The head corvette of this series “The Stereguschiy”, for the creation of which a group of workers at the Severnaya Verf shipyard was awarded state awards, became a part of the Baltic in 2008 fleet. Also, at the Severnaya Verf shipyard, the Boyky and Stoyky corvettes are under construction. In the coming years, they should be part of our fleet. These ships are designed to operate in the near sea zone and to combat surface ships and submarines of the enemy, as well as to provide artillery support for naval assault during naval landing operations by launching missile and artillery attacks on ships and ships at sea and bases, patrolling the area of responsibility with a view to blockade.

As planned, in late October, the main frigate of one of the projects, the Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov, which was laid on the Northern Shipyard berth in 2006, will be launched. The frigates of this project are designed to conduct combat operations in the near and far sea zones, as well as to participate in solving various tasks in the ocean zone. The serial ship of this project, the Admiral of the Kasaton fleet, is also being built at the Severnaya Verf.

Today, Severnaya Verf is one of the largest shipbuilding enterprises in Russia, with nearly 100 years of experience. history and specializing in the construction of warships for the Navy. On ships built by the Northern Shipyard, for example, for the first time in the world, the so-called longitudinal dialing system was used. The designers of the Severnaya Verf created the first ship-driven steam turbine. The destroyer built "Northern shipyard" became the carrier of the first anti-ship cruise missile. And the Northern Shipyard missile cruisers were the first domestic surface ships capable of carrying nuclear weapon. The first gas turbines in the world were installed on the ships, as well as the first helicopter landing sites in the history of the fleet were equipped.

At present, Severnaya Verf has a qualified personnel potential and technical capabilities that allow building ships and vessels with a maximum displacement of up to 12 thousand tons and a launch weight of up to 7 thousand tons. But at the "Northern Shipyard" not only build, but also restore the ships. So, the specialists of this particular company have recently completed the restoration of the English cruiser Belfast - the only artillery ship in Europe - a participant in the Second World War, which has survived to the present day.
