The head prototype of a shock UAV nEUROn first rose to the sky

December 1.12.2012, XNUMX Prototype European percussion drone nEUROn took to the skies for the first time during flight testing. Tests are being carried out on aviation base "Istres" in France. The prototype is the leading demonstrator of the impact UAV nEUROn. The flight itself lasted about 25 minutes, the control of the drone was carried out by 2 operators from ground equipment. The tests are led by the main developer, Dassault Aviation and the defense procurement agency of France. At present, the Thales group, Alenia Aermacchi (Italy), EADS CASA (Spain), Saab (Switzerland), HAI Greece are participating in the development of the UAV. By this time, 406 million euros have been spent on the development of nEUROn, French companies account for the main expense.

The shock European drone nEUROn is being developed as a demonstrator of controlled unmanned stealth technology. History The creation of a UAV as an invisible aircraft begins in 1999 with the beginning of the development of the LOGIDUC program by Dassault Aviation. UAV nEUROn created by the scheme of a triangular flying wing. It is the next element of the LOGIDUC program.

Initially, until the middle of the 2005 of the year, the shock drone was a continuation of the development of the AVE-C Moyen Duc drone, provided by two engines, and the company-developer changes the name to nEUROn. Changes began after the demonstrated layout at the last air show in Paris that year. It was a full-size model of a more modest UAV, made with a single engine. This project aroused the interest of other European countries, and they joined the development of stealth drone drone technology. For European countries, this meant reducing the cost of developing their own UAV projects. According to the program, by the 2015 year, the technology of the shock stealth-UAV will be fully developed and by the 2020-25 years the production of the latest stealth drone will begin. In addition, the development can be used to start the creation of UAVs by European project participants.

As planned, at the start of serial production, the installed engine will be replaced with a reinforced TRND "SNECMA M88". The flight test complex will be held not only in France, but also in Italy and Sweden test sites. In Sweden, operational tests will be conducted, and in Italy, weapons tests will be conducted (ammunition applications). This should help the rest of the project participants to develop, research and develop skills and technologies at the start of the creation of the impact-pilot-UAV program from 2015.

The flight test program will take place over the next 2 years, with at least 100 departures taking place. During the tests will also be tested weapons with the development of the use of ammunition.

Key Features:
- wing - 12.5 meter;
- Length - 9.5 meters;
- empty / take-off weight - 4.5 / 6 tons;
- engine - turbofan Mk 951 Turbomeca / Rolls-Royce;
- speed not less than 850 km / h.

    Oh, I read about him just yesterday - the Europeans are clearly trying not to lag far behind the Americans in this regard.

        Greetings, Sergey!
        The video, specifically, was made in order to cause anger, but it is impossible to argue either. We lag behind and lag behind for a decade, if not more.

        and what kind of model that crashed? who knows? Is the video provided by a circle of young modelers or is it an Israeli drone for the needs of the Russian Defense Ministry? or that prodigy for which 5 lards were allocated?
        Lagging is a fact. But P 700 is our topic (((

      all stealth UAVs made according to the flying wing scheme are similar:

      Boeing Phantom Ray

      Centinel

      X-47b (there is an article about him here)

      Tell me, please, is the project of Zhukovsky’s plane preceded by this drone? By the way, Zhukovsky’s plane never flew, since it wasn’t built — it was just a sketch.

    The level of development of electronics in developed countries allows you to make high-tech weapons. We ride on the t-90, if there were Serdyukov, he would at least buy something like that, and now Tula or Chelyabinsk lefthanders will make a scarecrow and will call it a drone

      I will tell you a secret - NO ONE WILL SELL US TO US! And there is still a question - a data transmission system ... Amers have it via satellite (I do not take small UAVs, and the UAVs are really of a plane type - RQ-4, for example). Do we have a satellite constellation for this business? In my opinion, no.

    The whole west ran, pulling up his pants, in the development of a UAV! Somehow there was a report on bbc.tv, there were pilots of 5th generation aircraft - the last in their profession! Already now you can create unmanned ..................... passenger planes!

    If at least some control channel is saved, there is the possibility of intercepting or simply jamming this channel. After that, the UAV will either operate according to a pre-introduced program (when meeting with a manned fighter, he has no chance, MANPADS - the same thing), or automatically drape to the base (also not the fact that it will fly). Artificial intelligence has not yet been created, and what is standing there differs little from the autopilots of passenger airlines. I would not bow to UAVs so blindly and say that this is the future of aviation.

      This is probably only for "small" is true, such as Bird Eye 400

      The drone can work only if there are no obstacles between the antenna and the device, otherwise interference or a complete loss of communication is possible. In this case, a program is installed in the UAV, which returns it to the starting point from which the launch was made.

      X-47B remote control unit CDU (control display unit) for rolling out the UAV and moving from the landing zone, take-off.
      The flight is carried out according to a pre-programmed
      route.

      Probably DASSAULT AVIATION will do something similar, or control via the AWACS / Satellite via a narrow beam. The probability of interception or jamming is very low

        If there is a big war, all satellites will be destroyed in the early days. So in vain the amers are betting on the control and guidance of UAVs, as well as missiles from the satellite.

          So far, only Americans are capable of destroying satellites (SM-3)
          the IS-MU complex (with a fighter satellite 14F10) in 1991 we did not accept

          MiG-31D # 071 and # 072 are located in Kazakhstan, possibly at the "A" range.

      That's why there’s a hitch ... On MiG, this project was funded on a residual basis. Now he was handed over to Sukhoi. As far as I know, they passed the layout and not all the documentation that they managed to do. Who wants to transfer their know-how to competitors like this? So I understand them perfectly.

        Well, just like frostbitten football fans, the team representing your country and not a foreign country loses and these gloat, because it is their opponent who is losing in the domestic championship. Yes, of course it's hard to give back to others, but by the way, here is a lot of negative about "Sukhoi", and how many of them were cut, eh? and not only they are the same Mikoyan and Tupolev, and so until the realization of the common goal comes. but there will be only a showdown, as if the remnants are not lost together with the country!
