Russian soldiers get more calories than American

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation launched a television commercial on television that claims that the army’s supply has become much better. And the number of calories Russian soldiers even ahead of the Americans. And the organization "Soldiers' Mothers" recognized that the soldiers are no longer kept in a hungry body, as it was in the nineties of the last century.

According to the press service of the military department, according to the order of the Ministry regarding the food supply of military personnel, which entered into force on June 21, 2011, recruits receive food three times a day. And since January 2012, soldier food is carried out by civilian organizations. According to representatives of the General Staff of the Russian armed forces, the transition to outsourcing was the result of a significant improvement in the diets of the personnel.

Every day, soldiers get about 4400 calories, which greatly exceeds this figure in the armed forces of the United States, Germany, France and the UK. The new diet necessarily includes fruits, juices, and the well-known barley, on the contrary, has disappeared (although it should be noted that it is very useful for the body!).

In addition, soldiers may eat more in certain conditions: with additional load during exercises, physical training, multi-kilometer marches, as well as in mountainous conditions and during the cold season.

It should also be noted that a greater number of calories are received by conscripts - paratroopers and in the naval forces fleet. Four meals a day are provided there, with the exception of holidays and weekends.

If we compare the food in the Russian army with the American one, then in the US Army the daily ration should not exceed 3600 calories. If we are talking about increased load in physical training - it is 4-5 thousands of calories, and if you are training in mountainous areas with equipment - this figure increases to 6-7 thousands of calories. All these conditions are spelled out in the recommendations on the standards of food separately for each branch of service: land, air force and naval forces. These recommendations are based on perennial studies that were specifically commissioned by the military command. Moreover, there is even a special research institute within the structure of the United States Department of Defense.

All standards are spelled out on average. For example, in the US Army, the average weight of a male military is 79 kg with a height of 175 centimeters, women - 62 kg with a height of 163 centimeters. If a person does not fit the parameters, a diet is specially selected for him. If a soldier has problems with overweight, his daily diet should not exceed 1500-1600 calories.

In addition, conditions are specifically spelled out when an increase in the amount of nutrition is necessary. This is not only cold weather, when the ration needs to be increased by 5-10 percent, but also hot, when the diet is increased by 2,5-10 percent. Indicated and the amount of nutrients that should be contained in food. Thus, the amount of fat should not exceed 30 percent, proteins - 10-15 percent, carbohydrates - 50-55 percent.

If we talk about the Russian army, then there is a diametrically opposite problem - it is undernourished recruits. Their exact number is unknown, since the statistics are maintained autonomously by the military units of military units. Of course, it is obvious that the reason for this state of affairs is not the army, the root of the problem lies in the families of military personnel.

Currently, soldiers who have problems with underweight, additionally issued products. They are grouped in a separate category, which, like the very tall soldiers, has a separate cook. According to representatives of the military department of the Russian Federation, for soldiers with a weight deficit, they first carry out a course of reinforced nutrition, and the level of physical activity for them is significantly reduced. And only after the weight returns to normal, such recruits can begin classes along with the rest.

Recently, more and more complaints from commanders related to poor physical training of soldiers. Therefore, the Ministry of Defense decided to increase the time for conducting physical training of personnel to 25 hours weekly. In this connection, the daily routine was also changed: the hour of afternoon nap was turned on, and the night rest was increased by half an hour. Also, soldiers can rest longer on weekends. Such changes have become possible partly due to the switch to outsourcing, since the focus is on military training, and not on daily work assignments.

Positive aspects of the transition to outsourcing are also noted in the organization “Soldiers' Mothers”. According to her representative, human rights activist Valentina Melnikova, at present there are practically no complaints about poor nutrition, unlike 1990's, when the soldiers were starving, because there was no money for their food, but to be honest, they simply did not exist. She notes that one of the few problems of the new system is the emergence of queues in the canteens, but such cases are not very frequent and are solved almost without conflict. V.Melnikova also says that the only part of the military personnel who may be dissatisfied with the food, are those soldiers who have to work in the field. This, as a rule, exercises, work on the disposal of ammunition at the sites. Here there may be interruptions in the supply of food.

