"Improvised Explosive Device" (in translation - self-made explosive devices) has recently become the main source of the loss of personnel of peacekeeping units and the forces of "restoring democracy" in the Middle East. The main purpose of “Improvised Explosive Device” is to be installed on or near roads as mine devices that are undermined while driving at the place of installation of vehicles. Of the wide range of methods used to detonate improvised mine devices, the most common of these is the detonation using a remote radio-controlled fuse.

"Vehicle Protection Jammer" is a system for detecting and silencing control radio signals for undermining mine devices.

The developer of this active system is Cassidian, a division of EADS. The equipment on which this active type of Vehicle Protection Jammer will be installed, according to the developers, will be provided with reliable protection from homemade mine devices with radio remote control.

The principle of "Vehicle Protection Jammer" is based on listening to the radio in order to search for radio signals that can be used as a remote activator of the mine device fuse. When a signal is detected, a vehicle operating in the immediate vicinity, on which the active vehicle type Vehicle Protection Jammer is installed, instantly (one microsecond) begins to transmit chaotic signals at the detected frequency. This action completely distorts the original signal at the detected frequency, which in practice should lead to blocking the activation of the mine device’s charge. Today, different types of active suppression systems are used in service, basically, they have a certain drawback - they constantly emit a strong radio signal in a wide frequency range. Such systems have rather large overall characteristics and require a powerful source of energy for their constant work.

"Vehicle Protection Jammer" uses the power of its transmitter only at the moment when the receiver detects a certain signal. The transmitter turns on and emits a chaotic signal only at the detected frequency. Such an organization of the work of the system allowed the use of a very small source of energy for work, for example, an ordinary generator installed on the equipment used can cope with such a task. The overall characteristics of the Vehicle Protection Jammer will allow the installation of this mine protection even in an ordinary passenger car - it will easily fit in its trunk.

There is such a technique, only it is on government cars. They are similar to "THULE" racks.

Thank you for the article ... I always said that the good old vole is reliable and simple ... Plus ... There is sorrow from the mind ... and cowardice or something ... of course, with a wire blast, the distance is much closer ... but you can always Find the way out...

, which in practice should lead to blocking the activation of the charge of the mine device. Should it lead ?.
We also have similar devices, only they are much easier, although the article says the opposite.
    GRIFF-2MT Plus Transport-wearable radio fuse blocker, range 30m, range 50-100 / 200-500 MHz
GRIFFON-4MT Transport-wearable radio fuse blocker kit, 20-500 MHz

And now a little about the "Tiger". SPM-2 GAZ-233036 "Tiger" is an armored vehicle, has the 5th class of ballistic protection in accordance with GOST R 50963-96. There are two hatches in the roof of the vehicle, closing loopholes are built in the armored glass for firing from the personal weapons of the crew and the landing party, the cabin is equipped with places to accommodate the driver, the senior vehicle and 7 troops.
Places are provided for the installation of a radio station and a blocker of radio-controlled explosive devices.. Installation of a blocker is provided on all Tiger models

We really need such a system. Especially needed in Chechnya. Interestingly in Russia there are analogues?

Well, you can take out the detonator’s receiver, a hundred meters from the explosive charge, shield it, and so what?
