Combat tuning in the NWO zone

Combat tuning in the NWO zone
A typical picture in a Ukrainian workshop - T-55 is preparing to receive the BMP-2 turret

We solve the needs of the armies with our own hands

The need to modernize and improve ready-made military equipment is due to two fundamental reasons - a chronic shortage, or even a complete absence of some models as a class in the army. The first signs of combat tuning of the special operation appeared at the very beginning - everyone remembers the blinding of trucks defenseless against shrapnel with sheet iron, and sometimes with logs.

Since then, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge, and the emphasis has shifted to other needs of the armies. First of all, to supply units with reconnaissance and strike FPV-drones. They forgot a little about the fact that the Russian army and the Armed Forces of Ukraine chronically lack military equipment for one and a half thousand kilometers. The special operation set its priorities in the requirements for military equipment.

Frankly speaking, they do not fundamentally differ from the views of theorists 20-30 years ago. In the fight against terrorists, which have been engaged in all recent years, the booking of everything and everything was also held in high esteem. Only if in the Chechen campaigns they defended themselves mainly from bullets, now resistance to shrapnel has come to the fore. This is especially acute on the opposite side.

The artillery of the Russian army is traditionally able to cause trouble to the enemy - you can read about this from the enemies in a recent report british think tank. Therefore, the nationalists are especially attentive to booking, albeit completely symbolic. Based on the available options, of course.

Often, the equipment supplied by the West to the Ukrainian regime is only suitable for smooth roads. In the photo, the trophy International M1224 MaxxPro with double rear tires is moving deep into Russia. Obviously will take place in the park "Patriot"

The second most important requirement for equipment in the NWO zone was cross-country ability. As the vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were gradually knocked out, the West tried to replace them with their own counterparts. Americans with satellites from a broad shoulder presented various MRAPs, purely anti-terrorist equipment. Hence the difficulty in overcoming the simplest obstacles and the consequences of the spring thaw. A characteristic example is the recently trophied MaxxPro in the Belogorod region, which has dual tires on the rear axle - a phenomenon completely unthinkable on any Soviet and Russian-style armored vehicles.

The third requirement for military equipment and arms in the NWO zone, there was a high mobility of firing points and an increase in the power of action on the target. Everything that shoots from stationary points is sooner or later detected and suppressed. Therefore, the mobility of the shooter is equal to his survival. Hence the desire to mount the gun on any suitable cart, and the larger the caliber, the better. Not bad, such mobile vehicles play the role of fire brigades, quickly plugging holes in the defense in the event of an enemy breakthrough.

All of the above determines the vectors for the development of combat tuning in the NVO zone - a completely forced phenomenon, which became the result of the unpreparedness of the parties for the conflict.

The images above do not show if this UAZ pickup is armored, which a farmer from the Samara region bought and retrofitted with his own funds. Corner reflectors, which have become widespread in Syria, cover the vital areas of the car. Interestingly, UAZ is far from just off the assembly line - the last cars of this modification left the gates of the plant in 2014. So much the better, fewer imported components will be needed for repairs in the field.

The rules of the game with the blinding of military equipment seem to be adopted by the Republic of Belarus. The quality and style of execution is very reminiscent of the creations seen in the assortment in the Middle East. A powerful industrial base in Belarus allows the manufacture of much more suitable machines.

Reliable and well-deserved MTLB is already becoming a symbol of combat tuning in a special operation. First of all, on the Russian side. There are at least 7 lightly armored artillery tractors in storage and in the active army. The photo above is an example of protecting the conveyor with caterpillar tracks from the T-72. It is impossible to say for sure, but the additional armor can increase the final mass of the MTLB decently - by 3-4 tons. The apparatus obviously forgot how to swim.

In one of the photos, the authors of the telegram channel "Panzerwaffle / Panzerwaffle" identified, obviously, the remote control elements of the twin DShK on the roof. Pay attention to how carefully the sight glass covers are covered with tracks. As you know, MTLB has long and irrevocably lost its main function of transporting howitzers and crews to the front line. Now this is a blank for a completely formidable assault weapon, like the one presented above.

A selection of traditional already fragmentary blending of Russian technology in the NWO.

Unfortunately, so far the problem of the lack of even symbolic protection on most of the equipment has not been solved. The increase in the production of trucks in Miass and Naberezhnye Chelny is felt, but the share of armored cabs and bodies is not increasing. You can not stutter at all about the protection of "tadpoles" and "loaves", which are more and more at the front. Although since the days of the Soviet Union they have been able to protect Ulyanovsk minibuses in the collection version.

