Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. A new model of a self-loading pistol for .22LR was presented - a side-firing cartridge. This small bore pistol is produced under the code designation SR22. The Ruger SR22 pistol is designed for training and recreational shooting. The main competitors of the SR22 in this niche in the arms market are the S&W M & P22 and Walther P22. The Ruger SR22, unlike other pistols from the company, which use a centerfire cartridge, has an open trigger and double-action firing mechanism. The hammer has a round head for easier cocking in single action modes. In the operation of the automatics, a scheme for using recoil with a free shutter is implemented.
On the polymeric frame of the Ruger SR22 pistol, in the front are Picatinny slots used for attaching tactical flashlights or laser sightings. For the manufacture of the shutter-casing used light alloy based on aluminum. On its side faces of the back and front there is a large inclined incision. The front notch is designed to facilitate quick handling of the shutter-casing. On the Ruger SR22 there is a double-sided safety lock, with the help of which the trigger is also safely released from a platoon. In front of the safety lever on the left side of the frame, there is a slide delay.
Model SR22 has adjustable sights with three white inserts to help shoot in low light conditions. A dovetail slot is used to attach the front sight. It is possible to replace the standard fly with popular models with fiber optic rods. Rear sight adjustable horizontally and vertically. On the handle can be fixed one of the removable modules, which are supplied in quantities of two pieces complete with a gun. These modules differ in size, which allows you to adapt the size of the handle to the arm of the gun owner. Modules for a more stable hold have a rubberized surface. The two-sided latch of the store is located at the base of the trigger guard. The fuse is also double sided.
Two magazines are included in the delivery of the gun. Box magazines designed for 10 cartridges are equipped with large plastic lids that serve as a continuation of the handle. The disadvantages of the SR22 pistol include the relatively small magazine capacity and that the new pistol has no resemblance in controls and ergonomics with the Ruger SR40 and SR9. "Ruger has earned a reputation as an outstanding designer and manufacturer of self-loading pistols for ring ignition cartridges, such as the Mark III and 22 / 45. The new SR22 will make a constructive contribution to reputation. The gun works with all .22LR ammunition," says Vice President Ruger marketer Chris Kiloy. SR22 pistol recommended price is 399 US dollars.
The main characteristics of the gun Ruger SR22: Caliber - .22LR; Length: pistols - 163 mm; stem: 89 mm; Weight: 496 g. (Without cartridges); Magazine capacity - 10 cartridges.
