Senators were told about the principles of the formation of the Aerospace Defense Forces

The Federation Council Committee held a retreat on defense and security. The venue of the meeting was the main center of the missile attack warning system. We will describe some of the details of the conversation below.

Senators were invited to a secret facility in Solnechnogorsk, a suburb of Moscow, by Oleg Ostapenko, the commander of the Space Forces of the Russian Federation. It was in the headquarters of the space forces that the conceptual issues of the formation in the Russian Federation of a new kind of armed forces — the Aerospace Defense Forces — were developed. Visitors were interested in the question of which way the creation of the aerospace defense will go, which units and subunits will be included in its composition, and what tasks will be solved with its help. General Ostapenko gave the senators answers to all their questions.

According to the chairman of the committee of the Council of Federations, Viktor Ozerov, the specialists of the space forces headquarters have already decided on the stages of this large-scale work. Already by December 1, they intend to report to the country's president on the establishment of the East Kazakhstan armies and on their readiness for combat duty. Ozerov said that during the formation of the aerospace defense and the creation of a new kind of troops, the general principles and the same approaches that were once used to create the country's air defense, but adjusted for new realities and modern threats, are used.

For obvious reasons, the military do not disclose the true number of vehicles and personnel that will be transferred to new troops. Nevertheless, it is known that air defense brigades will be included in the aerospace defense forces, as well as EW units, missile defense units and facilities that are included in the missile attack warning system. It is also possible that elements of a space surveillance system will be attached to them.

Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Nikolai Makarov said earlier that space troops are one of the elements of all components of aerospace defense. VKO is being created under the General Staff of the country's armed forces, under his leadership, and the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces will manage the aerospace defense.

Makarov believes that the military does not have the right to make mistakes in this very important issue for the state. Therefore, a concept was developed for the formation of aerospace defense before 2020, which determines the sequence and nature of actions. The Chief of the General Staff noted that the Aerospace Defense should integrate all the available forces and means, which are currently not enough, to be multi-layered in range and altitude. Also, according to the chief of the General Staff, the army will start receiving products for the needs of East Kazakhstan region next year. What kind of products are waiting in the Armed Forces, the officer did not specify. We can only assume that we are most likely talking about the latest means of controlling space and airspace, as well as new anti-missile systems and air defense systems C-400. According to some information, the Russian Ministry of Defense lays big plans for the entry into the troops of the advanced C-500 anti-aircraft missile system, which is capable of destroying supersonic targets at a distance of up to 600 kilometers. The appearance of this system in the Armed Forces is expected by the year 2020.

It is worth noting that Makarov is opposed to the East Kazakhstan region being built by eliminating equipment and weapons from military districts. He is convinced that the ideal option would be to equip the newly created structure with a completely new arsenal. But as long as it is not in sufficient quantity, therefore, some objects and some equipment will have to work on the general system of the East Kazakhstan region and on the districts. It must be borne in mind that the individual elements of the future structure today are subject to the "cosmic" command. In particular, it closes all the radar stations and satellites of the rocket attack warning system, the complexes and control centers for outer space, as well as the Don-2Н detection radar stations and anti-missile defense systems. Also to the aerospace defense will be added the means and forces of air defense, which today command the Air Force.

Valery Ivanov, the commander of the new troops, quite clearly defined the main functions of the Aerospace Defense. According to him, to identify the beginning of the attack and notify the leadership of the state to make further decisions about the detection, destruction, suppression and cover of objects - this is the main task that is being placed before the aerospace defense.
