PAK FA versus F-22 Raptor
According to Konstantin Makienko, an expert at the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies, the Russian plane will cost less than its American counterpart, which once cost more than $ 10 billion. The cost, of course, will also be influenced by the number of PAK FA produced, because the larger the series, the cheaper the cost of one model. But in any case, it is expected to cost 30-40% less than the American F-22 Raptor.
Designers believe that before the takeoff of the first fighter, the PAK FA should take five to seven years. Many experts in the weapons industry believe that the release of a new fighter of this class will have a positive effect on the future of Russian arms exports.
In addition, this year it is planned to increase funding for the state defense order by 8%, compared with last year, which will be about the order of 1,17 trillion. rubles, which will also give the opportunity to accelerate the pace of construction and translate ideas into reality.
The president of the Sukhoi Company, Mikhail Pogosyan, said that he would continue to work closely with India, with whom he plans to go together with his exact goal. And he believes that joint production will surely give a good result and will allow surpassing Western counterparts at the expense of high-quality machines at moderate prices in comparison with them. And this will allow Russia to occupy an honorable place in the world market.
“The company“ Sukhoi ”is the largest exporter of Russian aircraft and in its account a quarter of all export deliveries. Last year, revenues from all military supplies amounted to 7,4 billion dollars.
The official statement of the Indian government has not yet been received. It is only known that India wants to get into service a double version of the fighter, unlike the Russian single-seat version.
India, in turn, is the largest buyer of military equipment, so their cooperation is justified and mutually beneficial.
In addition to India, China, Iran, Syria, and Venezuela are also among the major importers. But if, nevertheless, Russia decides on the possible export of a fighter to these countries, this may bring a lot of noise in Washington. After all, their offspring F-22 stealth aircraft is strictly prohibited to export, and so far none of the states can compete with the Americans.
According to Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the first batch of the long-awaited PAK FA will go to the troops as early as 2013, but mass production will begin in 2015. However, V.V. Putin did not deny the fact that there was still a lot of work to be done before the release of the fighter: to refine many parts and parts to perfection and only after that to bring the fighter into the series.
Russians react differently to this information. Not everyone looks to the future with enthusiasm. Not everyone shares the opinion that in such the shortest time it is possible to create and establish mass production of a perfect machine. But numerous experts assert that its creation is justified and will have a favorable effect on the entire economy of our country, and also raise Russia in the eyes of many states, as a still powerful and invincible power.
