From "Smile" will be brighter all ... RPMK-1 "Smile"
RPMK-1 “Smile” is a new mobile radio direction-finding complex for meteorological purposes that performs humidity, wind and temperature sounding probes to transmit the received data to anti-aircraft and field artillery systems, rocket launchers, tactical missile systems, airborne forces and airborne forces. Designed and created in OKB "Peleng", the production is engaged in the Ural company "Vector". Today it is the most modern complex for providing military units with necessary meteorological data. The complex "Smile" uses adaptive data processing and management methods. It implemented the elements of artificial intelligence.
Using different types of sensing, the complex operates at an altitude of up to 40 kilometers and in range to 200 kilometers. The team of the complex of 5-ti man will be able to bring him into a combat position within 600 seconds. The complex can be operated at temperatures from + 40 to -40 degrees, with relative humidity up to 98 degrees and height above sea level to 3 thousands of kilometers.
The composition of the complex:
- the main machine with the equipment, made on the base of the chassis "Ural-43203";
- a machine with an electrical station, made on the basis of the chassis "URAL-43203";
- a trailer for transportation of cylinders, made on the basis of the chassis "1-П-2.5";
The main modes of operation:
- radio direction finding mode. Used probes "MRZ-5", used output documents: "METEO-11 / 44" and "LAYER";
- radar mode. Probes “MRZ-3 / 4” are used, output documents: “STORM”, “LAYER”, “KH-4” and “GROUND-LAYER”
Key Features:
- altitude "METEO" sounding 30 kilometers;
- The height of the "KN" sounding 40 kilometers;
- range "METEO" sounding 150 kilometers;
- range "KN" sounding 200 kilometers;
- The team of the complex - 5 people;
- time of transition from traveling to combat position - 600 seconds;
- time between failures - 210 hours;
- type of stealth works - direction finding mode;
- used fuel - diesel.
PS It may seem that the methods used are “old-fashioned”, but do not forget about the accuracy, speed and final cost of the complex. One thing is clear that bindings to natural landmarks will provide better accuracy than foreign analogues using satellites and modern electronics. The complex tried to combine all the best (old and new) in this area.