Recall, the new system of domestic security of the Russian army - outsourcing - appeared in the framework of the general reform of the armed forces. Its essence lies in the fact that instead of the rear men and nachprodov, suppliers and civilian chefs began to deal with food supply problems. Of course, there are enough problems with the new system - either poisoning or lack of products ...

It is noteworthy that the monopoly in providing the armed forces with food has become ... Voentorg. It was he who concluded the main part of contracts with outsourcing companies, which now have the task of providing soldiers with food. The new system is well established in the central regions, especially in the elite parts. If we talk about the periphery, here the situation is somewhat different. The fact is that to find professionals who could prepare high-quality food for the soldiers a little. And a soldier is already forbidden to engage in such work.

Thus, if outsourcing is quite suitable for the capital, then it is a big problem for the province, because not the quality of food comes to the forefront, but the desire to "get into" the allocated funds, especially since the new conditions have increased the cost of maintaining one fighter . So, if earlier this amount was 115 rubles, now it has grown to 195 rubles.

Therefore, many people believe that with the abolition of army cuisine, the government and the military department hurried a bit, changed the “bike for a scooter”. If we switch to outsourcing, then state control should be at the level. Otherwise, they will both steal and steal ...

The first days all these cereals do not climb into the throat! But with a lack of weight on the demobilization, no one left. Sweets were not enough in the diet, they got it through the tea room. In training on the day of jumps, additional noodles with stew. When enlisted in the crew (AN-12) switched to the reactive norm, it’s generally a fairy tale chocolate, fruits, waitresses smile There was a problem with the delivery of the duty officer to the airfield - everything cooled down, in winter they warmed them up in a stoker at hand, in summer everything was at room temperature. There were thermoses on guard. In general, a lot depends on the unit commander. Where he is a "native father" there is a diet.

I misunderstood something - the author of the article by his name wants to tell us all about some advantage in the nutrition of Russian soldiers over American ones ?!
Is this a joke or are you serious?
It would be worthwhile to show a photo report from American military canteens for a clearer picture of the realities of the service of American soldiers. That would be honest

Yeah, apparently the nutrition problems in the Russian army are simply unsolvable for a given period of time in principle. Something needs to be changed in the heads of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense

however, do not forget that the American soldier eats beautifully served polystyrene, rubber, soya feces, replacing meat and milk, as well as a bunch of antibiotic and GMO meat and legumes. Somehow, pin-dosnik-warriors let it slip that if they fall into the hands of Russian dry land, then they just get some kind of holiday ....

Not without this, however, under Philadelphia there was a military base and the impression that they were there in the majority of goons and bullies. This probably happens because there are no norms on the appeal where they mow all who fall under the arm, and under the contract they try to choose according to their health.

Everyone, as you know, has different organisms and assimilates these calories differently. In fact, they are considered directly stupid because
              1 Different metabolisms
              2 Different climatic zones
3 Different food traditions. Here is a banal example with soups without them in our area is very sad especially in cold weather. Or with porridges similarly. For example, I tried different dry packs. I like IRP-1 the most. I tried American, French, Spanish, German.

PROFESSOR, you can give a soldier a day two loaves of white bread with margarine and half a kilo of fat - and talk further about the advantage of calories over common sense and healthy nutrition for young people. However, in the armies of civilized countries, in which increased attention is paid to this issue, they do something different. Special scientific centers and monitoring posts in this matter were created there. I would like to see the Russian response to the enemies.

Professor - this is not an optical illusion, it’s just incorrect information of the Russian military on this issue. In general, no one restricts an American soldier in food - take as much as you want, except for fulfilling the physical standards and the clause in the contract, according to which he can be punished, up to dismissal, for being too overweight. Therefore, you see, especially in the US Marine Corps, real boars. The recipe is very simple - high-quality and plentiful choice of food and strict physical requirements.
Oh, and also about American calories - we don’t forget that there are fast food points on each base, and these guys know a lot about fast and super-calorie meals)

I remember potatoes in jars and dried, and as for the barley, I’ll say, they made pilaf with wild garlic, i.e. fry + onion + stew fry in an autoclave (we have KP-75), then pour washed pearl barley into this simmering meat and vegetable mixture, fill it with water 2-3 cm from the cereal level, screw the lid 30-40 min over medium heat, then pour it finely chopped wild garlic (in the mountains it was full from mid-May to mid-June) add salt + butter and leave for 5 minutes over low heat to lick, you lick your fingers, I even liked this pilaf more than rice. And they also made a coffee drink from pearl barley, roast it to brown, grind it and make it, not an espresso, of course, but as they say in fishless fish and cancer.