Source: YouTube "Tyumen Time"

Refinement of standard army equipment is carried out on the ground. The photo shows the first experience of booking a cabin in Tyumen on the basis of the West Siberian Machine-Building Plant. The armor plates were bought with the funds raised as part of the "One Hundred Million for Victory" campaign.

The ubiquitous drones have turned out to be a relatively new threat to technology. The ideal means of combating them is the total destruction of operators and all related infrastructure, but for now we have to be content with lattice screens. Carriers of ammunition and guns are especially vulnerable to such a threat from the sky.

In one of the pictures, the 9K51M Tornado-G MLRS, most likely covered with factory grilles from all angles of the upper hemisphere. Screens will help repel free-falling ammunition, or significantly reduce damage.

But protection from kamikaze with anti-tank grenades is doubtful. The widespread use of FPV drones on both sides of the front seems to bring back the long-forgotten tradition of transporting infantry inside the troop compartment of vehicles, and not on top of the armor. Often, kamikazes are not capable of inflicting critical damage to armored vehicles, which cannot be said about the personnel stationed outside.

The rich Syrian experience in protecting armored vehicles is gradually being applied in the NVO zone. Improvised anti-cumulative screens from the corner profile are now closed Tanks with all projections.

In the upper photo, to protect the crew, the armored personnel carrier was equipped with sections of an I-beam. Estimate separately the amount of belongings located on the BTR-82A.

A two-layer cake on the cheekbones of the Russian T-62 turret, made of the famous “Ilyich’s eyebrows” and the ancient “Contact-1” dynamic protection, looks much more logical and reliable. It is customary in the Ukrainian segment to scoff at such decisions, but from what they can offer their warriors, a good anecdote is formed.

Protection and firepower

Like the fighters of the LDNR, Ukrainian nationalists understand a lot about turning civilian equipment into real “shushpanzers”, armored according to completely wild schemes. Below are the modern representatives of the family.

On the one hand, the elaboration of booking schemes is surprising, on the other hand, the ways to achieve such protection. The Mercedes ML-class in the first photo obviously did not expect to meet its old age in this form, and the HMMWV hardly deserved such a hump.

You can also defend yourself with disc harrows - it turned out quite conceptually.

In the Ukrainian segment, a photograph of the T-64BV, protected all around by dynamic protection units and anti-cumulative screens, was circulated. This is the most aesthetic example of the entire line of nationalist crafts. The vehicle revealed a new trend - a "locator" behind the turret, shielding the commander and gunner from killer FPV drones and Lancets. A similar unnamed private enterprise is making.

Machine-gun carts, additionally reinforced with anti-tank systems, are good for the nationalists. Anti-aircraft installations do not need reservations - Gerani should act as targets. What can not be said about the paradoxical craft with the American M60 in a rotating turret. A UAZ that can be shot from all sides and an impromptu shield for the shooter, which provides more psychological protection.

A sign of the times was the use of so-called remilitarized armored vehicles. First, near Kiev, the terodefense frolicked in exercises with the former civilian BTR-60, and now the airmobile brigade is ready to go into battle on the BRDM for hunting and fishing. Panoramic windows had to be closed with indistinct protection, but the armament is quite consistent - a 23-mm cannon from the AZP-23 "Amur" installation.

An automatic grenade launcher on a self-made pedestal, coupled with a high-speed and passable GAZ-66 chassis, is a good recipe from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The absence of inexpensive factory-made mobile mortars on the fronts has become a commonplace on both sides of the special operation front.

The "Rapier" on the MTLB platform can also be classified as a deadly craft, largely due to the high accuracy of the anti-tank gun. The captured "Tiger" with a turret from the BTR-80 completes the series of Ukrainian mutants - cheap, effective and cheerful.

The success of the 57-mm S-60 anti-aircraft gun, whose roots go back to the 50s of the last century, makes us think about the demand for such guns and calibers. The troops now have either a 30-mm or 100-mm BMP-3 at their disposal - we do not take into account the ineffective 73-mm Thunder gun from the first BMP. The photographs show Russian hybrids MTLBU and S-60.

And again the S-60. This time on the site of the T-54 tower. The domestic version with a dubious idea is an open cabin on a heavily armored chassis. The main charm of the T-54 tanks is the ability to use them as self-propelled guns, which is not easy to hit with return fire. Anti-projectile armor reliably keeps close explosions of mines and shells.

