Russian paratroopers will grow wings

Jumping without a parachute, it seems, will be in the near future, paratroopers.

The faculty of aeromechanics and aircraft engineering of the Moscow Physical-Technical Institute began to create an individual aircraft that will allow paratroopers to descend to the ground faster and more inconspicuously for the enemy.

As reported by “MK” one of the developers, a student of the 5 course Roman Anisovich, the know-how is more like a human costume - a bat, with membranes between the arms and the body and equipped with a tail. The project was based on the idea of a western invention - wing-costume (wingsuit). Lightweight, weighing no more than an ordinary jacket, it is used in parachuting for more speedy descent of athletes (but they land, revealing the usual parachute).

In the project, Russian developers will not have a reserve parachute. The “Batman” paratrooper will land on his feet, having previously reduced the speed of his flight. This will be achieved by a special design of the suit. According to the designers, after separation from the aircraft, the parachutist will have to separate his arms and legs to the sides, straighten the webbed, and begin to plan. Firstly, a paratrooper descending without a dome will be very difficult to see from the ground, secondly, if necessary, he can fold his arms and wings and give the body maximum acceleration, literally dropping a stone. However, when approaching the ground, pulling up special lines, a soldier will be able to instantly reduce speed to a minimum and land safely on his feet. It is possible that, unlike soft wingsuit, experts will offer a tough model of flying suit. It will resemble a shell with wings extending in the area of the shoulder blades. Now the developers are calculating the optimal parameters of the costume.

About the idea of scientists already known paratroopers. Innovation, which is still at the stage of computer modeling, is eagerly awaited at the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School.

So like the Germans have already created such a device?
