Rostec is developing UAVs for group use
Multipurpose multicopter Zala 421-24

The current Special Operation has confirmed the value and necessity of unmanned aerial vehicles, and has also become an incentive for the further development of this area. The domestic industry is developing a number of new unmanned systems with different functions and capabilities. So, the other day they announced plans to create a light multicopter for reconnaissance and strike purposes, capable of working in a group.

From official source

January 27 RIA News published a new interview with Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation. The topic of conversation was the activities of the corporation and enterprises from its composition in the current conditions, the fulfillment of the defense order and new developments in various fields. In particular, they touched upon the production of UAVs and the further development of this area.

S. Chemezov noted that Rostec enterprises are ready to produce and supply the armed forces with the necessary Drones. As an example, he cited the activities of the Kalashnikov concern represented by Zala Aero. The latter produces loitering ammunition "Lancet", which are widely used in the current Special Operation.

New projects are also being developed. The head of Rostec said that a small tactical copter is currently being created, capable of automatically conducting reconnaissance, finding targets and aiming artillery at them. Also, this technique will be able to independently attack ground targets with grenades. The possibility of group use of UAVs as part of the so-called. swarm.

Product Zala 421-22

More details about this project are not yet available. It is not known which organization is developing it, how soon the product will be brought to production and delivered to the troops, etc. Of all the performance characteristics, only the approximate carrying capacity is mentioned - the UAV will be able to carry a grenade. Finally, even the designation of the project is not named.

According to S. Chemezov, the unmanned aviation technology significantly influenced the nature of hostilities and changed it. This fact is understood in industry and in the Ministry of Defense, and the necessary measures are being taken. Close cooperation has been established in these matters.

Combination of technologies

The head of Rostec gave only the most basic information about the promising UAV and did without details. However, this information is also of great interest. First of all, it shows the presence of promising developments in the field of unmanned aircraft. In addition, important approaches are demonstrated in the context of technology application. Well-mastered and proven solutions are actively used, and their development is carried out at the same time. If necessary, new technologies are created and implemented to obtain certain benefits.

As reported, the new multi-purpose UAV will be built according to the scheme of a multi-rotor helicopter. Apparently, it will have limited dimensions and weight, but it will be able to carry some cargo. The creation of such an air platform is not particularly difficult. Products of this kind are already produced by our industry, incl. using domestic element base.

As a target load, the drone will carry reconnaissance equipment - probably a video camera and a communication system for transmitting data to the operator. The creation of this part of the unmanned complex as a whole is not difficult. It can use existing developments and available components.

Loitering ammunition "Lancet"

As reported, the unmanned complex will receive a special control system. With such a system, he will be able to automatically conduct reconnaissance and determine the coordinates of the target, and then issue target designation or independently hit it. The possibilities of group use as part of a "swarm" are also being worked out. Probably, they will also keep the "traditional" mode of operation on the operator's commands. In addition, the operator will be able to monitor the autonomous operation of individual UAVs or groups.

Such operating modes place special demands on the onboard control and communication systems. It is the development of the appropriate hardware and software with all the required functions that is the most difficult part of the new Rostec project. At this stage, various difficulties are possible related to the overall complexity of the project, the need to develop new tools, the availability of necessary components, etc.

However, the expected result will fully justify the effort. The main result of the project will be the UAV itself with new capabilities. He will be able to get into the armed forces and make it easier for them to solve a number of combat missions. In addition, the project will provide important experience and new technologies that can later be used in the development of the next UAVs with special capabilities.

With clear benefits

It's not hard to imagine how new technologies will help a promising drone find a place in the army. A number of features have been announced for it, due to which it will be possible to simplify the solution of familiar tasks or ensure the implementation of additional ones. In this case, obvious advantages over "ordinary" UAVs will be achieved.

The ability of a drone to fly independently and stay in the air is nothing new. At the same time, the UAV will be able to automatically conduct reconnaissance and issue ready-made data to the operator. This level of autonomy is very interesting and can be useful from a practical point of view. The potential of autonomous reconnaissance can be increased through the group work of drones. Such a "swarm" will be able to close a significant area of \uXNUMXb\uXNUMXbthe terrain and look for targets for firepower on it. If necessary, UAVs will be able to replace each other on duty.

