Russia makes its claims to the Chinese copy of the Su-27?

On December 7, the American newspaper Wall Street Journal published an article that the successes of the Chinese aviation industries are largely associated with the copying of Russian fighters. But such an assessment among many experts reminded the proverb "do not see forests behind trees."

The newspaper writes that after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Kremlin, in the conditions of an acute shortage of currency, began selling a huge amount to China weapons, including the pride of the Russian Air Force fighters Su-27. According to the publication, China imported these weapons for copying, including radar and avionics, the creation of a copy of the engine was the crown. The newspaper reports that the Chinese J-11B has become a “simple imitation” of the Su-27.

But in fact, some Western military media believe that the J-11B was not just an imitation of a Russian fighter. The Australian magazine writes that the Chinese fighter has many original designs, which makes it possible not to view these planes as ordinary clones. Although the airframe and the aircraft engines are similar, the Chinese fighter has a completely different HUD, an infrared station, a completely original “glass cabin” and other components.

But the most interesting is what people think about it in Russia. A few years ago, Russian media reported that according to some data, the head of the Sukhoi holding, Mikhail Pogosyan, stressed that Russia had never raised this issue with China: “We believe that China has the capacity to develop its own components, the American“ experts ”specifically exaggerate this question to sow discord between Russia and China. ” The West is making a big fuss to hit the interests of Russian manufacturers of military equipment.

History aviation cooperation between the two countries has a long history. With the technical assistance of the Soviet Union in China, production of advanced at that time J-6 (MiG-19) fighters was launched. The subsequent generation of MiG-21 (J-7) fighters was produced mainly by the efforts of the Chinese industry, which began the course towards self-sufficiency. The J-8 fighter was already almost entirely Chinese development, then the JF-17 and J-10 fighters were created, which marked the completion of China’s efforts to build its own fighter research and development capabilities. Currently, China is developing a new generation of fighter, which shows the enormous progress of the national aviation industry. People have reason to believe that China will soon reach the world level in this area.
