Large unmanned plans "Rosoboronexport"

15
From November 13 to 18, the ninth international aerospace show Airshow China-2012 takes place in the Chinese city of Zhuhai. The Chinese exhibition is much younger than its foreign competitors, therefore no one expects any records in the field of attendance or the total cost of the signed contracts. Nevertheless, in the early days of the event, several interesting statements were made regarding the Russian aviation industry.

As it turned out, Rosoboronexport has big plans for developing new markets. First of all, the market of unmanned aerial vehicles is of interest to this organization. According to Sergey Kornev, Head of the Rosoboronexport Air Force Department, in the next ten years, until 2022, Russian manufacturers drones can significantly increase their share in the international market. The expected share of deliveries of domestic UAVs in the total market volume can reach the level of five percent. At the same time, no one argues with the fact that it will be quite difficult to achieve such indicators due to high competition in the unmanned part of the aviation market.

The reason for this competition, in the first place, is the interest of potential buyers in unmanned vehicles. For example, now the common desires and needs of Latin American countries are estimated at 5-5,5 billions of dollars, and European countries can buy drones for nine billion. However, the Asian market is the most delicious for manufacturers - more than 14 billion in a few years. At the same time, the European and Asian markets have one interesting feature: a number of countries in these regions have their own production of UAVs, which is why imports account for no more than 30-40 percent of the total purchases. Latin American countries, for their part, are only building their production of unmanned aerial vehicles. Thus, any interested country can offer its products to any South American state. Naturally, this will affect the competition.

In the more distant future, the market of unmanned aerial vehicles, at least, will not reduce its volume. Increasingly, there are suggestions that in the future most aviation, primarily military, will correspond to the concept of remote control or even complete autonomy. It is quite clear that the emergence and spread of unmanned fighters or strike aircraft with characteristics at the level of the current combat aviation will entail an increase in the volume of contracts and the market as a whole. However, while such projects exist only at the level of preliminary ideas and it is too early to build commercial plans.

In the meantime, the bulk of export and import shipments concern light reconnaissance unmanned vehicles designed for use in ground forces. The practice of using such equipment in recent wars has demonstrated their prospects, and now a large number of states are creating their own constructions of this class or buying others. Thanks to such purchases, the fighters of various land units have the opportunity to learn in advance a number of features of the terrain and the location of the enemy, which greatly increases the effectiveness of subsequent actions.

As a matter of fact, light drones with a take-off weight of no more than 12-15 kilograms are one of the main directions of development of the entire industry, including in our country. As developments of this class, having a certain export potential, Kornev called the T10 UAV "Aileron-10" and "Orlan-10". Both of these devices have a take-off weight at the level of 12-14 kilogram and can patrol over the terrain for several hours. A payload of several kilograms allows these devices to carry out tele- and thermal imaging. At the same time, the design of both complexes allows the drone and the launcher to be disassembled for more convenient carrying, including by the calculation forces.

As for the other UAVs, their features often cause complaints. For example, D. Fedutinov, editor-in-chief of Unmanned Aviation magazine, complained about the Grusha complex. According to him, at least a dozen of such UAVs were lost in a short time of operation, and about half of them were lost due to the loss of the signal from the control panel. According to Fedutinov, the Iskatel apparatus is more convenient and promising, which, with the same dimensions and flight data, has slightly more extensive reconnaissance capabilities. In particular, it is able to fix the coordinates of the detected objects, which increases the effectiveness of the reconnaissance flight.

Such seemingly small nuances of design and operation can significantly affect the export prospects of a particular unmanned vehicle. In light of the characteristics of the UAV market, any little thing can cause a loss in the tender. In addition, to achieve the planned "bar" of five percent, Russian manufacturers of unmanned aircraft will have to create truly competitive world-class designs. Otherwise, the leading countries of the industry - Israel and the United States - can not only not reduce their market shares, but also increase them. Currently, they provide about 70% of the international UAV market and it’s not a fact that this share will decrease in the coming years. According to various forecasts, over the next ten years, the UAV market will grow several times. For example, analysts from Forecast International estimate the volume of "internal" and export shipments of UAVs at the beginning of the twenties at the level of 70 billions of dollars per year. As we see, the rapid growth of the industry is well worth the current investment and you need to wish good luck to Rosoboronexport and domestic development companies in the implementation of its plans.

We must not try to catch up with the USA according to their achievements, but come up with something of our own, new, non-standard. For example, their drones are now used as bombers and scouts - which means that it is necessary to develop a fighter - the killer of American UAVs.

Well, attach the air-to-air missiles to the same UAVs and they will become fighters. You can even on airplanes soldier

don’t tell me - you have to somehow direct missiles, and their UAVs (drums, I mean) have nothing but a camera, and they need at least a powerful radar AIR - AIR and completely different software that allows air targets to be fired at ...

Something like that? "The United States plans to deploy a giant unmanned airship Blue Devil in Afghanistan. The Blue Devil will have to carry numerous surveillance and electronic reconnaissance equipment along with an on-board supercomputer that will process and integrate the data. The supercomputer is expected to significantly reduce the workload on analysts (systems such as the recently appeared Gorgon Stare require 2000 people to process information coming from one UAV) and the load on communication channels due to the processing and storage of data on board. Plus a suspension for reconnaissance UAVs and a few drums? And let the adversary hang on fear, for example, in the border regime in the Far East, in Primorye, but you never know where it will fit. So to speak, "flying aircraft carrier".

The Americans have been putting Stingers on their drums for a long time.

In close combat, there is no sense from these UAVs. And so far there is not a single case when a UAV was shot down by a fighter. And "Stinger", by the way, is a close-range missile, its range is something like eight kilometers.

Down and Out trouble started. In 2003, there was already an air battle between the Predator and the Iraqi MiG-25.
Instantly won, but the UAV still managed to launch the Stinger, which, luckily for the Iraqi pilot, followed his missile, not the plane.

Nothing but OLOLO type statements 2022, Russian manufacturers of drones can significantly increase their share in the international market. do not call, we ourselves are sitting with "bare butt" using Israeli equipment and our aircraft models, but we are already dividing the world market ...
From the beginning, you need to build something worthy, and then something competitive, then give it to your army, and then peace is at your feet.
So far you can only marvel at where Kornev has so much optimism. Maybe he knows what secret?

It seems to me that it is necessary to think over the tactics of using UAVs, find a place for them in the military command and control system, and then develop equipment for specific tasks. You need to do it for yourself, and what remains beyond the necessary can be sold.

They discovered America what to say. Actually, if it’s normal, then the tactics of application, purpose, specialization, and technical requirements are thought out first in the troops, after which the technical specifications are drawn up, in accordance with which a new technique is created.

Ideally, UAVs should be available to all field units starting with a company. The field is not plowed. You would have to arm your own, and then think about export.

The phrase "by 2022 may increase" implies that they may not increase.
