Belarusian Tactical UAV Griff-1
Belarus successfully joined the countries developing unmanned aviation and weapons, a vivid example of this is the Grif-1 tactical drone. Development drone the Belarusian Aircraft Repair Plant 558 is in charge. The plant has long been engaged in the development of new types of both weapons and aircraft with the introduction of the latest technologies into production. At the moment, the plant is a fairly large enterprise for the repair and maintenance of aircraft. It repairs military and civil aircraft and helicopters of various modifications, and modernizes the entire Belarusian air fleet.
The experience gained in the performance of basic works allowed the designers and engineers to start developing their own projects. Today, the development of UAV Griff-1 is under the order of the military-industrial complex of Belarus.
On February 21.02.2012, 1, the first test tests of the Grif-100 tactical drone with a range of 35 kilometers took place. The payload of the Belarusian UAV is up to 1 kilograms. He is able to perform the tactical and operational tasks assigned to him. Tests of the prototype called "150LA-XNUMX" (flying laboratory) were carried out to test the takeoff and landing capabilities, stability and controllability of the device in the air. They successfully confirmed the claimed aerodynamic characteristics of the drone airframe. The payload includes various types of equipment that provide photo and video shooting, RTS and reconnaissance radar. The information received by the drone can be used by a wide range of users in both the civil and military sectors.
The tactical UAV Griff-1 is standardly equipped with an optical-electronic surveillance system with TV and IR channels. The designers of the 558 ARZ factory provided the unmanned vehicle with the ability to quickly change equipment as a payload, for example, a laser range finder, target designator, repeater, etc. can be installed on demand.
The drone was created by the aerodynamic design of a two-beam airframe with an internal combustion engine. The design of the drone used modern composite materials. The take-off of the Griff-1 UAV is possible from a catapult or on an aircraft basis, the landing is normal, and the emergency landing is possible with a parachute. Control - ground remote or according to previously stored data in the onboard equipment. The drone can fly at night and daytime in any climatic conditions.
Today we are aware of the development of the drone, which will carry a more powerful engine. It will provide the UAV with a range of 300 kilometers, with more payload on board.
The Defense Ministry of Belarus confirmed the intention to acquire a small series of UAVs “Grif-1” of the aircraft repair plant in Baranovichi. It is known about the preliminary order by the military for several dozen Belarusian-made UAVs.
The main characteristics of the Vulture-1:
- wing -4.8 meter;
- Length - 3.5 meters;
- weight - 120 kilogram;
- payload up to 35 kilogram;
- speed up to 170 km / h;
- The maximum flight time is about 8 hours;
- range about 100 kilometers.
