Lamp with chemicals. New information about Ukrainian chemical weapons

During the Special Operation to protect Donbass, there were numerous reports of the enemy using various chemical agents. weapons – poisonous and irritating substances of various types. In addition, Ukrainian formations, with the help of their Western partners and patrons, are taking measures aimed at ensuring their own safety when using chemicals. Another chemical attack became known the other day.
Homemade ammunition
At the beginning of the week, information appeared in the domestic media and specialized blogs about new attempts by the enemy to use chemical munitions. It is reported that in the area of the settlement. Kleshcheevka in the Artemovsk direction, the enemy is using light UAVs to try to drop homemade weapons filled with chemicals on the positions of our troops.
A video filmed by members of the Baikal detachment was also published. They demonstrate a failed chemical munition and describe how it works and its risks. In addition, they explain precautions - they warn about the danger of the smoke emitted and recommend not to interact with the products and/or shoot them from a safe distance if there is no threat to people.
The chemical munition is made from a high-power electric lamp, which is why it has the corresponding unofficial name. The flask contains a certain solid or thick liquid substance of a dark or black color that performs the functions of combat equipment. When dropped, the glass container reportedly shatters and the chemical reacts, releasing toxic gases. Inhaling such smoke poses a health risk.
It is unknown what substance the enemy uses in the manufacture of their “lamps”. At the same time, different versions are expressed. Yes, RIA News in his message suggests that there is white phosphorus in the flask. The telegram channel “Project RCBZ” shares the opinion about phosphorus, and also indicates the possibility of using an irritant-sternite (a substance that irritates the upper respiratory tract) such as adamsite.

The Obscure and the Obvious
Little is known about the chemical “lamps” of Ukrainian formations, and so far we have to rely on the few available data, estimates and assumptions. In this case, it is already possible to draw some conclusions about the state of the enemy and his activities.
It is obvious that “lamps” with special filling are made in artisanal conditions. Perhaps they are made directly in units that use light attack UAVs. The industrial origin of such products is unlikely. Despite all the damage suffered, Ukrainian enterprises still have the opportunity not to descend to the level of remaking electric lamps.
However, the appearance of such ammunition may indicate the poor condition of Ukrainian units in the Artemovsk direction. They're probably running out of UAV-compatible ammunition, forcing them to get creative. Any available containers of suitable size and substances to fill them are used.
The media and blogs suggest that the Ukrainian “lamp” could be equipped with white phosphorus or adamsite - these versions are based on a description of the effect of the ammunition. However, one can argue with them. The fact is that phosphorus under normal conditions is a white or yellowish waxy substance, and adamsite is a yellow powder. Both substances are not at all similar to what was in the “lamp” from Kleshcheevka.
At the same time, it cannot be ruled out that the flask contained a mixture of a damaging substance with another substance. In particular, phosphorus could be mixed with available petroleum products. In this case, the phosphorus will be separated from the air, which will prevent its premature combustion and also improve the ignition ability of the ammunition.

Moreover, there may be no white phosphorus or adamsite in the flask at all. It may be another toxic/irritating substance with a characteristic appearance. The version about the homemade incendiary ammunition also has a right to life. At the same time, it is unknown what exactly its creators mixed, what combustion products such a fire mixture produces, and how it affects the respiratory system and health in general.
Full conclusions about the new Ukrainian handicraft ammunition can only be drawn after appropriate examination with the necessary chemical and other analyses. Such events will show how and with what use the “lamp” is made, and what threat it poses to personnel, equipment and buildings. While such information is not available, you should listen to the soldiers from the Baikal detachment - take care and not interact with dangerous objects and their combustion products.
Once again, the
The recent situation with the “lamps” from the Artemovsky direction remains unclear. However, even without this episode, it is well known and has been repeatedly confirmed that the armed forces of the Kyiv regime use various types of chemicals. Poisonous and irritating substances are used both as a means of combat at the front and for sabotage and terrorist attacks in the rear.
For the first time, a chemical attack by the Kyiv regime became known back in August 2022. Then the enemy used a chemical analogue of the BZ combat chemical against our fighters. Bi-Zet is on Schedule 2 of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and is not permitted for use in combat.
Since the beginning of last year, chemical attacks have been carried out using UAVs. Thus, in February 2023, two cases of dropping containers with hydrocyanic acid were noted, and in April, the irritant "Teren-6" was used twice. In June and August, an attack was carried out three times using a mixture of chloroacetophenone with chloropicrin. In December, another UAV dropped a grenade containing CS on Russian positions. All such attacks in one form or another are violations of the Chemical Weapons Convention.

In 2022 and 2023 the enemy has repeatedly made attempts on officials from new regions using various substances. Two such incidents are known for certain; they involved the use of ricin and phenol compounds. In several other incidents, the Ministry of Defense and investigative authorities carried out the necessary checks, but the results of the investigation have not yet been disclosed.
The Russian Ministry of Defense, represented by the radiation, chemical and biological protection troops, carefully documents such incidents and regularly publishes reports. At the same time, the international Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons actually ignores messages from our military and is in no hurry to pay attention to violations on the Ukrainian side. Impunity becomes an incentive for the Kyiv regime, and it continues to use substances and ammunition prohibited by international treaties.
Moreover, it has long been known that the Chemical Weapons Convention is violated not only by Kyiv weapons, but also by its allies. Thus, the mentioned substance BZ is produced only in the USA, and other options for its appearance in Ukraine are virtually excluded. Various gas grenades, etc. the products were supplied from abroad, which is also a violation.
At the same time, it cannot be ruled out that some of the substances are synthesized directly in Ukraine using surviving chemical production facilities. In addition, if assumptions about the poisonous nature of the “lamp” from Kleshcheevka are confirmed, it will be possible to talk about self-assembly of chemical munitions - even homemade ones.
Predictable future
The position of the Kyiv regime is constantly deteriorating, and its prospects are already obvious. However, its leadership, armed groups and foreign patrons are so far in no hurry to admit the obvious and are trying to resist. To counter the Russian army in such a difficult situation, they are trying to use all available means.
Various handicrafts of dubious appearance and the same effectiveness are used. In addition, ammunition and substances restricted or prohibited by international agreements are used. However, all these measures do not help, and Russian measures to demilitarize Ukraine are successfully moving forward. And it is already clear that the Kiev regime will be defeated, and it will have to answer for all violations and crimes, incl. in the field of chemical weapons.
