Unmanned aerial vehicles of various classes have long become a threat that requires attention and an appropriate response. Of great importance are the means of counteracting and combating this technique, and various models of this kind are being developed in our country. The other day, the Ruselectronics holding spoke about the creation of another countermeasure complex.

Latest news

RIA reported on the next domestic development in the field of countering UAVs on July 26 News with reference to its creators. The project, whose name has not yet been disclosed, is being created at Rybinsk Instrument-Making Plant JSC (RZP) from the Ruselectronics holding (part of Rostec). The main information about this project was disclosed by the general director of the development plant Andrey Komogortsev.

RIA Novosti recalls that RZP had previously developed a portable multifunctional radar station of small dimensions and a mass of approx. 25 kg. This radar is designed to search for small air targets, as well as ground and surface objects. As it turns out now, this project was continued.

According to A. Komogortsev, when the first prototype of the new radar was ready, the company began to develop an electronic warfare module to suppress UAVs. To date, the development of the locator has reached its final stage. By the end of the third quarter of this year, it is planned to complete the ongoing work and present a single complex in the form of a means of detection and means of suppression.

Unfortunately, the appearance of the new complex has not yet been disclosed. Finished products and components are also not shown. Nevertheless, the main technical characteristics and capabilities are named.

It is reported that a characteristic feature of the new countermeasures complex is the ability to work on the most complex targets, such as small-sized Drones commercial sector. During the tests, the new radar successfully spotted objects ranging in size from 16x20 cm. An UAV of such dimensions in hovering mode was confidently followed at ranges up to 250 m. In motion, the range doubles. The station solves problems both in open areas and in urban areas.

The technical features of the vast majority of the complex have not yet been given. We are talking about a portable jamming station adapted to counteract commercial UAVs, however, the design features, characteristics, etc. while remain unknown.

As reported, the development of a new project continues successfully, and in a few months the RZP will form a full-fledged anti-UAV complex. Perhaps the resulting system will be presented to the public at one of the next open events.

Priority

It should be noted that a number of different organizations deal with the topic of countering UAVs, incl. from Roselectronics. They develop, produce and deliver to customers a variety of complexes of this kind with certain features. Thus, stationary systems are proposed for the permanent protection of important areas and objects, including radar equipment and electronic warfare stations. In addition, hand-held "anti-drone guns" are very popular among developers and operators.

The main part of domestic countermeasures complexes still remains in the country. They are acquired by the army and law enforcement agencies, commercial organizations, etc. At the same time, Ruselectronics and Rostec are trying to enter the international market and look for foreign customers. Right now they are demonstrating their products to potential buyers.

On July 27 and 28, the Russia-Africa summit is being held in St. Petersburg. As part of this event, an exhibition is held at which our enterprises present their products and look for foreign customers and partners. A large exposition is once again presented by the Rostec State Corporation and organizations from its composition, incl. Roselectronics.

Thus, the Avtomatika concern shows two of its developments to African guests at once - the Pishchal-Pro portable suppression system and the stationary Dome. The product "Pishchal-Pro" is an electronic warfare complex in the form factor of a rifle and is intended for directed impact on UAVs of popular models. Provides suppression of communication and control channels at a distance of up to 2 km. The product "Dome" is made stationary, has a more developed set of antennas, and also operates in 10 frequency bands. Provides suppression of targets in the upper hemisphere with a radius of 2 km.

A similar complex "Serp-VS5" is demonstrated by the Research Institute "Vector" from the structure of "Ruselectronics". This is also a stationary system capable of suppressing navigation and communication radio channels. A feature of this station is the use of four emitters, each of which works independently and covers its own sector of space. This scheme allows you to suppress air targets in different directions in different ways. In addition, it becomes possible to disable one of the sectors for the operation of their UAVs.

Stationary facilities

Among all the available and developed means of protection against UAVs, for a number of reasons, portable "guns" are the most famous. At the same time, stationary systems, such as the Dome from Avtomatika or the new development of the Rybinsk Instrument Engineering Plant, are also of great interest to customers. Rostec and related structures are well aware of this, as a result of which new projects and samples appear and develop.

