According to a survey conducted by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM), sociologists found out that Russians continue to consider non-statutory relations as the main problem of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The fact that they are worried about hazing in the army, said 33% of respondents (over the past two years, the share of those increased by 2%).
Other difficulties of the Armed Forces are not so significant for the Russians. 9% of respondents (2008% in 14), 7% lack of discipline, 6% training problems (2008% in 13), poor living conditions - 5% concern national defense issues. Three percent each point to corruption, the provision of military housing, the level of military salaries, army financing, two to the problem of the prestige of the Armed Forces.
The least significant issues are contract service and hot spots (for 1%). However, the army does not care about every third problem - 34%.
Meanwhile, as a survey conducted in 140 settlements in 42 areas, territories and republics of Russia, showed, positive emotions towards the Armed Forces as a whole are expressed more often by negative citizens towards the Armed Forces.
At 35% of our citizens, the Russian army evokes a feeling of respect, and over the past two years such respondents have increased by 6%. Hope and pride towards the army are 27 and 26%, respectively. In 10%, the Armed Forces inspire confidence, in 5% - admiration. Positive emotions of the Armed Forces are caused mainly by elderly respondents. So, in this group there are more people with respect (39%) and pride (31%) towards the Russian army. Young people are more likely than other categories to indicate distrust (13%).
