Double-barreled machine gun Tactics Group MG-14z

29
In the latest European armory At the exhibitions, a small but rapidly growing company Tactics Group GmbH from Frankfurt (Germany) attracted great attention, which presented the P-18 - a modern version of the Austrian Steyr-Mannlicher GB pistol, equipped with the Barnitzke gas braking system, as well as an unusual modernized version of the German rifle "Fallschirmjägergewehr" Fg42, created during the Second World War, according to the website all4shooters.com.

It is worth noting that the Tactics Group company has also established itself in the field of military development as the only distributor in Europe of the modular system of smooth-bore assault weapons C-More M26-MASS, which is in service with the American army. The company also collaborates with Rheinmetall in the Kamp fwertsteigerung program - Increasing Combat Power, which is developing a modernized version of the single machine gun Mg3-KWS 7.62x51mm-NATO for the German Bundeswehr.

But the most original development of the company, which is in a promising stage, received the designation MG-14z. In practice, this is a double-barreled machine gun designed to increase the firepower of the formations that have Mg3 machine guns or various Mg42 variants, including Italian-made MG-42 / 59 or former Yugoslav SARAC-53.

MG-14z received two receiver boxes from MG3 machine guns. All its other parts have been redesigned and redesigned. Among them are new barrels with vented metal covers, receivers, a feeding system, throwing sleeves down, a single pistol grip and trigger, as well as a common carriage. There is little information about the current state of the MG-14z project, but according to company representatives, it will be completed, becoming an “inexpensive alternative” to Minigun machine guns.

In my opinion, it is overkill, and there is a much more progressive solution - the Gast scheme. And so it reminds the beginning of the epidemic of "doubling" of everything and everyone, launched by the paired 1911 Colt.

It seems that the developers from the Tactics Group began to review the films they saw in their youth.

Allegedly "experimental Russian Avtomat AO-63", developed by Simonov and Tkachev, which turned out to be an alteration of the South African R1 (FN FAL modification).

          One of your favorite movies?

          Watching new movies is sickening.
It’s better to watch a black-and-white film about Stirlitz or with Jackie about bones,
than snot about the full moon or heresy about the battle of the immortals ...

I watch any movie several times: first like everyone else, and then with pauses and rewinds.
I look at what equipment and what weapons are used as props.
The number of shot cartridges has long ceased to count wink

Apparently, this film was shot somewhere in South Africa during the confrontation between South Africa and Angola. The technique there is also interesting flickers.

              Absolutely right.
Here's what we managed to dig:
Filming of the Red Scorpion took place in Namibia and was funded from neighboring South Africa.
Money from the apartheid government went through the International Freedom Foundation, another Abramoff think tank.
A bargain (film budget plus one and a half million dollars annually to the foundation itself in exchange for promoting the image of Nelson Mandela and the National African Congress headed by him as international terrorists and agents of Moscow) was arranged for Jack by his new acquaintance and spiritual mentor - South African rabbi David Lapin. N
and David Jack was brought out by his American brother, Rabbi Daniel,

        Double machine gun, so-so.
More interesting is the FG42 rifle?
        That's what is interesting!
The device was good before (unless it was low-tech), and upgraded?

Frankly speaking, there is nothing new in this, everything was invented before the Second World War, so to speak, well forgotten old. And the "inexpensive alternative" to the "minigun" will result in increased weight and dimensions, which is not good.

Well, here I would not make hasty conclusions. If we talk about the minigun, then the body of the machine gun weighs 24-30 kg. rate of fire - 3000-4000 rds / min. add power dependency here. The twin MG 42 described in the article, also known as MG 3 - weight 10,5-11,6 kg, firing rate - 1100-1500 rds / min (source http://world.guns.ru/machine/de/mg-42 -and-mg-3-r.html)
that is, the spreaded MG 42 by weight is about 25 kg. (weight without cartridges, machine tools, etc.), the rate of fire can reach 3000 rds / min (although the figure 2200-2500 seems to be more realistic) That is, the paired MG in weight and pace is very close to the minigun, but probably loses to the minigun in "heating" the barrels (where 2 trunks and where 6). But the spark MG is probably cheaper, more technologically advanced (as I understand it, the spark is made from standard MG, that is, you can remake the existing ones), there is no dependence on batteries.

And it’s a pleasure to clean and carry it.
The MG 42 machine gun was called "Hitler's saw".
And what is this double-barreled shotgun called? Oblique Frau Merkel?

This is a copy of Steyr GB of very vile quality in relation to the original. A lot of delays, even compared to the Chinese TT.

The difference is only in the details, and specifically in the lever for safe descent of the trigger, the trigger itself and the eject button of the store.
And here is Steyr GB itself:

Back in 1915, the Italian Revelli made the Villars-Perosa double-barreled submachine gun chambered for 9 mm. Rate of fire up to 3000 rounds per minute (1500 per barrel). The heavy, cumbersome structure and two shops adjoining from above, however, did not prevent the Italians from using it quite successfully, especially in mountain rifle units.
Why am I doing this? Everything new is well forgotten old.

It’s easier to combine two ShKAS ... The rate of fire will definitely be unsurpassed.
