to him from his superiors. Type spoiled all indicators. His bosses will catch up with the battalion, they say, look what kind of mess you have going on. And the career of a true lover will come to an end.
In other armies, if unrest is revealed (and it happens with them), then if it turns out that the commander knew and did not report, goodbye to the army and pension.
