CBT "Pinocchio" destroys the enemy with fire and sudden pressure drops

The Buratino Russian heavy flame-thrower system (TOC) destroys the enemy with the help of pressure drops and burns its position with fire. The combat vehicle hits targets at a distance of 8 kilometers.

The system consists of a chassis tank T-72, on which instead of a tower there is a launcher designed for an ammunition load of 30 missiles (the first TOS models had 24 missiles). The launcher is located on a rotating platform. Volley time does not exceed 7 seconds. Due to the tank chassis, the machine has increased maneuverability.

TOC shells can be called unique because they have a double effect: incendiary and thermobaric. In other systems, they do not apply. Inside the charge is a mixture of liquid and metals. When the rocket shell is destroyed, an aerosol cloud is created, which is then eroded. Immediately after the explosion, a thermobaric or "vacuum" effect arises - a sharp decrease and then an increase in pressure.

The first combat use of the machine took place in Afghanistan, then much later - in Chechnya during the storming of the village of Komsomolskoye.

According to the military, with all its effectiveness, the machine is poorly protected. TOC can be hit from a tank or a helicopter, so the time the machine is at the firing point is minimal. She attacks and immediately under the cover of tanks leaves the front.

The car is produced in single copies and it is not widely used. According to experts, this may be due to the fact that TOC was originally created for local conflicts. Today, the flamethrower system is not very effective due to the fact that it affects too large areas and civilian casualties are not excluded. On the other hand, during large-scale hostilities, TOC is inferior to the Smerch volley fire system in range and power.
