According to domestic media reports, the Russian industry has completed the development of a promising electronic warfare system, and has already brought it to mass production. With the help of new-type products, the army will be able to more effectively accomplish combat missions, interfering with the normal operation of enemy radar facilities. Reportedly, the military department was offered a whole range of new systems.

The success of the new 26 project in September was reported by the TASS news agency with reference to the adviser to the first deputy general director of the Radio Electronic Technologies concern Vladimir Mikheev. A high-ranking representative of the defense industry revealed some details of the new project, although he did not mention its name. Also, the main features and capabilities of the promising complex were again announced.



KRET specialists created new aerodynamic targets with airborne electronic warfare devices. It was created several similar products with different characteristics, but built on general principles. V. Mikheev noted that part of the new false targets have already been put into series and ordered by the military department. He also clarified that serial targets work at distances up to 10-20 km.



Work in this direction continues. With an eye to the distant future, new aerodynamic targets are being developed with their own EW systems. In the future, they will be used as part of an onboard equipment and weapons system of Su-34 bombers and Su-57 fighters (PAK FA / T-50). For them, over the next two to three years it is planned to create their own goals. At the same time, promising products of this kind will have new opportunities.

According to V. Mikheev, new aerodynamic targets will be able to simulate a massive aviation flying at distances up to several hundred kilometers. Other information about the electronic warfare of new types has not yet been specified.

It should be noted that the latest TASS messages appeared only a few months after the previous ones. News about promising means of electronic warfare. In early June this year, the press already published statements by V. Mikheev on the creation of new radio-electronic means. Then it was claimed that the experts of KRET are completing the development of new electronic equipment carrier products. According to the information of that time, promising systems could have various possibilities. Among other things, a function was announced to simulate a full-blown missile strike.

At the same time, the representative of the concern "Radio-electronic technologies" described the overall appearance of the new aviation systems. As a basis for such a complex were taken so-called. false aerodynamic goals of the existing look. These products should be equipped with a special electronic warfare system. The possibilities and functions of the latter are determined by the peculiarities of the work of different types of troops.

According to official reports, a similar EW complex, having relatively small dimensions and weight, can be used with different carriers. It can be installed on cruise missiles with different bases. In addition, the equipment can be placed in the case of an air-to-air missile. Due to this, the flexibility of application and the range of tasks are increased. The use of different carriers allows you to implement advanced equipment in different types of troops and types of armed forces.

As follows from the official data, the task of the EW equipment launch vehicle is to travel along a given route with jamming or issuing radio signals of a special configuration. The latter function allows the enemy to be misled and prevent him from properly organizing the defense.

The on-board equipment of a false target, broadcasting certain signals, can simulate single or group air targets. For example, one goal is capable of "portraying" a group of strike aircraft or a simultaneous attack using several cruise missiles. Imitation of a false plaque, allegedly performed by various attack complexes, should divert the forces of the enemy’s air defense or antimissile defense, to some extent facilitating a real strike.

It should be noted that so far only the main capabilities of promising EW complexes have been announced. Characteristics, appearance and even designation of these products are not specified yet. However, V. Mikheev pointed out the approximate parameters of one of the new false targets proposed by the army. Thus, part of the new models will be able to work at distances up to 10-20 km. We are probably talking about the flight range relative to the starting point.

Over the past three and a half months, the specialists of the “Radioelectronic Technologies” concern have completed all the necessary work, and also prepared some products of new types for mass production. According to the latest data, part of the proposed range of products has already become the subject of an order. In addition, the Ministry of Defense managed to get the first production systems. In the foreseeable future, it is planned to create new complexes with increased range of on-board electronics.

It must be recalled that Soviet and Russian defense enterprises in the past created a whole range of false aerodynamic targets. However, new KRET projects use only a few ideas from old projects. The main difference between previous and current false goals lies in the principles of their work. The modern level of development of electronics has significantly reduced the size and weight of the equipment, making it suitable for installation on cruise or aircraft missiles. A direct consequence of this was the emergence of completely new opportunities.

Unlike old false targets, which had only passive means of jamming, promising products use the active principle. This allows you to generate interference or other signals of different configurations. In particular, the stated possibility of imitating a massive raid is provided by precisely such functions of the onboard equipment.

According to recent reports, in recent months, Russian industry has mastered the production of several promising EW systems made in the form factor of a false aerodynamic target. It can be assumed that in the near future, other representatives of the developed series will also be included in the series. In addition, work continues on the creation of new systems of this class, differing in enhanced performance. At the same time, new family projects are being created with the aim of increasing the combat effectiveness of front-line aviation.

The available information suggests that in the future new electronic warfare systems will be able to be used not only by combat aircraft. These or those modifications of false targets can be introduced in the ground forces and the naval navy. The advantages of such a rearmament are obvious: land units, airborne forces and the fleet will be able to expand their capabilities in the context of counteracting the enemy and striking at their targets.

In recent years, our country has embarked on the creation of promising means of electronic warfare of various classes. The already well-known and mastered classes of similar equipment were further developed, and in addition, the opportunity to create completely new samples appeared. Aerodynamic targets with an onboard EW system, recently ordered by the Ministry of Defense, launched a new original direction. New projects of such systems are already being created, and, apparently, the development of such ideas will continue in the future.

    Not quite right, everything is more complicated. What is the point of finding you an F-22 or F-35 with a decimeter fighter radar or a ground meter? Well, you fired at it - and the missile has a radar seeker of millimeter range, against which the stealth is imprisoned. She flew to the right place, but the target does not see.

Thirdly, you do not correctly interpret the tasks of stealth technology. Because the detection range is not equal to the range of use of their own weapons. Fourth, for some reason everyone was fixated on “invisibility”, although IMHO the main task of all these lotions (from reducing radar visibility to the ILC) is to complicate the capture of your aircraft by enemy radar and disruption of guidance.

      You are mistaken in ranges. In the mm range, stealth is visible due to violations of the coating of small ones. A plane that has just left the factory may not be noticeable in the mm range, but as it flies a little, it has exfoliated somewhere, there corrosion has bubbled, etc. But the bulk of the GOS missiles is the sm-range, the stealth works against it. I hope that future Russian missiles will have at least a dual-band GSN cm- and mm-, otherwise it’s difficult to catch stells.
