Guardium ground robotic machine

Guardium is a ground-based robotic unit of the Israeli company G-Nius of one of the IAI divisions (Israel Aircraft Industries - Taasia Avirit) and Elbit Systems (Elbit Maarakhot).

The Israeli company G-NIUS has developed a ground robotic device Guardium, which can be used to patrol areas, escort convoy, conduct reconnaissance, supply of ammunition and provide fire support to the troops.

According to the developers, the Guardium can be equipped with electro-optical and infrared cameras, electronic warfare, missile attack warning systems, chemical reconnaissance devices and other equipment. On the types of combat systems with which it is planned to equip Robot, not reported. Apparently, machine guns or grenade launchers can be used as weapons.

Guardium is an “autonomous surveillance and interception system”, which includes an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) M-Guard based on Tomcar buggy. The light-armored car has a positioning system and telemetry, various sensors, two-way voice communication.

The main purpose of Guardium is to carry a patrol service, so the manufacturer calls it not UGV, but USV (Unmanned Security Vehicle). There are various scenarios for patrolling the area (from perimeter security to random routes) with one or several vehicles. The data on the detected violators are transmitted to the control center, where they decide whether to negotiate with them via two-way voice communication, or to send a mobile paramilitary patrol, the commander of which can control the machines from the portable control panel.

Guardium has a modular design and is built on the basis of a four-wheel buggy, providing increased mobility and maneuverability on rough terrain.

Automated control system with GPS receiver allows the robot to independently make the necessary changes to the programmed route of movement, taking into account the features of the terrain.

Means of communication and data exchange of the new device can be integrated with control systems available to potential customers. weapons and troops.
