The military make it clear that they are considering the possibility of building powerful ships of the ocean zone, superior in performance to modern American ships of the Orly Burke class and approaching the newest ships of the Zamvolt class. According to the interlocutor, a promising ship, the project number of which has not yet been assigned, will be multi-purpose, which will determine the choice of its weapons. "The destroyer will receive a missile complex weapons with universal vertical launch launchers for firing high-precision missiles at ground, surface and underwater targets. The ship’s air defenses will be provided by long, medium and short range anti-aircraft missiles, ”he explained.

About the role of modern destroyer class ships in the modern system of naval weapons and the situation with this type of ships in modern fleets, the VZGLYAD newspaper said when the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Vladimir Vysotsky first announced that such a ship would be laid down no later than 2012.
“This ship will be more functional, more“ serious ”than the 956 destroyer on board. The new destroyer will be with significantly expanded capabilities, ”the Vysotsky words of ITAR-TASS reported.

Note that in the 2009 year, many decisions were made and sounded concerning the prospects for the construction of the Russian Navy. Today's message should show that these solutions are being implemented. Last year, we assumed that the destroyer for the Russian Navy would be close in concept to the draft design of the 21956 ship, demonstrated three years ago at the International Navy Salon (MICM-2007). But, as it became known, this project is intended primarily for foreign customers. The ship for the domestic fleet has yet to be developed.
Frankly, 30 months for the design of the project - the task is on the verge of reality, especially in the modern Russian realities, where the situation with shipbuilding is not very good. But not so bad. Over the past 10 years, Russia has sold the most in the world of warships of various classes: four destroyers, eight frigates, diesel-electric submarines, missile and patrol boats, landing craft “Bison”, etc.

However, now we are talking about the problem of increased complexity, akin to the creation of the PAK FA complex, although shipbuilding is a relatively more conservative area of industry than aircraft building, and the generational change here is smoother. Neither the specific performer nor the controlling authority has been named yet. However, apart from the Northern Design Bureau, hardly anyone can claim the role of a contractor.
But something clarified the features of the project. The ship turns out to be more versatile than the “Orly Burke” of the main series, and even more so than the British ships “Type 45” (“Daring”), more focused on solving air defense / missile defense tasks. Thus, the air group of the Russian ship will be two anti-submarine helicopters, and not one, as on classmates. It must be assumed that one of the anti-submarine vehicles may be replaced by an ARLO helicopter and target designation, while the anti-submarine capabilities will not fall so drastically due to the presence of a second machine.
Destroyers like "Orly Burke"
The new ship will be equipped with more than one artillery installation of the main caliber, or, possibly, a paired installation (in this case we can talk about the marine version of the Coalition AU). Such an artillery installation is necessary with the support of naval landings.
And finally, it was said about the ship’s displacement - about 10 thousand tons (in reality it will be more than in the project), that for the destroyer it is a very solid indicator, making it the heaviest in its class: only some of the Orly Burke modernization, approaching the Russian project, and the heaviest (and most expensive in the world) American Zamvalt supersweaver (project DDG-100) has a design displacement of 14 thousand tons.
But the Russian ship, like the DDG-100, will be heavier than the cruisers of the Ticonderoga (USA) and Moscow (Russia) missile defense forces. So already happened in the naval storieswhen the most universal ships became larger and heavier than the ships that were considered the main striking force of the fleet.
It is obvious that in addition to the expanded composition of weapons, a significant part of them will be spent on providing "unlimited navigation range."