Drone-kamikaze "Cube"

The use of light UAVs as carriers of some ammunition is also not a new idea. However, independent search and target selection with permission to attack from the operator will expand combat capabilities. In addition, a whole "swarm" of armed drones can participate in combat duty in the air. Perhaps UAVs will be able to exchange target designation, which will increase the likelihood of timely detection and hitting the target.

It is obvious that the new UAVs will retain the "normal" modes of operation - according to the operator's commands or according to a simplified flight program. They can be used alone or in combination with fundamentally new modes. However, such modes will only be in addition to the main ones.

Waiting for new items

Thus, the Russian industry is developing the direction of unmanned aircraft and offers new solutions and technologies. Fundamentally new ideas for domestic military UAVs are being developed, due to which it will be possible to obtain obvious advantages.

How soon this project will be able to bring, at least to the test, has not yet been reported. However, he has already reached the stage where you can talk about him openly. The recent announcement of a new drone may indicate that the project has successfully passed the early stages, and it can already be expected that more details will appear in the near future.

Well, the design of this apparatus was not impressive, garbage on profile pipes. For decency, they could have a composite frame and then you can already add a couple more grenades. In fact, if only the money was not pulled for finishing vodka, but rather they would be sent to the front. We know how to chat and promise better than to produce and take responsibility for what has been said.

How soon will this project be brought to at least testing
Well, anyway, a year after the start of the CBO .... And they should be ready yesterday!

Geranium is even more bullshit, if you use your terminology, but what a howl is in / in Ukraine.
The bad thing is that they only took care of it. And after all, it’s not the designers who are to blame for this, how many such novelties have been presented at exhibitions in recent years, our military department in the person of Krivoruchko twisted his nose.

For 10 (ten) years, the leaders, and not the leaders too, have been working on the theme of "a swarm of battlefield drones", and Rostec decided to quickly and immediately do it only in 2023. Well, I'll only be happy if we develop it and apply it before the enemy. Yes, this is a weapon that will turn modern combined arms combat. When the drone will independently detect and hit the fighter, and not like the operator now throws grenades from the drone in manual control mode. Just imagine how a swarm of 300-400 microdrones falls on the defense zone and hits all living things and weapons, including those in shelters. Chasing individual fighters, vehicles, equipment. Transfers everything online where the computer forms a 3D picture of the battle and sends drones armed with suitable weapons. Where the loss of all drones does not stop the attack, but causes an even larger swarm. This is not fiction, the countdown is on to the date of such a fight ... or rather a massacre. Wake up lampas!

you can add a couple more grenades

Why a couple of grenades? request There is an RGS-50 grenade launcher ... feathered fragmentation and cumulative grenades go to it ... (in fact, the modern "analogue" of 50-mm "company" mines of the past!) Ready-made "bombs"! Why grenades ... why remake "wogs"? stop

Well, the swarm does not burn at all, as part of the initiative development - as much as you like, but so far it’s not even close. But the UAVs themselves are of a military profile, without holes in the protection, including software or via a communication channel - this is necessary

Ahhh, again the brilliant academician Chemezov, who will develop, build and arrange. There are already so many developments behind him that sparks fly. I even wonder why this brilliant academic has not yet been called to work at Apple or Google - he could develop so much for them. Well, in general, so another red-haired academician, who faded to Israel, against the background of academician Chemezov, is just an example of morality and honesty.

It once again proves the truth that the use of state corporations is, at best, extremely minimal, but the negative effect is enormous. Any scientific and technical state corporation is, first of all, a sawmill of colossal state funds and a source of huge income for all managers and officials who in one way or another are related to these structures. And everything these state corporations do is fed with promises to develop something unique. Well, the result will either be deplorable (none), or it will be possible to sell the state some cheap fake from China at a price of 5 or even 10 times more expensive than their export price.

Firstly, the philosophical teaching of Epicureanism suggests enjoying life, and not throwing shit on the fan, so it’s the antipode of the sewer. Secondly, the 'Product' Zala 421-22f was presented at the exhibition, back in 2014 - https://www.aex.ru/news/2014/4/16/119458/

some cheap fake from China at a price of 5 or even 10 times more expensive than their export price

You don't have to go far for examples. Our "radiant" Almaz-Antey was also going to make drones according to this scheme. It buys almost all components for small UAVs in China, assembles them at home, sticks its own nameplate with its name and sells MO at twice the price of a similar one assembled in China.