Another Russian extreme is the installation of a twin 25-mm 2M-3 in the back of an almost civilian ATS tractor. Unlike the 57-mm S-60 cannon, capable of operating at a range of up to six kilometers, the aiming range of machine guns is about three thousand meters, and the APU will not be difficult to suppress an unarmored installation with return fire. For this, a couple of mines that fell nearby are enough.

Obviously, all homemade products are born on both sides of the front for a reason, and the task of designers in the rear design bureaus is to find a middle ground that combines sometimes paradoxical ideas with the requirements of common sense and mass production.

Cornflower in the body in the Donbass was put back in 2014, ours. And there you simply don’t need to bother with any pedestal - Cornflower has two legs and a base plate, in the back it’s all attached simply elementarily, and if anything the cornflower is removed in minutes.

"Carnations" and "Acacias" - have only ANTI-BULLET armor, and on direct fire - they are very vulnerable, plus - loading on the go is impossible. Basically, they work from the ground, from positions. And these are howitzers! T-62 - can fly out from behind cover, shoot, hide, and reload - right on the go. As an assault weapon to support infantry - this is it!

And what is the way out, if normal equipment is in short supply, and the "wunderwaffe" is so far only for parades and all sorts of factory / state and other tests that last not even for years, but for decades ...

Is it really impossible to increase the production of collection vehicles with some adaptation for the troops?! For rocades, transportation and other things out of direct line of sight of the enemy. Let not MRAP, but not mutants either, but from fragments, then protection will be any more reliable ...

This requires the MoD to place their order, but I have strong suspicions. that the armor of these cars, if it holds, then only bullets from the PM.

Different booking classes, Niva is one thing, Kamaz is completely different - well, the 90s weaned relying only on PM in criminal hands.

    Blinding, Eugene, blinding.
So you and the dugout - you will call the blendage ...
    What is blending?
    That is:
This process is somewhat reminiscent of wine blending - a blend is created from ready-made samples. This is necessary in order for the coffee to be endowed with the same taste to which the consumer is already accustomed. If you need roasted coffee beans, it is packaged and then ground on home coffee grinders. Ground coffee is much more often offered, since according to statistics, most people now do not have coffee grinders. It is possible that the situation will change because the grains ground right before cooking have a richer taste.
Be careful with the Russian language, Eugene.
Even if it sometimes consists of borrowings.
And the article is great! I read and looked at the photos with pleasure!

It’s high time to give up buoyancy, because of this no one rides in these cardboard tarantasses, and the use of these marvelous paddles in battle suggests that our military-industrial complex is still sadder than I thought, and the new equipment is clear that for parades, As for armored trucks, then there were problems in Afghanistan and Chechnya, the USSR worked on solving the problem, but fell apart and, alas, did not have time, but the current rulers do not care, their kids will not ride them, and even more so they will not fight, but they are up to one place for ordinary people , if the authorities were preoccupied with this issue, then at least they would start producing armored shields at some specialized enterprise, and so they have only excuses that everything is wonderful and there are drones, and communications, and our equipment has no analogues, and in general, how much we destroyed them, only they did not take into account that the people are informed about everything and know how everything really is.

This is all from the lack of equipment and the presence of scrap metal underfoot. Almost all of these crafts will remain in single copies due to their failure, additional weight reduces mobility, maneuverability and resource.
It sucks that the APU is now being transported by Abrams and Leo, and our T-55.

Once again we see an author who does not understand what he writes about.
which has dual tires on the rear axle

On such a machine, the difference in busbars is hardly noticeable, but in general, on most photos and videos, incl. from Ukraine, the wheels on the rear axle are still 2.

Interestingly, UAZ is far from just off the assembly line - the last cars of this modification left the gates of the plant in 2014. So much the better, fewer imported components will be needed for repairs in the field.

And what, the patriot of 2020 has much more imported components?

Not bad, such mobile vehicles play the role of fire brigades, quickly plugging holes in the defense in the event of an enemy breakthrough.

And how will an UAZ with a machine gun plug a hole in the event of an enemy breakthrough on a tank?

Why is the C60 a success, and the thunder is suddenly called ineffective? According to the tank, something that is not very different. For infantry, 73mm is more effective.

In general, I remember, back in the 90s, some people said that a modern tank should be primarily an assault gun - with a 152mm howitzer, a la Sheridan but with normal armor.
