Poland and the Czech Republic proposed options for modernization of the Cube air defense systemThe US company Raytheon and the Polish WZU-2 have developed their own version of the modernization of self-propelled 2-12 anti-aircraft missile systems "Cube", reports Lenta.ru referring to Jane's Defense Weekly.

In the future, the Czech company Retia can also offer its own option for upgrading Cubes. It is possible that one of the options for the modernization of the air defense system can be ordered by the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic.

Production, installation and maintenance of automatic gates. What are automatic gates? The automatic gates include: street gates - this is a sliding (sliding) and swing gates that block the entrance to the object; garage doors are more often sectional gates that rise to the ceiling and sometimes the role-gates that wind on the shaft. At the request of the customer on all types of gates you can install the appropriate automation.

The Czech Defense Ministry intends to launch a Soviet-made Cuba modernization program, which will be completed by 2015. Financing of the program will be about one billion CZK (46 million dollars). According to Raytheon, the Czech modernization of the anti-aircraft complex includes more advanced equipment, but it costs much more than the Polish version.

The basis of the modernization of "Cubes" will be the replacement of all analog equipment to digital. In this case, the launchers in the Polish version of the modernization and in the Czech Republic are supposed to equip American missiles RIM-7M Sea Sparrow, produced by Raytheon. The US company will be engaged in the replacement of propulsion systems and rocket batteries, and will also provide technical support up to the 2025 year.

Presumably, the Polish and Czech modernization proposal will attract the interest of those countries that are already armed with the Kub air defense system and which intend to extend their service life. Among the most likely customers are the Czech Republic, India and Egypt. In India, a partial replacement of obsolete "Cubes" on the Akash national development SAM system is currently underway.

modernization in the end will be expensive, because almost the entire filling and armament is changing, only the platform is unchanged, but there are no advantages in it, it could be developed from scratch.