I wonder what stage it is? Acceptance stage, MORF is not against drones in principle?

The recent announcement of a new drone may indicate a successful project going through the early stages,

Those. all 4 previous ones: denial, anger, bargaining, depression - passed and the MORP gerontocracy resigned itself to the inevitable? Isn't it too late?

and it can already be expected that in the near future there will be new details.

Those. not expect new UAVs at the front, but only expect new details? Everything was cut according to the classics from Rostec. And when it will be completely indecent to shift to the right, you see, they will no longer be needed and all expenses will be written off and forgotten.

I re-read the article and somehow didn’t find data there about the promising UAV range, flight time, load, etc., I thought that I hadn’t noticed in such a large volume of the article, I took it and re-read it again .... And I realized that there was nothing in the article except that this is something promising, one set of letters, well, somehow it’s not serious, I would like the material expanded to some extent

There is another interesting idea of using multicopters ... "flying" directional mines, both anti-personnel and anti-tank! (The Armed Forces of Ukraine try to use MON-50 and, sometimes, MON-100 mines, "tying" them to the copters and blowing them up over the positions of the Russian troops ... In this case, the copters become "disposable"! But "the game may be worth the candle" In addition, it is possible to provide for the release of mines by parachute ...) I do not consider the "mine" idea - the "know-how" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine! Since long before CBO I met such an idea in "free patents"!

Well, actually dropping grenades is a game for the public. The effect is incomprehensible. But reconnaissance, adjustment, guidance - this is what you need. A komikaze UAV with a decent charge is what we also need, as a strike against everything that drives, moves or stands still.

Zala is a private office that Kalashnikov bought. Rostec has nothing to do with it
Rostec cannot develop anything, it can only make statements in the future tense.
All successful drones have created private offices from Orlan to Orion, not state sharashas

This fact is understood in industry and in the Ministry of Defense, and the necessary measures are being taken.

Finally it happened. The multi-star finally reached. Thirty years did not reach and was not necessary. Only when the rooster crowed. But understanding it is one thing, doing it is quite another. It is not necessary to believe this storyteller Chemezov. He had previously shown himself in all his glory, promised a lot of things, boasted and demonstrated to Putin and the whole country "unparalleled in the world" gadgets, engines, planes, tanks, UAVs and so on. And where is all this? At parades, at exhibitions in single copies, but not in production and not in the army. It is high time for the president to change these mossy, incapable of anything except for the personal enrichment of officials, managers and generals. Maybe then something will change for the better.

I recommend a rather interesting article on the first domestic drone:

    http://andriuha077.narod.ru/aero/izrailskiy_harop_eto_russkiy_g1.html
in 2001, a small Moscow company "2T-engineering" began the development of a fundamentally new unmanned aircraft "G-1", the head of the development team Igor Tabachuk ...
    Exposure:
“An interesting conversation was a long time ago with one of the officials in uniform. He asked: do the Americans have such planes? They answered that they didn’t.

Rostec can develop anything, as long as it is not in the series and in large numbers, the meaning of such developments and the value of news about them are near zero. An idea costs 10 cents.

I propose that the leadership of Rostec and the Moscow Region, responsible for the creation of drones, be sent to the trenches for two weeks, and then removed from there and offered to solve the problem in a month or get into the trenches again. And so it is with everyone who is directly or indirectly responsible for the death of our guys at the front.

This whole nonsense about "developed" is being carried out in order to justify their funding and, therefore, a comfortable existence. At present, it is urgently necessary to start producing 3-4 models for the squad-platoon, battery level. And for this, it is enough to choose from the already existing imported ones, those models that can be localized as much as possible within the country and copied.

Another prodigy from Rostec. Hooray, there is hope that by 2050 the Russian Federation will show everyone what UAVs can do. As I understand it, to spray fields with slaves of Slavic origin. Yes, when those on whom the production of UAVs depends finally wake up, Australia is already producing decent UAVs and papier mache. Well, steal it, in the end it’s a paper version and stupidly copy it, maybe it’s enough to puff out your cheeks, where is the zilch at the exit?