"According to the order of the Ministry regarding food supply for military personnel, which came into force on June 21, 2011, conscripts receive food three times a day."

You might think they used to get it three times a week.
But about 4 meals a day in the Airborne Forces surprised, we need to find out in more detail, something is unclear here.

When we were in school, it was 4 meals a day on flights, the so-called second breakfast at the start (though it was half from this breakfast), but it turned out four times!

And the instructors do not, everything is standard there!

About a year ago, before hoarseness, they argued with a friend (he lives in Germany and came to visit his relatives) who are better fed. He was not too lazy and called a friend who was going to Moscow with a request to get a NATO dry pack for comparison ... as I recall, I still laugh, and then there was a hysteria ...
They brought it, they got me our new rations, I won’t lie. I don’t remember the marker, but the stew / porridge / jam and compote are dry + biscuits and some kind of dessert (it didn’t come to him) .. for the purity of the experiment, we prepared everything according to the instructions and agreed to eat first ours, and then them ... ate ours, in general, restrainedly praised ... proceeded to their ration ... laughing I’m looking choking ... I’m telling them, will you add salt on the outsole with a bag? laughing they sent me in the ass ... in short threw rations ... it is impossible for a normal person to eat ... well, or for someone who is not used to such a synthetic feed .... like this ... in general, I think our ration is better. Only two significant points are inconvenient heating and packaging.

I remember our feeding. He served urgently from 1969 to 71 in Hungary, in Budapest, Matiashföld district, (can anyone respond). A huge canteen, feeding in 2 shifts, tables for ten people, two cauldrons were placed at the end of the table - one with so-called borscht (naturally with mixed fats), the other with porridge, often with millet or barley (it is clear that cooked by "skillful "chefs). And, finally, the most delicacy - a bowl with pieces of BOILED LAT filled with gravy, red. Bread is a plate of white, and the blackies. A piece of butter. For two years I have not been able to touch the main delicacy. Many got used to it, even the guys who were from Tatarstan and Bashkiria. First, not in any, and then - hunger is not aunt ... For all the time, once they fed meatballs with buckwheat and good gravy (then the then Defense Minister Grechko came), the second time meatballs also with buckwheat (some major Moscow political Chief). Since then, I have a disgusting attitude to all cereals. Upon his return to the Union, he asked for food who served at home - no one had such a thing. Yes, something surged ... Sorry.

We must cherish our traditions and order. Always, both in the Russian army and in the Soviet, a good and healthy principle has been preserved to the soldier's rations and ration. Then everything to obedience - to work. Dinner is always lean, without fish and dairy. Passion week - only potatoes with cabbage, the last 3 days - bread and water. Porridge on the water, wallpaper flour, a fleshman, smelly sour cabbage, pieces of boiled fat ... Although the paratroopers did not hear them complaining. And I agree, a lot depended on the unit commander, but the majority did not give a damn about the soldiers ’diet. They said that in the infantry only 20g. Yes, I still have 65g of sugar. I don’t know how many others have.
Otherwise, everything is the same - Panevezha kombat, which freezes on the lips, since its melting temperature is higher than the temperature of the human body. Sauerkraut, pieces of boiled bacon and paste (dry potatoes in the form of cereals), which even rats refused to eat. But even if it all came down to the soldier. that would be fine. But the theft of ensigns, and the eternal "hunger" of the officers who believed that to eat in the soldiers' canteen (food is sold only at l / s) from the belly and of course only the best, their sacred right, did their job.

Outsourcing is a good thing, but again we have come from the wrong side!
Why ruin the food service, the cadre of military cooks! Indeed, who will feed the troops in the conduct of hostilities!
Why not carry out unskilled work by hired workers of civilian firms, namely: peeling potatoes, washing dishes, floors, cleaning halls, i.e. what the dining room outfit does. And cooks and food service workers should be involved in providing food for personnel. But in this situation, it will not be necessary to increase the cost of a soldier’s food, and it will not work out especially to cut budget money !!!
So there will be certain high-ranking hillocks with two unclean hands clutching for outsourcing!
