An impressive group of foreign military personnel was invited to personally meet the J-10 (Jian-10) fighter: a multi-purpose single-seat fighter of the 3+ generation, developed by the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation in cooperation with the 611th Aviation Research Institute (Chengdu).

Fighter designs were launched in 1980-x, he made his first flight in 2002, but the fact of its adoption by the PLA was officially made public only at the end of 2006.

"So far, we have not had the opportunity to physically see this plane in flight; it has become

an excellent opportunity for the military from all over the world to see this significant PLA Air Force aircraft in the air, ”said Salman Ahsan Bokhari, Pakistan’s military attache to the PRC at the end of the minute air show, at the end of 15.

In his words, Pakistan "is exploring the possibility of buying this aircraft." As the commander of the 24 Fighter Division Yan Feng told reporters, the estimated cost of the J-10 is 190 million yuan (27,9 million dollars).

The exclusive show and the fighter itself were positively assessed by representatives of the Western powers.

"This is a good third-generation aircraft that can compete with representatives of this class, excellent pilots," commented Steven Wilson, the air force and naval attache of Great Britain, who commented on what he saw.

Both the creators and the main users of J-10 for today - the Chinese military pilots are pleased with the aircraft.

“Among its advantages are maneuverability, reliability and an integrated onboard equipment system. I am proud that China has created such an aircraft, ”the commander of the 24 th Fighter Division, Yan Feng, told the guests.

He assured that the use of such military equipment of the PRC will never be against their "friends" and said that next year the pilots of the "First of August", a detachment performing demonstrations at parades and an air show in the PRC will probably take part in demonstrative flights abroad.

The first Chinese fighter could not do without the use of Israeli and Russian technologies. In particular, it uses the Russian engine AL-31F. As Assistant Military Attaché of the Russian Embassy in Beijing Alexander Korenev noted after watching the technology, for Russia fighters like J-10 are a long time past. Nevertheless, he noted the high training of Chinese pilots and the quality of the maneuvers they perform.

“Today they showed a good level of flying skill and coherence, which indicates a high level of training of the flight personnel of the PLA Air Force,” said the military diplomat.

He recalled, however, that despite the rapid development, currently there is a serious technical dependence of the Chinese Air Force on Russian developments.
