By 2015, Russia will overtake the leading armies of the world

According to Vadim Potapov, General Designer of the ESU TZ, his brainchild is in a high degree of readiness. Positive assessments were made to the system at the exercises by Colonel-General Valery Gerasimov, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, and Colonel-General Alexander Postnikov, Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces. So, demonstrating the system to the president, Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov seems to be able to report that the instructions of the head of state to complete the development of the ESU TK before 2010 have been completed, the newspaper notes.
According to the same Vadim Potapov, in terms of automation of combat control, “by the year 2015 we will not only catch up, but overtake, without catching up, the leading armies of the world”. The general designer states that in the domestic tactical-level control systems, the developers are already putting the picture of the battle in the 3D mode on the monitor, pointing out that "there is no such technology in the leading armies of the world yet."

Anatoly Serdyukov himself recently stated that his department would purchase domestic Drones (which are elements of a tactical control system) only on the condition that the defense industry will be able to manufacture devices that meet the requirements of modern combat. According to the military themselves, no decision has yet been made on which unmanned aerial vehicles will be put into service. And the domestic defense industry plans to massively introduce ESU TZ only by 2015.
