Engineering Technologies-2012. The first days of the forum
According to the good old tradition, the most attention is drawn to armored vehicles. “The highlight of the armored program” this time was the new T-90S tank. This development of Uralvagonzavod has undergone a number of serious changes compared to previous modifications of the T-90. The most important of them is the new tower. It was re-designed to meet the wishes of the military and modern views on the application tanks. The electronics of the tank were radically updated: it received a new weapon control system, new communication equipment, etc. According to various estimates, the combat potential of the machine has grown one and a half to two times. But, unfortunately, the T-90S so far has only more or less clear export prospects. Due to the beginning of the development of a new family of Armata armored vehicles, the fate of the new development of Uralvagonzavod remains in question. Probably, the domestic ground forces will not see such tanks. Although it is not worth excluding the possibility of procurement.
As for other types of armored vehicles, there has so far been almost nothing new. Of all that’s worth attention is the BMPT tank support machine and the Bakhcha combat module. The latter was developed by the Tula Instrument Design Bureau and is intended for installation on any available type of armored vehicles. Interestingly, in the past few months, rumors about the beginning of the development of an updated version of Bakhchi appeared several times. If this is true, then at the next TVM-2012 forum, at least the layout of the updated module can be displayed. In addition to the Tula KBP, other manufacturers also presented their light armored vehicles. We think it is not too late to warn the reader that a large part of the "exhibits" of the exhibition from Friday to Sunday will take part in the military-patriotic program "The Invincible and Legendary." The program includes figure driving, demonstration shooting and many other spectacular combat actions.
True, in groundbreaking performances, most likely, only ground equipment will participate. At least, aviation the program is not included in the existing TVM-2012 schedule. Nevertheless, aircraft construction is also represented at the forum stands. The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) once again raised the topic of the MC-21 short- and medium-haul passenger aircraft. In the future, this aircraft will have to replace the outdated and outdated Tu-154, as well as foreign equipment of a similar class. Apparently, the creation of a passenger aircraft is going on actively, although not without problems. An example is the situation with the engine for the MC-21. So, at TVM-2012, the United Engine Corporation (UEC) presented a model of the PD-14 turbofan engine. Serial production of this motor is still planned to be launched in 2016. At the same time, the UAC plans to start mass production of the MS-21 in the same year. Obviously, the UAC and the UEC must work together so as not to disrupt each other's plans. At the same time, UAC several months ago agreed with the American company Pratt & Whitteney for the supply of engines of a similar class. We can only guess where the imported motors will go.
In addition to purely military equipment, civil and dual-use developments were presented at the exhibition Technology in Mechanical Engineering-2012. For example, the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant (UOMZ) presented its line of optical observation systems. The scope of such equipment is more than great. In fact, these systems can be used wherever there is a need for remote visual observation of something. From ensuring the safety of citizens and monitoring communications to intelligence and rescue operations. One of the latest developments of UOMZ is the СОН-730 system. This complex has a relatively small size and weight (about 25 kg). With regard to user characteristics, the optics of the system allows you to monitor objects located at a distance of up to ten kilometers from the complex. Of course, with proper weather conditions. If necessary, say representatives of the plant, SON-730 can be equipped with various accessories, for example, to provide automatic tracking of the object. In this configuration, the surveillance system can be integrated into anti-aircraft control systems, etc. armament.
Edition Utro.ru draws attention to another development of the Ural Optical-Mechanical Plant - IDN-03. Under this obscure index is an intensive care incubator for newborns. The complex resuscitation equipment allows you to care for premature babies or to provide the necessary conditions for newborns in the postoperative period. According to the representatives of the plant, with the help of incubators of the IDN family, developed at UOMZ, about one and a half million children were saved.
As it happens at such events, the first couple of days of the forum are intended only for representatives of enterprises manufacturing machinery and equipment, potential customers, etc. Since 29 July, the exhibition opens its doors to everyone. On the same day, the first screening of the Invincible and Legendary program will be held. In the following days, the program will be shown twice a day.
