Russia is ahead of America in the export of fighters in 2008-2011. and maintain the leading position in 2012-2015.
Estimated TSAMTO, Russia is in first place in terms of quantity in the list of the world's largest suppliers of new fighters for the period 2008-2015. (369 fighters worth 16,54 billion.
Over the period from 2008 to 2011, 198 airplanes for the total amount of 8,33 billion were exported, with the 2012-2015 years, the direct delivery package was 171 fighter for the amount of 8,21 billion. Russia holds the leading position in this market segment in terms of quantity in both four year periods. Russia holds the second place after the United States in terms of value, if we talk about the period 2008-2011, 2012-2015. and generally for 2008-2015.
In order to maintain its position in the period from 2016 onwards, Russia needs to enter into new contracts. The current contracts and intentions for direct delivery are unlikely to help hold the leading position. From 2016, the number of F-35 exported under already concluded contracts will increase. Russia does not participate in several major tenders for the supply of fighters. The main deliveries for them will fall on 2016 a year and beyond (this is the tender of the Air Force of South Korea). Decisions on tenders in which Russia does not participate should be taken by such countries as Denmark, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Kuwait. Russia will take part in the tender of the Malaysian Air Force. The Air Forces of Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Philippines and some other countries should also decide on purchases through major international tenders.
The initial deliveries of the Rafale fighter jets to the Indian Air Force will begin in the 2015 year, and the delivery rate will increase significantly from the 2016 year. Thus, during the 2-3 years, Russia will have to solve the problem of maintaining its position for the period from 2016 and beyond by concluding new contracts.
In general, fighter sales for the period from 2012 - 2015 will be 548 units for a total of 35,77 billion dollars, provided that delivery schedules for current contracts held by tenders are met.
Over the period 2008-2011. exports of new aircraft amounted to 520 units worth 30,18 billion dollars.
In quantitative terms, the growth of export shipments of new aircraft in 2012-2015. (in comparison with 2008-2011 years) will be 5,38%, and in value - 18,52%.
If we talk about the average demand for modern multipurpose fighters in the international market, in 2008-2011. she made 130 machines a year. In the next period, the annual demand will increase to 137 machines.
In second place in terms of quantity over the period 2008-2015. cost the United States of America (324 fighter for a total of 28,96 billion dollars). If we take the value indicator, then America surely holds the first place.
Between 2008-2011 185 aircraft were exported in the amount of 14,65 billion dollars, in the period from 2012-2015. the volume of shipments currently stands at 139 machines worth 14,31 billion dollars. The figures indicate a decline in indicators of the period 2012-2015. This is due to the delay in the production of F-35 "Lightning-2", as well as the postponement of the purchase of these fighters by program participants. Despite this, at the moment America has the largest package of orders for the period from 2016 year and beyond.
In third place in the period 2008-2015. in terms of quantity, China is located. Basically, this was achieved through the delivery of JF-17 “Thunder” fighter jets to Pakistan (179 aircraft worth 3,37 billions of dollars). In the first four years, 67 aircraft worth 1,29 billion were exported, in the second four-year period there will be a significant increase in supply and will be approximately 112 machines worth 2,1 billion. It should be noted that in terms of value over the period 2008-2015. China occupies only fifth place, behind the United States, Russia, Britain and Sweden.
In the fourth place in the list in terms of quantity is the UK (95 fighters worth 10,32 billion.). In the first 4-year period (2008-2011), Great Britain owned a portfolio of orders thanks to the licensed production of Jaguar planes in India, as well as initial deliveries of Typhoon fighters from Saudi Arabia and Austria (2000 machines worth 47 billion. Doll). In the second four-year period, the main deliveries will be provided by the production of the EF-4,41 "Typhoon" fighter jets for Saudi Arabia. In total, during this period 2000 aircraft will be exported to the amount of 48 billion.
In fifth place with the fighter JAS-39 "Gripen" is Sweden (49 aircraft worth 3,94 billion. Dollars). In the first four years, 23 aircraft worth 1,5 billion were exported to Thailand and South Africa. In the second four-year period, shipments will be 26 machines worth 1,44 billion dollars, if Switzerland chooses JAS-39, rather than the French “Rafal” ".
France is in sixth place due to the first export order for Rafale fighter jets for the Indian Air Force. France is still in the sixth position in the rating, since in the period under review only the initial deliveries under this contract are planned. The company Dassault connects its future prospects with regard to the Rafale fighter with the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Brazil.
If we talk about the category of "tender", the results have not yet been summed up, however, it is planned to purchase 46 fighters worth 2,045 billion dollars with supplies to 2014-2015, which will not significantly affect the current ranking of the world's largest exporters of new fighters for period 2012-2015
In conducting the counting of the market for new fighters, only deliveries of new cars under contracts that have already been entered into, licensed programs, and also planned deliveries under the stated programs were taken into account. Only export orders are taken into account for all world exporters of new fighters, while supplies related to the domestic market are not taken into account.