Recent experience clearly shows how light and small UAVs can be used, as well as what danger they pose. With their help, the enemy can conduct reconnaissance, as well as attack personnel and equipment on the battlefield or carry out sabotage against infrastructure facilities. In this regard, specialized means of protection are required, designed for a specific threat in the form of drones.

In the context of the defense of various facilities and areas, stationary countermeasure systems are of the greatest interest. This design allows you to get high performance, the presence of several modes, etc. It also ensures long-term continuous operation with the realization of all technical potential.

The new project of the RZP countermeasures complex, announced the other day, belongs to this class. It was based on the simplest concept of such a system, which involves combining a locator and a jamming station. At the same time, the development of such tools, corresponding to the tasks set, is not simple.

The main difficulty in the new project was the creation of a radar capable of detecting and tracking the entire range of expected targets. UAVs of popular models are made mainly of plastic and have small dimensions, which negatively affects their visibility. Nevertheless, Ruselectronics was able to ensure the detection and tracking of small objects. Even with dimensions of 16x20 cm, the drone is detected from 500 m. In general, this should provide reliable protection against typical modern threats.

The development of the jamming station was somewhat simpler. Our industry has extensive experience in this area, and the basic principles of counteracting widespread UAVs are well known and worked out. At the same time, it is required to ensure the full interaction of the jamming station with the detection radar and other means. Judging by the stated terms of readiness of the complex, these tasks are being successfully solved.

Projects and progress

Thus, the Russian industry is actively developing the direction of specialized systems for countering and suppressing UAVs. The main role in these processes is played by various organizations from the Roselectronics holding and the Rostec corporation as a whole. The development of new projects of this kind and the completion of work on already known ones are regularly reported.

As it became known the other day, in the coming months, another countermeasure complex will be ready, this time from the Rybinsk Instrument Making Plant. This project is based on well-known and proven concepts and solutions, due to which the finished sample should show high performance. What will be the commercial success of this sample, it is too early to say, but there is every reason for optimism.

Moving forward is life. It is very useful to develop the domestic radio-electronic industry so as not to find yourself in a hopeless situation when things come up against sanctions and confrontation with "partners".
Not gods burn pots. A rolling stone gathers no moss. Patience and hard work will grind everything.
    Good Luck!

During the tests, the new radar successfully detected objects ranging in size from 16x20 cm. An UAV of such dimensions in hover mode was confidently followed at ranges up to 250 m.

And with such amazing characteristics they are going to produce it? And if the UAV is smaller than 16x20 cm, and there are such, then what? Artillery attack on reconnoitered positions?

Companies developing complexes for combating UAVs should be led by those who are already producing such complexes in a garage from Chinese consumer goods for a penny and not by Chemezov’s organized crime group, which captured Rostec and arranges to cut the dough out of everything. Where Chemezov and his gang appear, all activity turns into embezzlement.
And the anti-UAV complexes should be accepted by a commission consisting ONLY of those who organized and SUCCESSFULLY led such units in combat operations and not generals from the Moscow Region.

At least one piece of news from a series of similar ones sounded like this: "It was created and entered or is entering the troops in the required quantities." And so "breakfast" is fed.

Why not develop a series of UAVs with reb against UAVs. At least at the first stage with detection systems? A very interesting topic.

All EW capabilities against UAVs are neutralized easily and quickly. It's just that no one has taken it seriously yet.
What is needed in reality? Detection of UAVs by optical and radar methods.
Direction finding of UAV control points with instant artillery strikes there.
UAV fighters: cheap and 10 units per km of front.
Guidance systems for conventional machine guns, so that they can also bring down the UAV at least at a hundred or two hundred meters.
    .
Electronic warfare against UAVs still needs to be developed, but one must be prepared that the delivered systems will work for a month, and then new developments will be needed. Has such a conveyor been launched in the concern?

Everything in the article is beautifully described, who created it, where it created it, what they can do. It is not written, more precisely, the question is skillfully circumvented - whose elemental base?

Why not make it based on a UAV? Three drones, one launched into the work area, the second is on recharging, the third is a spare just in case. Let the radius be small, but no one with grenades flies over the right place.
