In service with the Russian army and other domestic law enforcement agencies is the so-called. anti-sabotage grenade launcher DP-64 "Nepryadva". This weapon designed to protect water areas and water areas from a possible attack. With it, a grenade launcher can hit enemy combat swimmers or neutralize another underwater threat. Recently it became known that "Nepryadva" is used in the current Special Operation.
Special tool
According to known data, DP-64 grenade launchers are produced in small batches and are not widely used in the troops and law enforcement agencies. They enter the detachments of anti-sabotage forces and means (PDSS) of the naval fleet and in the marines. Also, grenade launchers were ordered by the border service of the FSB. There is information about the presence of grenade launchers in some units of the National Guard, and recently it became known about their use by airborne troops.
Currently, detachments of the PDSS, border services and the Russian Guard are busy guarding the bases of the Black Sea Fleet and other strategically important facilities in the region. When performing such tasks, all available weapons and means are used. Apparently, during the course of duty and patrolling, the fighters carry and use DP-64 grenade launchers. However, exact information on this subject is not yet available due to the specifics of the work of security units.
At the same time, the Nepryadva grenade launchers are also available from other branches of the military in other areas. Recently it became known about the use of such weapons directly in the zone of the Special Operation. It was used for its intended purpose - to prevent the activities of enemy saboteurs.
20 March RIA News reported on an attempt by Ukrainian combat swimmers to cross the Kakhovka reservoir under water to carry out sabotage on Russian territory. The area was guarded by a division of the Airborne Forces. His fighters timely discovered the enemy and attacked him. With the help of Nepryadva grenades, the enemy was destroyed, and sabotage was prevented.

It cannot be ruled out that this was far from the only episode of the combat use of the DP-64 grenade launcher in the current Special Operation. Our troops and special services now have to protect large water areas and areas, and the enemy regularly tries to use combat swimmers or unmanned vehicles. Therefore, anti-sabotage units have to continue their work and regularly use their weapons, incl. products "Nepryadva".
Small batches
In 1981, the Tula TsKIB SOO received an order to develop a new anti-sabotage grenade launcher for the Navy. It was intended to replace the existing product DP-61 "Duel" and was supposed to have advantages over it. By this time, the design bureau had some developments on such weapons, and soon they were implemented in the new project DP-64 "Nepryadva".
By the spring of 1983, two variants of such a grenade launcher were developed in 45 and 50 mm calibers with different design features. In the summer of the same year, comparative tests of two products took place in Sevastopol, as a result of which the 50-mm system with an active-rocket grenade was abandoned. The 45-mm grenade launcher was developed. At this stage, the Moscow NPO Bazalt was involved in the project, which was to develop two types of ammunition.
State tests of the finished DP-64 grenade launcher took place in 1988 and ended successfully. According to their results, in 1990 the product was adopted by the Navy. At the plant. Degtyarev (Kovrov), a production line was prepared for the production of grenade launchers, and NPO Bazalt mastered the manufacture of ammunition.
According to known data, for a long time, Nepryadva grenade launchers were produced only in small batches - the limited capabilities of customers affected. Nevertheless, the products entered service with various units and were used on combat duty.

In the future, the situation began to change, and the rate of output increased. Thanks to this, it was possible to complete the rearmament of all the units in need. Moreover, as is now known, the circle of DP-64 operators has expanded. Now this weapon is used even by the Airborne Forces, which are not directly related to the protection of water areas.
Since the beginning of the nineties, Nepryadva has been regularly shown at domestic and foreign exhibitions. The grenade launcher attracted the attention of visitors, but not a single foreign army was willing to purchase it.
According to the dual scheme
DP-64 "Nepryadva" is a hand grenade launcher with two barrels of 45 mm caliber. The total length of the product is 820 mm with a height of 275 mm, weight - 10 kg. The product uses specially designed grenades, with the help of which it ensures the defeat of manpower under water and on water at any time of the day.
To optimize the firing process and increase the practical rate of fire, the DP-64 received two vertical barrels. Each barrel has thin walls and a smooth bore with a caliber of 45 mm. Barrel length - 600 mm. The barrels are connected to each other by vertical couplings and a breech. There are two handles under the barrels, incl. for fire control. The front grip sleeve also serves as the base of the scope.
Both barrels have a common shutter. It is made in the form of a large block containing the trigger mechanism and equipped with a recoil pad. To reload the shutter is unlocked, retracted and rotated to the side. All processes of preparation for the shot are carried out manually. A trigger mechanism is placed inside the shutter. Cocking for both barrels is carried out by a common lever. Uses a single trigger and fuse.
Aiming is carried out using a sectional sight with a range adjustment step of 50 m. The maximum firing range is 400 m. Shooting is provided both direct fire and from a closed position.

Two main munitions were developed for the DP-64: the SG-45 flash grenade and the high-explosive FG-45. Both products have a cylindrical body with a hemispherical head and tail stabilizer. A sleeve with a propellant charge is attached to the shank. Fuse - deep with the ability to install up to 40 m.
The SG-45 grenade is capable of floating on the surface of the water and carries a pyrotechnic charge with a burning time of approx. 1 min. A high-explosive charge for the FG-45 creates a shock wave in the water. It negatively affects the hearing organs of the target and the body as a whole. The defeat of manpower is provided within a radius of 12-14 m from the point of detonation. Shooting at targets on land is possible, but gives limited results due to the small number of fragments.
The Nepryadva grenade launcher can be used in a variety of ways. So, the simplest one involves shooting at the location of the target with high-explosive grenades. At night, FG-45 should be interspersed with light SG-45; shooting of the latter is carried out as needed. In the past, it was recommended to use one barrel only with SG-45 grenades, and use the other for shelling a target.
For your tasks
The anti-sabotage grenade launcher DP-64 "Nepryadva" has an unusual design and uses specially designed ammunition. Due to this, it was possible to obtain a sufficient level of performance and provide a solution to a specific combat mission. With the help of "Nepryadva", the grenade launcher can control the water area with a radius of hundreds of meters and, if necessary, attack and destroy enemy manpower under water.
Due to the specific role of DP-64, it is not produced in a large series and receives limited distribution. However, it is able to effectively solve its own task and helps protect important coastal facilities, ships, water areas, etc. There is a place for such weapons even in the current predominantly land-based Special Operation.
