McMillan CS5 ™ Sniper Rifle
Gale McMillan, the founder of McMillan began to produce weapon for their own needs in 1973. Today, the family-owned company McMillan is well known worldwide as a manufacturer of high-class small arms. One of the latest samples is the McMillan CS5 ™ sniper rifle. It is a little noisy subsonic / supersonic sniper system designed for covert and disguised use in urban environments.
The CS5 rotary bolt rifle was specifically designed as a compact, low-noise precision weapon. The shortened and standard configurations are intended for use by both militarized and law enforcement units.
With the butt and silencer removed, the length of the CS5 is just 580 mm, which allows it to be placed in a backpack or other non-attracting case.
Using 0.308 Winchester subsonic munitions allows CS5 to achieve 0.2 mrad accuracy (0.75 minutes of a degree), and in urban environments it can be even better. The same accuracy can be achieved with typical NATO 7.62-mm ammunition. Thus, this firearm can be used both with subsonic ammunition, and as a traditional sniper rifle.
When developing a rifle, the wishes of snipers of elite military units were taken into account. A freely adjustable butt can fit any user, regardless of his height, build, clothing or shooting position. The rifle can be unlocked without removing the finger with the trigger. Index marks make it easy to bring the rifle into the previously selected combat setting, the Anschutz ® trigger mechanism allows you to adjust the stroke length and descent force.
