As part of the program "Transport-2011", a study of a new generation of supersonic business and passenger aircraft has been launched.According to ARMS-TASS, TsAGI specialists named after N. Ye. Zhukovsky began research on a new generation of supersonic business and passenger aircraft (VTS and SPS). Devices of this type will receive the possibility of supersonic flight over a populated area. Research is being conducted together with a large number of organizations - Aviadvigatel OJSC, Federal State Unitary Enterprise TsIAM. P.I. Baranova ", NPO Saturn OJSC (Scientific Research Center named after A. Lyulka), Federal State Unitary Enterprise LII named after M. Gromov, Joint-Stock Company" New Civil Technologies of Sukhoi ", Federal State Unitary Enterprise" SibNIA named after S. Chaplygin. Work is being carried out on the request of the Ministry of Industry and Trade under the program Transport-2011.

According to ARMS-TASS correspondents, scientists from TsAGI need to clarify the requirements for the main transport task of new-generation vehicles, as well as on noise at airports and the intensity of sound impact. It is also necessary to develop preliminary recommendations for shaping the appearance of promising VTS for Russian developers.

Specialists are planning to start the development of pre-structural-power gliders, conduct a selection of basic structural materials and evaluate the preliminary mass-dimensional characteristics of the VTS, the basic diagrams of air intakes, power plant nozzles, noise suppression systems.

There will also be an assessment of the main characteristics of the engine range as part of the VTS, including promising Russian-made engines.

It is necessary to assess the capabilities of current methods for recording and recording the level of sound impact, to develop requirements for the composition and technical characteristics of measuring instruments that are necessary to conduct certification flight tests of promising VTS for sound impact.

Currently, aerodynamic models of VTS layout, models of air intakes and nozzles, together with noise absorbing devices for acoustic and aerodynamic studies, are being made.

There are preliminary estimates of the noise level during landing and take-off, the volume of the impact of the VTS sound in cruising supersonic flight, which showed that it is possible to realize the noise level at the level of promising subsonic civil aircraft during cruising supersonic flight over a populated area.

According to Sergey Lyapunov, deputy director general of TsAGI, head of the aircraft dynamics and aerodynamics complex, this will be the first work in Russia that is carried out to form the scientific and technical groundwork for ATP and SDS over the past twenty years with such a wide participation of various organizations developing aviation technology, flight research and applied institutes.

The development of high-speed aviation transport is one of the most urgent tasks for aircraft manufacturers. Its completion will make it possible to become the leader in the aviation services market of the future. The new generation of supersonic passenger and VTS, which can carry out a supersonic cruising flight in a populated area, are developed by specialists and scientists from the EU, the USA, Japan and China.

The result of the completed design, numerical and experimental studies will be recommendations for the formation of the appearance of promising ATP and VTS for Russian developers of the engine and aircraft. Moreover, the basis of the requirements and standards for such developments will be updated, which will include recommendations for a new GOST on the sound impact acceptable for domestic airlines.

It's good that the movement begins.
Can bring to mind the movers for PAK FA.
Gladish and impulse dviguny build, then step to the aircraft of the 6th generation through the 5th. You will be in touch with your Raptors.

The implementation of such a project is a daunting task, but if a real model appears that can fly it will be a huge step, Russia now needs to look far ahead, and not just catch up with the west. Good luck to TsAGI specialists, let them succeed!

I agree. You can go far ahead only by setting and implementing ambitious plans. The niche of supersonic civil aviation is not yet occupied, and if we manage to become leaders in this area, then the authority of the Russian aircraft industry will increase many times over.

The Academy of Sciences, in fact, has remained almost the only surviving stronghold of science in our country, the main task of which is to carry out basic research. The campaign to discredit the RAS, launched in some media, is noteworthy. One edition asks the question: “Is it necessary to destroy the RAS as a system in order to create a new structure adequate to the new era?” Another argues that the RAS budget is 2% of GDP. In reality, all expenditures of the Russian Federation on R&D make up only 1% of GDP, and the academy’s expenditures actually make up only 0,1% of GDP. I mean that R&D expenditures should be increased.

For a calm and working environment in the country, it is high time for some particularly vile publications to be covered up.

It’s already time to cover up some especially vile editions
... "Echo of Moscow", TV channel "Rain" .... bully and public flogging of the workers of these media.

First of all, you need to think about what fuel this promising development will work on, since oil is getting more expensive and the trip will cost astronomically money, you should think about the appropriateness of such a development so as not to repeat the experience of 144

Well done !! It is always necessary to set ambitious goals and solve them in stages, then leadership will be ensured. In addition, design issues are now largely computerized, which speeds up the work process.

Yes!!!! Yes!!!! And again DAAA !!!! I myself have thought many times that such aircraft are needed. And here is the news. It's nice when dreams begin to come true. Oh, to see all this in metal. Well, let's be patient.

First of all, you need to think about what kind of fuel this promising development will work on .. about the advisability of such a development so as not to repeat the experience

Prospects for chemical jet engines have long been determined - to gradually approach, having gained experience, to the F + I pair (if I am not mistaken). But the Americans seriously studied the experience of the Tu-144. In Ulyanovsk, he was driven, in all modes. Bursting with sensors, cameras, etc. Within the framework of classical aerodynamics, the task, in my opinion, has no solutions. This does not mean that work should be stopped. On the contrary - to create "non-classical" aerodynamics. Then the cruising power of the engines will be completely different. And the expense, respectively, is much less.

Happy news. I agree that there must be a breakthrough in engine building for both the PAK FA and the PAK YES, and probably there will be something in civil aviation.

This is all well and good, but whether such a plane would be economically viable. Remember the sad fate of the Tu-144 and Concord. But such advanced machines were already sad to recall.
