The gun Springfield Armory XDs is compact weaponsdesigned for hidden wearing. It combines small dimensions in length, width and weight. The Springfield Armory XDs use the popular .45 ACP cartridge with a fairly high stopping power of the bullet. The XDs model was developed based on the XD (M) Compact and has a similar design. In the work of automation applied the use of recoil during the short stroke of the barrel. Locking is carried out by the declining breech breech, which enters with its rectangular protrusion located above the chamber, into the window of ejection of the spent shells in the bolt-casing. The reduction occurs during the interaction of the protrusion of the steel liner of the frame and the bevel of the lower tide of the breech breech.

The shutter-casing, made of forged steel and having a matte anti-reflective coating, in the front part is equipped with a large inclined notch that provides a convenient and easy sending of cartridges to the chamber during loading of the weapon. The handle has a large, deep notch that allows you to stably hold the gun during maneuvering, as well as during high-speed shooting. The new gun fully meets the requirements of modularity. The owner has the ability to customize the dimensions of the handle under his arm. This is possible thanks to three interchangeable elements of the handle, allowing you to adapt the back of it to the hand of the owner. Disconnecting the store is done without changing the “grip” with both the left and right hand.

At the bottom of the front of the Springfield Armory frame are Picatinny guides (Mil-Std-1913 standard), allowing you to mount various types of laser targets and tactical lights on the weapon or an aiming block in which they are combined. Shop Springfield Armory XDs is made of high quality stainless steel and has a large margin of safety. The holes made in the store allow the owner to see how many rounds there are in it. The surfaces of the steel parts of the gun are treated with a wear-resistant, highly durable coating "Melonite".

The trigger mechanism of the gun Springfield Armory XDs - single action, shock type. The spring of the firing pin in it is compressed during the forward movement of the shutter-casing when the cartridge is sent to the chamber. The automatic trigger guard is a lever that blocks the trigger until the shooter starts to squeeze it. The fuse is necessary, first of all, to prevent accidental shots during the fall of the pistol on a hard surface at an angle that would cause the trigger to shift (this is caused by a very short descent stroke).

In addition, the Springfield Armory XDs are equipped with an automatic firing pin guard, blocking the firing pin’s advance until the trigger is fully released. The automatic lever fuse located on the handle blocks the operation of the firing mechanism. You can shoot a gun, if only to cover his grip, squeezing the fuse lever at the same time. If the drummer is in the cocked state, then its rear part protrudes beyond the limits of the casing shutter. Thus, the shooter has the ability to determine the state of the drummer visually or by touch.

Similarly, the owner of the gun can determine whether it is charged, because if there is a cartridge in the chamber, the ejector protrudes beyond the top face of the casing. Thus, it is a pointer to the presence in the chamber of the cartridge. The shot can be made only if the shooter correctly takes the gun and squeezes the trigger. Shop is designed for five rounds. Sights, in which the possibility of introducing amendments horizontally, may have or luminous inserts. In addition, the fly can have a fiber optic rod, which helps to significantly reduce the aiming time. The gun Springfield Armory XDs is simple both in design and in circulation, (due to the lack of a manually operated fuse). For a shot, you just need to clasp the handle and pull the trigger.

The main characteristics of the gun:
Caliber: .45 ACP
Weapon length: 166 mm
Barrel length: 84 mm
Weapon Width: 25,4 mm
Mass without cartridges: 822 g.

And then they already added the bar - how could we use hidden weapons on it without it?
Personally, I don’t like the idea of this gadget itself - the hidden-carrying weapon is intended for self-defense, you need to shoot at a short distance, so all the garbage with particularly accurate sights is not needed at all, we don’t forget the weight, but the weight, and here approaching a kilogram, from here should be on the side and almost cannon caliber ...
It doesn’t matter, although it looks pretty ...

the pistol was made for sale on the market ... no one forces a flashlight or a laser pointer to be hung up, but the possibility of this action is present ... it is in Soviet / Russian pistol models that everyone needs a drum for the needs and intentions of the end user ...

"The firing mechanism ... - single action ..." is an anachronism for a pistol of this purpose.

      Apparently, a mistake. That's impossible.
In the work of automation, the scheme of using recoil during a short stroke of the barrel is applied

"Extreme duty" is an export model for the USA of the very successful Croatian HS2000 pistol. wondering why not take the original model as an example?

and this gun is produced under a wide variety of cartridges, not only under .45 ACP, but also under 9x19 luger, .357SIG, .40SW, .45GAP

Yo ...., but our PM is more compact and lighter. I wonder how you can secretly carry a fool weighing almost 1 kilo in your jacket or trouser pocket? For fun, you can experiment with a 0,75 bottle of vodka (I mean only the weight). For such purposes, they came up with PSM!
And, I forgot, they don’t know that we have already invented and produced it.

PM is 50 grams heavier. It's not a hidden carry,
but pocket. The same PM in the top five pocket of the 20th century.

Well, who told you that, Comrade Major General? PM weight (not charged) was, is and will be equal to 730 grams. In running order - 815 grams. And this uncharged one has 822. The total length of the PM is 161 mm, the barrel length is 93,5 mm, the height (I don’t remember exactly now) is 120 mm (roughly). And now look at the performance characteristics of this fool for 5 rounds. As a result, it turns out that our PM is more suitable for hidden wearing than an American.

Now the data of our PSM.
        Weight - 454 grams (uncharged)
        Caliber - 5,45 * 18 - 8 rounds (by the way, Kel-Tek recently released a civilian version of the pistol for 20 rounds of small-caliber 5,45 or 5,56 mm, I don’t remember exactly)
        Barrel length - 84 mm
        Total length - 155 mm

Well, for a snack - P-96 (this is a modified PM, Makarov used more plastic in it - a trend of the times, so to speak)
Weight - 454 grams (without cartridges)
        Total length - 150 mm
        Magazine capacity - 14 rounds 9 * 18

By the way, who is in the top five? And who made this rating? Share, I am personally very interested.

Wrong, it happens. Please do not call me general.
And as for PM, I wrote that he is better, I myself have.

Walter PP, still like Mauser HSc, like Astra, I don’t remember the model,
and the rating is western, from childhood I remember from the famous atlas of A. B. Zhuk.

          Do not be noisy!
You said the right thing too!
I don’t remember where, but I read (in the book) that the PM is recognized as one of the best pocket pistols in the world. The way it is.
And you were not mistaken about P-96? In appearance, it looks more like a GSh. And the civilian (plastic) version of PM is Skiff.

All right! +! But the PM in curb weight 810 grams, and here without a store - 822! And Makarov will be more sympathetic in appearance!

The gun is not bad, but in my opinion the caliber is large for it, 9 by 19 would have been just right and the store’s capacity would have increased. The presence of slats is also +, you can find quite compact support. the flashlight and stealth are particularly affected. The positive thing is that a large selection of weapons and equipment. With respect.

Well, at least minus, but this sample of weapons creativity in general repeats the Austrian Glock model 30 (series "subcompact", cartridge .45 ACP) with some changes in the design ...
By the way, last fall, the Italian company Beretta (one of the leaders in the production of service-grade pistols) presented a pistol for concealed carry "Nano". On the face, again, a clear copy of the concept of Glock pistols. Also the "subcompact" series, only model 26, since the "Nano" uses the 9x19 cartridge ("Parabellum") ...

These are the things ... wink So, Gaston Glock Faroeva !!! ... tongue bully laughing
