Recruitment offices pick up the last students
Any student of a higher education institution who has studied in a non-accredited specialty can now thunder into the army. Now the Ministry of Defense has begun to appeal even to those students who were previously given an opportunity to complete their education.

The other day, 16 senior students of the Vladimir State University (VlSU) received a call to the military enlistment office for the draft board, after which they would have to go to serve. This news It was an unpleasant surprise for them, as the guys were sure that they had a deferment. They would have the legal right to complete their studies, but only if they entered the specialties with state accreditation. But all these 16 students studied in the specialties that were opened at the university in 2006 year. The university just did not have time to go through the procedure of their accreditation.

Accreditation is an official confirmation of the compliance of training with state standards. Rosobrnadzor can accredit a particular specialty of a higher educational institution only after its first graduation, usually five years after its opening.

As Trud was told at the Vladimir State University, most of the specialties at the university have long been accredited, and only 15 training programs are still waiting for this procedure, which should be completed in the summer of 2011.

Among the new specialties of the Vladimir State University are, for example, “software and administration of information systems”, “metrology, standardization, certification”, “chemical technology and biotechnology”, “photooptics and optoinformatics”. Most of the students who are now going to be sent to the army studied according to them.

The right to call for children studying in non-accredited specialties is provided for by the federal law “On Military Duty and Military Service.” But until recently, military registration and enlistment offices usually met students and gave them peace to complete their education, and the Ministry of Defense did not use this opportunity to increase the number of recruits.

According to experts, the military remembered them because of the sharply exacerbated shortage of conscripts this year. The last two years, the annual conscription to the troops amounts to 550 thousand people, which is twice as many as in previous years. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense officially announced that in the near future, the numbers will increase even more.

“The appetites of the military exceed reasonable boundaries for Russia because of the dramatically worsened demographic situation,” explained the head of the Citizen. Right. Army ”Sergey Krivenko. “In order to fulfill the conscription plans, the Ministry of Defense is simply forced to literally scrape the bottom of the barrel.”

At the same time, analysts say that at the expense of students of non-accredited specialties, the military is unlikely to be able to make any significant gaps in the recruitment of military units. “We can talk about 2 – 3 thousands of young men all over the country,” said Vasily Zatsepin, an expert in the Laboratory of Military Economics at the Institute for the Economy in Transition.

“The Ministry of Defense is more likely to demonstrate determination to take on all recruits in a row than to really need the recruitment of failed students,” Sergei Krivenko agrees.

What to do if you received a subpoena
1. To address a letter to the head of the draft board. It is necessary to describe the situation in detail and describe the circumstances of education. Often the commission goes forward.
2. To sue. Those who entered before the moment canceling the delay for non-accredited specialties (2008 year) have a chance to win in court. Human rights activists say: in practice, the courts take the side of students.
